I am starting my quest for a 1000hp GST Eclipse all out drag car, starting to reduce weight and so fourth, and just wondering whats the lightest anybody has gotten a DSM? whether 1g or 2g, gst or gsx? I figured I would post this up and see everybodys current weight.
1998GSX, comes with everything but turbo , including ac compressor and power steering pump with lines. Red with gray leather interior. Transmission and transfer case has 95k miles and the body has 170k. The car has a clean title and has never been smoked in. The interior is in great condition...

I dont think stock fans will work to well with an aftermarket raditor, i have a mishimoto radiater, and had to end up buying a small 9inch fan to get my setup to work, however i also have a big turbo, but you can buy aftermarket fan for like 20 dollars.
I kinda had the same problem in my car and it turned out to be a bad fuel pump, check the voltage going to your pump or that your injectors are squirting when your prime your car.
Yes doing all these mods at once will be fine, just make sure you dont stomp it or hit full boost and everything will be ok as long as it was built right.
Not all 1gs have 6bolts, and the swap requires a good bit of know how, just follow the link on road race engineering and everything works fine. That's what i followed when i did my swap. But I highly recommend you buy their harness, its only 50$ with shipping and its so much better than trying...
How bout you get an education before you talk or run your mouth! Because I have a fifth gen civic with a GSR swap that on a mustang dyno made 210hp and gets 35mpg! And you can find GSR swapped civics all day long, at least the USA version a B18c1 which im sure you have no idea what that means...
If your going big go with the 6bolt, however the 6bolt is better and the swap is not to terribly hard to do or that expensive. I did it in mine and I couldn't be happier. If you do the swap keep your 7bolt head, but you have to bore it out to 12mm.
Just get a 4 or 6 point roll bar and someone can still technically sit in your back seat, just not legally. I had a cobra with a 6 point and the back seat was not 100% useless, though its kinda a waste of money to put it on a compete street car, but hey if thats your style go for it!
He said it perfectly, the most important question is HP goal, personally a 14 or 16 ain't enough for me, for a nasty street build get a 20g and it will still mount to the stock mani, but you will defiantly need bigger injectors, and a tune with it.
I mean sure you can run it without a tuning system and you can run 30lbs on pump 93, but the end result is the same a blown motor lol, though how you drive has a lot to do with it as well.
well the 4g63 revs higher, but the 4g64 can produce more tourqe in higher hp applications, so it just kinda depends on what ya want, but 4g64 have weaker rods, so i would swap those out at least if your going to go big hp
If it is 12mm then more than likely it was a 1g block with a 2g head put on it. When i did my swap i used a 1g block with a 2g head and had to get the head stud holes in the 2g head bored to 12mm.
You will defiantly need a bigger fuel pump and depending on your hp goals depends on the size injectors you will need. If you get anything bigger than the stock you will need at least 560cc injectors from an evo or something bigger. Defiantly just get the polyurethane inserts for your motor...
I am putting a 20g turbo on my 2g gsx....The turbo i bought only came with the oil return line....Will my stock t25 lines work? and if not what other three lines do i need to get? The oil feed line to turbo is one right?
