I sold my car so I need to sell this 1G maft and 3.5" MAF. It is version 2.x and was mounted in the fusebox, so the guts are no longer in the plastic case.

I bought a used MAFT on here from a member, and upon getting it out of the box, it has different writing on the main board than it should (I think), the two right most knobs say "Spark Base and Spark WOT", Did I get sold a Grand National MAFT?It says revision 1.6 at the bottom right.I think...
There is much speculation as to which type of fluid is best, safe for out trans, etc. As long as it is a GL4 fluid and not GL5 specific, you should be fine. Redline MT90 is a piopular choice.
My 1g reads no oil pressure all the time on the gauge, but the light has always performed correctly. Get an aftermarket gauge and confirm the pressure, the stock one is notorious for being junk on dsm's and 3/s'.
You need to log IDC and knock counts for us to be able to help. You are looking at this thinking you know everything about the fuel system and its capabilities, but you are mistaken. Log it and get back to us.Pretty much feels like your car just blew up for a split second.
Welcome! I'm in Iowa City too, but I do have free time occasionally. I didn't think there were any dsm guys around, the car scene aint what it used to be...
There also could be a foreign object stuck in the blower cage, like a mouse nest or leaves. Gross to think about, but I had a full blown mouse nest in my civic after it sat for 4 years...
Ebay is really hit or miss. I used a cxracing FMIC set up when they were just starting to sell parts (had never heard of them prior) on my supercharged mustang. I made ~500rwhp on that intercooler with charge temps of ~20 above ambient at 16 psi on the completely stock engine. The tuner (a very...
Agreed. Unless you need something special from the part, just get one from ebay. My ebay exhaust stuff fit sort of okay, but if you are modding you should be used to making things fit that aren't really supposed to. :D
Don't get your panties in a bunch, I'm sure we are all well versed in the dangers of ebay knock offs. Some products can work very well though.I used a set of coilover collars and springs from ebay on my Miata in high school. Paired with a set of KYB shocks they performed admirably and that...
Do these in order:Check slave cylinder for leakage, then bleed.
Adjust shift cables correctly according to the vfaq.
Change the fluid, GL4 or synchromesh. If that does not fix it then it is an internal problem.
What kind of software would I use though to burm eproms? I know that is what everyone did ten years ago before flash technology was widely used, but I have no idea about the mechanics of a setup. Hence using a maft and adjusting timing with the CAS or an MSD BTM type device (which I used on my...
I agree that sounds like a dry bearing in a tensioner or idler. I am at a loss though as to why it is present with both belts on, as they don't share any idlers or tensioners. Maybe both pulley bearings are bad for the a/c and the alt/wp?Spin them without the belt. If either sounds like...
Is it just loud all the time or is there a specific part of the sound, ie. drone, that you don't like? I did a lot of fab work to tune exhaust systems on the last few cars I had and think I can help.
Sorry, my bad, it was in my other thread. They were destroyed from old pads anyway and I think are the original 20 year+ old rotors. No, I returned them and got some from another store.
What are the real limitations of the MAFT?I am aware of the way it works, and that when limiting the air mass data you can also increase timing to the point where it is dangerous and difficult to tune for pump gas due to knock, but what is the actual limit to the system?Has anyone...
New rotor:Old rotor:There is not any room to get a socket on the bolts, the hole is only big enough for the bolt head. The holes that are countersunk into the rotors for those bolts appear to go all the way through the rotor. To clarify, the bolts are flush with the face of the rotor...
New question, what do the two bolts do that are countersunk into the rotor/hub face do, and how come my new rotors do not have big enough holes for them?
I destroyed one of my spindles trying to remove a brake rotor, and need to replace both front spindle to get it back on the road and the new rotors on. I see that the ABS reluctor rings are attached to the hubs on the inside, does the cv shaft just come out of the hub and the rest just unbolt? I...
I used an 8 lb sledge for a couple of hours before attempting to press the rotor off with the bolts. A couple days later and PB blasting it every time I walk by it, and it still won't come off with the sledge. I am now resigned to just buying two used spindles and replacing the whole knuckle on...
All Y'all be really careful when using the "bolt" method to remove rusty rotors. I was using bolt pressure to press rusty rotors off my 1g and I cracked the spindle at the caliper eyelet. You have been warned... :sosad:
It is straight except for the tiny spot of cancer on the passenger fender, and avove the drivers rear wheel well. Not too bad for 159k miles, 20 years old and driven all year round in Iowa.
