First test yesterday (warmed up to operating temp, readjusted my idle in V3, ran it down the highway and back) yielded......no wet spots in the driveway, gasket looked very dry. As you could tell by the previous orange RTV mess, that previous gasket wasn't working. So far, so good. I'll report...
Correcting some absurdly bad orange rtv job on the oil pan (some of it was in the pan....couple pieces were stuck to the oil pickup screen 😑). Trying out a custom made rubber gasket for it, it better work lol.
Pickup a cheap harbor freight ball joint separator if you don't own one already.
HF Separator
Make sure the hook part is placed on top of the threaded rod so the separator actually works as intended. Otherwise, you'll just be going nowhere and wondering why the tool sucks. Use a ratchet, no...
This right here. The majority of these 15-20k asking price cars on the marketplace are just somebody asking for the total value out of their build they now regret owning. There's a metric ton of tirekickers cheering them on, but nobody's been buying them at that price unless they are in that...
"safe" is not exactly a concrete question to be able to answer. If you're asking if it's fine to flash the new scaling and then drive it around, the answer is only discoverable by YOU. you need to log and monitor your AFRs and adjust as things go too lean or too rich. If I were you, read up on...
It was maybe.....2016 when I purchased the powerstop powdercoated dual piston caliper kit.
Their customer service was really nice, but I had to work with them a lot longer than I should have because their supplied caliper brackets were completely wrong, they were either intended for the single...
Kevlar belts are fairly resistant to oil, the belt looks great on top, you may want to reconsider replacing the belt if it cleans up well and has lower mileage.
Nobody here can figure out how you determined you can't get any fuel through the rail or how you think you have a mismatched fuel tank....did you forget to check and see if your filter was clogged or needed changed? Don't just buy parts if you're worried about 80 dollars without properly...
The ECMLink Cable and internal calcs are night and day better than the translator module, you'll love it once it's set up. Everybody loves SD, but with the MAP sensor being an expensive and fragile component (I've had multiple OMNI failures), it's hard to argue against the value and ease of...
I don't know what your definition of "before" and "after" are, but the setup to run a GM MAF in blow-through is as follows: BOV, MAF, Intake Manifold. Also, The MAF has to be oriented properly, check that too
Well....heating up may not be the best choice of words, as that's fairly subjective. More like slip the clutch more than you usually would to speed up the process of it breaking in. Which....in practice....gets the disc hotter, hopefully knocks off the high spots. On the note posted by others...
I don't remember any "wheel hop" per say when I reused my PP and 6 puck disc, during my old trans swap. The only change was the TOB, fork, and transmission. Mind you this was over ~7 years ago, but the biggest change I remember was BIG chatter. She was noisy as all hell on initial engagement...
The stock tunes are so trash, so rich. it's arguable to some mechEs that its detrimental to our engines as-is. The Big-Maps extra resolution is very nice for tuning and overall driveability. just follow the general tuning guides and you should be ok, evoscan is a must as a diagnostic tool and...
If for some reason you have issues, PM me.If you haven't already done so, read ALL of his website walkthroughs, and some of the trials and tribulations listed in the ECUflash posts on DSMtuners. It isn't rocket science, it just takes some diag, common sense, and a basic understanding of...
You will not be able to contact Ceddy, for the simple reason he does not want the contact anymore. You'll get the ROMs as noted, and please do purchase the set from him, he did a considerable amount of work for pennies
Are you asking if a mechanical fuel pressure regulator is affecting your cruise control...? The answer is obviously no, a diaphragm is not affecting your throttle cable nor your electrical cruise network.Good for you on replacing the no name junk diaphragm because it would most likely fail...
The 3/4NPT fittings RTM sells are the closest you will get to the actual ID=19mm, don't run the necked down 12an. Make sure you get the weldon bung for 3/4npt to match the size throughout the entire drain.
If your (Dan) oil drain outlet flange is as small as I think it is from that photo......yea that would be the problem, all the oil is backing up into the center section still, that drain looks anemic. It doesn't matter how large your pan fitting is, your restricting it right where it starts.
That's terrible if you guys are having issues with JNZ....I have ordered from them for YEARS with perfect, quick shipping, they even called on my big orders. I haven't ordered from them in a while but wouldn't hesitate to do it again.
You're missing a lot, no background info, no log details, nothing. The reason people don't post about ECUflash tuning is because the majority of users who choose it and post have no clue what they are doing and beg to be spoonfed their tuning solutions. If you want a quality answer, post a...
Unfortunately the magnaflow muffler/buschur catback hasn't been a thing for a long long time now.I like the Apexi N1..... but if insurance is paying..... go for the STM exhaust, lightweight, and looks and sounds great
Remember the barb fitting original to that regulator is not an Army Navy threaded fitting, you need an Army Navy -6 adapter to the thread pitch inside the regulator. RTM Racing sells a kit noting the standard AFPR fittings are -6 or -8 Oring boss (-6ORB) fittings.
Take the fitting off, and take it to ACE and find whatever thread size/pitch female fastener it threads in, then search for an army navy adapter fitting to whatever AN size you want.
Here is another thing many people are missing: fluid penetration. There's a reason that boosted cars have 1:1 fuel pressure increase. If you up that base pressure with only 17 psi and stay away from the zone that your walbro starts to tank on volume output, your fuel pump wouldn't cause any...
Yea it's no longer Paul at RTM I believe. Three or four years ago the Canada post shipping didn't even take a week. A few months ago I needed a new Toe arm and it took a week or two just for the new guy to ship it. Still worth supporting them though, they stock a lot of DSM parts.
Essentially no....., the only available turbine housing for a BW turbo that's mhi flanged is a bep .55 housing for an s200 that's hard to find and only sold as a complete turbo unit. You'd be buying a 3rd party distributed bullseye schwitzer s256/9 and paying 1200/1400 bucks
Sometimes....I play with the base timing just to get a good idle, without the proper light. It's not ideal..... but it usually fixes the issue. Might as well try it and see how it goes!
Block off the fiav (turn it all the way in)
If it's the FIAV, that'll fix it. Buttt...most fiav symptoms are surging while warming up, and at operating temp the car idles without issue.Obviously.... since you said the BISS is bottomed out, check really well for boost leaks. Reset the isc...
What size is that nut on the rear shock bushing/bolt that threads into the knuckle? I ask because I am attempting to change to coilovers and the rear passenger shock bolt spins the entire bushing with the m12 bolt that secures the shock onto the bushing. It looks like its in the 27mm to 29mm...
Vis carbon hatch fits like stock, just may want to fatigue your struts quite a bit. You have the option to drill and cut for the stock wiper motor and wing etc.
There's a big can of worms to open here, and your option is to have your tuner fix your problem (barring any possible mechanical issues) because he "tuned" it.Or..... because it's really not that hard, learn to tune the parameters yourself, and start from modifying the original unedited stock...
I hate to say it, but it's likely your OP 2.0 cable is in need of repair. If you try logging with evoscan and you can't get a connection or have intermittent issues, this confirms that most likely. Try multiple versions of evoscan as well
As long as your IDCs are reasonable for the amount of airflow and fueling you have I wouldn't be super worried about the supposed scaling number. Once my Airleaks are in check I believe my numbers are gonna get more and more wonky as well.
My 6 bolt build also has those exact massive oil pressure numbers you listed. I ported the ofh a little and it shifted down a lil bit, but I'm really not interested in porting more considering that my holset with a restrictor is happy. The thing we need to be watchful of is oil temps (get a...
I honestly gave up hope on fixing this design flaw, and ditched it for a Vis Carbon fiber hatch, ~1000 bucks later there's nothing to rust with no more metal, I lost a few pounds in the back, and hopefully I can have heated glass if I can find a place to ground the heater lol
Couple notes about the PTT twin: they intentionally make the metal for the discs' hubs weaker than the input shaft splines to avoid damaging the input shaft. I haven't noticed any damage to my input shaft after just this recent transmission drop (at 6k miles on the clutch rebuild) from a failure...
LMAO people that aren't car guys or dsmer's always ask me why I don't sell or part out my car if something breaks... roflA side note, the craftsmen bolt-out sockets seemed significantly more resistant to deforming the teeth that grip the rounded bolt/nut compared to the irwin set I also tried.
