Hello, I'm in search of a clean GSX shell. Preferably something that just needs an engine and that's it but I will negotiate if your shell doesn't necessarily meet my preference. I'm located in Cape Coral, FL. Closer the better to me, obviously. If you or someone you know has a clean shell, go...
Well, fortunately I got the right harness quite some time ago. Unfortunately, I had to eat the bill of shipping all those harnesses back and forth. I'll save my gripes for another time.I'm going to mark the thread answered after this. If you have an Eclipse and receive a replacement harness...
Just to update on what's currently going on. Miller Imports has sent me another Talon harness by mistake. Shipped the first harness, second harness, and my original harness back to them at my own expense (To ensure I get a new Eclipse harness) :|. Hoping to get the situation remedied soon.
Awesome information! Thank you so much, Blurred Talon!Appreciate you confirming it with your experience. I asked MIP to send me one from an Eclipse rather than a Talon to see if that works instead. I'll update the thread once I've got the new harness installed.
Appreciate the help! I didn't have those saved before but now I do. Hoping these diagrams will come in handy once I figure out the differences between wiring harnesses throughout the years.
Hey Tuners, I made a video describing my problem I have. If you're unable to view it I'll be describing the problem in text below.SKIP THIS IF YOU VIEWED THE VIDEO
So the problem I have is that I replaced the under dash wiring harness after discovering that it had been hacked up and...
It didn't go bust. There was just more support from other car clubs and we focused on them after this thread went quiet. I got extremely busy with my company as well as trying to help plan this so I had zero time to come back here.No plans for 2015. 2016 might have something in the works.
Sweet! The more car enthusiasts we have the better!Tell all your friends about this event! Doesn't matter what they drive so long as they're along for the ride :thumb:
Hello Everyone and welcome back! it's time for the 2014 Cruise to Tampa!!!Hosted by Team Mitsu GLRWHEN: July 17th-July 25th 2014WHAT: This is a sequel to the 2012 cruise to Tampa, this Cruise is meant to bring all the Mitsubishi forums together for a week of great fun that will...
Well, the marketplace here is a good place to start. If you belong to Facebook try joining some DSM related groups for parts and post it there. If the price is right, selling it as a whole wouldn't be hard. I'm sure others are in the same boat as I am; looking for a GSX with issues to do the AWD...
Here are some things you could try. Check your fuses, get your alternator and battery tested, check the battery cables for any corrosion. It sounds silly but perhaps your battery cables aren't tight enough to the battery terminal.
Any idea when the next meet will be? Since the dyno day was cancelled I decided to pull my engine and trans out. Figured I'd fix everything and clean everything up for the new season.
I'm really glad you made this thread. I've been looking for a better, more performance orientated wheel, to replace my 18x7.5 ADR Phantoms. I was actually reading some of kidtsi's posts about his specs a few days ago. LOL
Can we clone you? Other members don't seem to get that.OP, I strongly suggest reading some build threads on Stance Nation. I read that you've been there enough times. But reading the build threads gives you an idea on what you may go through and give you ideas on prices/brands to go...
I'm not familiar with any of the meets in Iowa. In FL there was a small group of DSM'ers but most of the meets I went to were all hard parked cars. What's the proving grounds? My car is in need of a tune after adding better supporting mods for my 16g.
For the most part it's the alternator belt squealing. I had a similar problem to yours when I started tinkering with DSM's and followed Gofer's post (http://www.dsmtuners.com/forums/bolt-tech/420038-alternator-belt-screaming.html#post152794250) when looking up how to properly tighten the belt...
Glad to hear it's not a pain in the ass. Can't wait for the weather to clear up so I can start driving it again. It was a lot warmer back in FL that's for sure :pGave the page a like! :thumb: Can't wait for the weather to shape up so I can drive it again.
It's alright, friend. :thumb: We all have different tastes. I agree that this is the best DSM site. Loads of information, kind and helpful members, and a lot of supporting vendors. I don't think my DSM would be running without the help of the members of dsmtuners. :pThe hover stanced car...
I wouldn't say the DSM world is getting polluted by people who are interested in new styles and trends. I can understand why people on a performance driven site wouldn't be interested in these styles and trends. But that doesn't mean you have to accuse those who are interested or like the style...
Can't quite remember where I found these pictures but they were hiding in my Eclipse folderI like the creativity behind all the car scenes. Even if it's the most ridiculous thing I've seen, I still respect it because someone turned their idea into a reality.I may not...
This is a great alternative to get the lip look without the lip costs. Just make sure you spend time on your installation of it and it should turn out great.
The hatch will fit. What I'd do is measure where the holes are on your old hatch and then use the measurements to mark the holes on your new hatch, then drill them out. Or just find a hatch with the high rise bolt holes already in it.
Battery is about 3 and a half years now.I replaced the terminal connectors, cleaned my battery terminals, replaced the wiring for the battery as well as the ground. I've yet to experience an issue today after driving around and on multiple cold starts. Thanks for all your help, guys!
For whatever reason they didn't want to test the alternator while it was in the car. After the shops are back on their regular schedules I plan to get it tested at another place.I tightened my ground and connections. I'll definitely swap out the old wires and connectors with new ones...
Alrighty so I checked all my fuses, all of which were fine. Then I checked my spark plugs. All were good and gapped correctly. Drove to Autozone and had my battery and alternator tested. My battery failed their test and here are the results.
Voltage: 12.81v
Measured: 427 CCA
Rated: 500 CCA...
I'm so glad I'm not alone when it has come to this problem! I'll definitely check the battery voltage and alternator as suggested Colt4G63 pointed out.I do have a battery tie down but I'll double check it and see if there's any play in it. Thanks for chiming in! :thumb:
I'll check them when I can. Thanks for your input.I've come to expect with my car the obvious isn't the answer. The belt was replaced not too long ago. I'll check the battery again as well as the alternator. Thanks for your input.
I've had this car since I was 16 and I've pretty much ran into every possible problem that nobody has ever experienced. I thought I'd seen everything until a few days ago. That being said, I have a little better than basic idea on how DSM's work and what to do when certain problems pop up. (At...
I had the exact same problem. I couldn't figure out which belt was squealing until I decided to do a stress test and the alternator belt felt hot and kind of "gooey" from not catching.I replaced the belt and tightened it. Now I don't have any squeal upon start up.
