uh oh....I guess I could only stay away for a year...brought another one home....I'll throw some pictures up shortly. I bought back my old 1997 GST from a friend I sold it too back in 2009.
That's fine, I am basically just looking for a motor but if I can find an entire 1g parts car with an engine, harness, etc then it is easier to make sure that I have everything. I am doing a swap into a non-DSM car and looking about building an engine beforehand.
When you tuned the car and set up the idle and low speed settings did you account for that difference? If not, your car will be running and tuned 1.3 difference all the time, at idle it won't matter much but at WOT you may be running really rich and losing some power. When I get to a computer...
Are you using the preset settings for the AEM in ECMlink? If so you should try using the linear wide and "generic" setting and calibrate it yourself so they match. There is a tutorial on the ecmlink wiki. You will tune via the ECM link data so you need them to match before you do any serious...
I picked up a new project to keep myself sane. We also just bought a house and it is driving me CRAZY, it is nice to have a chance to step away for even 15 minutes and tinker on the car and fantasize to ignore all of the house and school issues.
I'm in NWA as well, Siloam Springs, I had a 280z a few years ago and did a slight restore, this one I'm gonna go all out now that I've built my bodywork and fab skills.
Hey guys been inactive for a bit since I sold my talon but picked up a new project this weekend I wanna share. 1973 Datsun 240z, saved it from a friend who was going to scrap it since he moved and couldn't take it. Came with 1500$ of new parts still in the box.....only paid $500! I couldn't let...
Too bad to see it not stick with someone. That's the life of a DSM, gets passed around for project after project until the original owner decides to snag it again. I'm tempted to buy my original GST from my friend I sold it to after highschool. He blew the engine and it has sat for years calling...
Yea I was happy about the sale. I have to take it to him today as he swing by after work. I had a few highschoolers interested but I didn't want to have someone tear it up. Now to figure out what to do with the datsun. Me and my wife are looking at some rental property so I may have to get rid...
I know where you are coming from but EVERYONE does an rb, sr, or KA swap on them, I have also thought about a SBC but that puts me in a whole new class in NHRA that wouldn't be as competitive for me.And it's a 210, slight different body lines but similar chassis. A STOCK NA ka motor swap nets...
Ok guys I've decided to finally build a straight drag car with a 4g63 swap, I'm picking up a datsun 210 this weekend with a cub weight of <2000 pounds. The talon will now be for sell for $5000 without dsm link and 5500$ with it tuned.Anyone looking for a great platform? Just finished all the...
Damn that's nice. No I haven't watched any E3 yet I probably will catch up tonight. I watched the Apple Keynote this morning and got the Xbox order email this afternoon.
I'm fixing to head out to Tulsa's Import Faceoff 2013. Don't expect a lot of eclipse or talons representing but the Evo crowd will be out in full force.
I had this issue and it was due to the mass airflow sensor harness connector came loose. Have you done any work in the bay recently to need to double check connections? The weather seal inside the plug can get distorted and make it not "click" back on easy enough.
There is not a satellite Internet service under 200$ a month that will let you play online games like CoD at a decent speed. The upload speeds are WAY to low and cannot compare to a deducted hard line.Keep going up the ranks to their supervisor you can get out of it I'd you raise enough hell...
Hey man glad to see another NwA member around. I teach at the university and am around quite a bit. Currently live in Prairie Grove but end up in Fayetteville daily, let me know if you ever need some help I'm always up for some wrenching.
Got tired of my doors squeaking so I did some stiffening with expanding foam and created some metal door pull plates to expand the forces across the panel more. Makes a huge difference for 20$ in supplies. Now just gotta tighten up the window rattle and ill be happy. Each will be trimmed and...
The bug bites quick, I can't believe I stayed away from a DSM for two years, now I can't stop tinkering on my own. However, now it has become more of a DD and I have to be careful how long I rip it apart for to get things ironed out.The next round of modifications to the car are more for...
I'm picking up a gs with a black interior possibly, anyone want to buy the dash and console? Rest of interior is tan.If I can find a solid buyer for interior parts the wife won't be able to bi***.
Powerblock is entirely ran from sponsorships so it makes sense to me. Atleast powerblock still shows fabrication unlike Speed which puts on Truck U, the show that only shows you how to bolt on shitty, overpriced parts from summit racing....velocity has car fix with Jared and Guy which use to do...
I use them in my lawn equipment but that would be the ONLY thing I would use them on. I might also use them on an NA car or truck as they have been proven but why didn't he just go to a different store? He could have bought 3 sets of NGKs for the price of the E3 plugs....You can probably still...
They are all pretty similar in quality for what 95% of us use them for. I went with an lC-1 purely for the gauge that matched my Glowshift set. Now if we were truly going all out and running a wideband on each exhaust outlet like some of the top contenders on here I think the mtx would be much...
They are different sellers, also notice that one has the indent for the mitsubishi logo while the other does not.Personally, I would go with the one without the indent.
Nice, love those wheels, pick up some plastidip and kill those yellow center caps though.Cabot, can you shoot me a Facebook invite on there it looks to be invite only. Zach.steelman
