Looks awesome man! Any chance it'll fit with the subframe brace you make for the oem subrame? Looking to maximize my rigidity for the spyder chassis. When you're ready for a website, hit me up. I might be able to help you stand something up.
I have an ebay vrsf style one, which is likely the same kit as they're all pretty similar. The couplers were decent quality, but cut really short and the tclamps were pretty trash, so I replaced them with HPS ones from amazon and replaced the couplers over time. It generally doesn't come with a...
Pretty sweet setup. Couple suggestions... it'd be nice if you could find a usb pass through that fits in one of the button spaces (might be tricky to find). That'd let people running link permantly affix their obd2 adapter and hide the wiring then just plug an extension into their console when...
Here's an old shot of my manifold before I had it powder coated. I used a bracket similar to the one in my post above to mount it to either of the circled holes. The bottom one kept the sensor behind the rail, but I found it stripped out over time as I had to keep pulling it off to get at the...
I have an rvr manifold, basically the same thing. My bracket looks completely different. Closer to a 1G style one. I just use the bolt hole for the 90 degree bend to bolt it to the manifold on an unused bolt hole behind the fuel rail on the manifold. It's gotten a bit stripped out from taking it...
Do these work with volk front lower arms? Looking at replacing my arms when he does his next batch and was thinking this would help stiffen up the Spyder's chassis with the awd swap I'm trying to wrap up this winter.
I'd start with the jpipe flange coming off the turbo then. The two bolt stock flanges are notoriously hard to get to seal. Soak it down with the soap and if it bubbles, that gasket probably needs swapped out.
Got them at the shootout and had them cleaned and serviced by pte. Put them on the car with a 14b last summer, but tuner advised going with a bigger turbo and injector setup, so I did. Used for less than 50 miles after the cleaning with straight 93.
I have 2 ECU's hat I ran in my car before switching to ecmlink. The first is the non-eprom ecu (metal box) that came with the car (96 Spyder GST). The second is a blackbox. I had it flashed with ceddymods with big fuel maps. I believe I had it flashed with the SD version, but switched to link...
I'd also suggest just buying the intercooler and getting your own pipes. I ended up replacing most of the couplers and clamps on mine with HPS ones from amazon anyway. The ones they sent me were decent quality, but cut really short, so they popped off easy. Clamps were cheap. The throttle body...
I'd be tempted to try it if I got a hold of one cheap. I use this guy with one setup as a pusher. It's a 12 inch fan and it fits in there. From what I've read, the evo 8 AC fan is a pusher to start with, so I'm assuming that's the one you're looking at using. It might fit, but it'd probably take...
This is awesome! Thanks for adding them! I'm planning to pickup a full set once I get car running, tuned and ready for summer. Probably be a month or two on my end, but you've for sure got a set sold.
rtm sells aluminum and poly sets. Proabably the same manufacturer. Looks like the aluminum ones are half the price. Thanks for posting your review, I'm looking for a set as well, so at least I know to skip the poly ones. I did find a review of their aluminum ones, and it seems like that person...
What happens if you hit it with an impact wrench? Since it's not a constant torque on the nut and bolt, sometimes it can get it to spin the nut without spinning the bolt (or just not as far). Probably won't get all the way off, but might help you get it far enough to get a nut splitter on it.
So you've covered most of it by now, but If I'm taking over someone else's project (issues to fix or not), things's I'd run through to get a baseline of the project:Fuel/Air Filters, plug wires, spark plugs, brakes, tires, hoses and accessory belts should all be checked over (I usually replace...
That can't be overstated. Just riveting some aluminum flashing to seal between the fmic and the radiator made a world of difference for me. If you're running AC, the condenser adds quite a bit of resistance to air flow. Once you add an fmic, this becomes pretty noticeable. You need to make the...
Thanks for getting back Paul. After doing some talking with the local guys, it looks like my stock trailing arm will be fine. Changing the arms at all is overkill for me, but I'd like to go tubular while it's all apart. What's the life expecancy on the teflon bearings you use in your arms for a...
Site looks great, Paul! I see you're offering the rear tow bar. Are you also planning to offer the trailing bar and/or the lateral. I'm doing an awd swap on my spyder and I'm currently rebuilding the new rear suspension. I've been poking around at the megan trailing and tow bars the last couple...
I could easily be wrong on either of these, but at first glance:531631 - pics a little blury, but it looks like it might be for the boost control solenoid
531633 - kind of looks like a GM IAT pigtail. Is it possible your donor ran speed density?
Took me a minute to find a pic of someone with stock pipe, but look at the line coming off the valve cover and routing back to the intake. I think that's what you're looking at in your pic, but the extra heat shielding around it. the plastic nippple on the end inserts into the plastic/rubber...
I took the blanket off mine when my manifold cracked. I didn't like not being able to see that I had a huge exhaust leak. It was nice for keeping the under hood temps down before that, but I preferred the look without it anyway. I bought it to help with the temps, but upgrading my radiator and...
I don't see why they wouldn't. Fenders are all the same for 2G's. Doors are different for soft tops, but the hinges are in the same place, so the mounts should be fine. I'm planning to put them on my Spyder. I haven't seen any pics of them put on one, but I'm sure someone has.
I'm in the same spot with my swap. The Midwest in general does a number on the covers with the salted roads. Last one I saw in person was done without the cover. If you look at the vfaq closely, there's no cover on the one in the example pics either. I'm still planning to make one. We have a lot...
Yeah, I picked up one of the plus models last year and didn't get around to installing it. Now I'm really tempted to upgrade and put the one back on ebay or something.
I made a couple youtube videos on my channel a while back. The long and short of it is the cutter makes it way easier than just using a big drill bit. The blade teeth do break off as you're cutting, and there's quite a bit of debris. So eye protection is mandatory. Even with my goggles, I got a...
I'd be interested in a front splitter from Velox. I've met one of their guys, who runs a 1G at the track and an EVO daily. These are guys that understand our cars, but also are guys that put a ton of money into their research and development process making sure their parts offer real...
I've only done the swap on my 2GA spyder so any 1G guys that come along may know more. That said, assuming all the sensors are compatible, best bet is to pickup a wire harness extension for a 1G and cut off the half that plugs into the wiring harness, and solder it onto the ends of your 2G...
Hey guys, I'm taking a Human Computer Interaction course at school and my team is working on developing a simple reporting tool for evoScan logs. It takes a .csv log file like you get from evoScan and puts all the data into a SQL database and then builds some charts using the data. Right now, it...
I use extremepsi a lot for performance parts for the Spyder and rockauto.com for general maintenance. I've been using rockauto since I had my first eclipse (420a) over 10 years ago. Never had an issue with them.
Depends on your goals. I'm personally a fan of building a turbo'd 2.4, but others will argue the 2.0 can rev higher making it better for an all out drag car. I like fun street cars more, so I'm a fan of the bottom end power that a turbo'd 2.4 would offer.
