I am selling my 1995 eclipse GSX.. Very clean, runs very strong. list of mods:PROS: 14B, punishment FMIC, new machined cylinder head with ported/polished exhaust side, custom k&n intake, hallman manual boost controller, autometer boost guage/oil pressure guage, off-brand turbo timer...
outstanding. Thanks for your suggestions, they are greatly appreciated!Talked to some people @ jacks transmission, very easy fix.. The wastegate vacuum line was hooked up to my intake (not enough vacuum to open the wastegate).. Hooked up the vacuum line to the intake manifold, running like...
long story short, my hair dryer (T25) crapped out on me, and i needed a replacement.. instead of getting a newer t25, a buddy of mine had a decent 14b (no shaft play at all, spins like a champ) so we threw it on. Im hoping if i throw a new actuator on, it will fix it..
On that picture, the 2 bolts that are attached to the turbine housing is what im talking about.. Not where it is attached to the manifold where the flaps are located. I will remove those spacers, and test it out.
J_biggz:That pic helps out greatly in helping me explain.. On my turbo where the wastegate is bolted on, there are a bunch of spacers.. Im guessing this is keeping the wastegate closed? is spaced out a good 1/2 inch or more. not sure if that has anything to do with it.Maybe i can...
Yes thats exactly what i want. I want to be able to run a steady 16psi under WOT instead of it doing whatever it wants.. ITs running wide open right now, so a MBC would allow me to turn it down, correct?
Ok so then i should try to essentially "open" up the wastegate by tightening the bolt ? How should i proceed? Ill try to take a picture to show whats going on.. Its hard to explain.. Its not "unhooked" but it may be stuck closed. does that clarify at all?
I recently installed a 14B setup on my 2G.. The wastegate is completley closed (the car is running open boost).. The bolt that goes into the wastegate is "unscrewed" pretty far. I am going to install a MBC this weekend but i was wondering if this would be a waste of time, as long as that...
A buddy of mine said that the 95's are the only model to come with an eprom ECU.. He has link that i may buy (if my ECU is already eprom).. i have the walbro fuel pump, just need some injectors.. gotta get the boost controller hooked up as well.. I already have that manifold, and i figured a...
Thanks man i will definitely look into that manifold.. Can you usually find them for a good price?also, i have a custom exhaust mani.. i just need another slim fan for it to fit. im sure that will help with the spooling issue
Just got a 14B and a OEM 2G ported/polished head installed. Boy does it run smooth... Going to have to get used to the 14B not spooling as quickly, but it sure does pull more in the top end.. Pushing around 17-19 psi, and it actually holds at that psi longer. Excited to see what i can...
Its definitely oil. Its bluish. I check the oil every day. I have to add oil to it every once and a while. im hoping and preying its only the turbo seals.. When i rev it up in neutral, it also emits the smoke.
BIGEAZY:I went to the shell thing a couple weekends ago. Not too many DSMs that i saw but there were some nice rides there. A lot of police cruisers trying to shark attack folks too. Kind of uncomfortable if u know what im saying.
So my car emits white-ish blue smoke ONLY accelerating from a stop. WOT = no smoke after that.Compression Tests Results:(1. 135 psi) (2. 135 psi) (3. 135 psi) (4. 130 psi)Leak Down Test Results:all cylinders hold "shop pressure" no leakage AT ALL.The shop i took it to...
Shell gas is my favorite. A bit more pricey than others, but my car runs like a champ with Shell gasoline in it. In certain areas, "Rebel" gas stations have 100 octane race fuel. Sometimes i mix half and half 100 octane & 91 octane. She loves this mixture. Great performance, and it smells...
Compression test results:130-135 across the boardLeak down test results:
Good across the boardTurbo checked for leaks, none foundWhite smoke remains.. Scheduling appointment to remove the head and replace anything that looks jacked up. Thanks for all the advice! Hopefully no more...
It's the one on the far left of the header.. I'll have to take a closer look to determine if it's broken inside of the head or not.. No leaks that I know of.. Thank you for your insight and knowledge! Much appreciated!
I just noticed one of my header bolts is missing. Could I fix it temporarily by using a fitted bolt to screw right in? I'm trying to avoid taking the whole header off and installing the stud.. Any suggestions?
Was trying to fix my turbo timer when i ran across this. Its attached to a small black box right next to the gas pedal.. its a small button type of thing. i had the vehicle running, i pushed it, it did nothing. Just curious. Thanks!
I tried myself a couple of times buy became frustrated when it read 60 psi exactly for every cylinder. I even recorded the session pointing my camera at the gauge each time to make sure I wasn't losing my mind. I also thought it could have been a faulty gauge? The MFI circuit thing is located...
lol ok. Im gonna stop trying to be MR MECHANIC guy, and take the car to a shop. Even though they charge 100 freaking dollars for a compression test, its probably cheaper than me blowing up my engine doing this simple task. Because if the guage said 60 PSI all the way across, either my engine...
I would say blue smoke, oil. Doesnt run hot at all ever since I had the radiator flushed.. i did notice it ran a bit hot while traveling up longer than normal hills, etc.. but not anymore... compression test = get the tool, take out the spark plugs, and pressurize it right? The smoke smells...
I have a 95 GSX. 6 bolt, according to receipts, was rebuilt 5-10k miles ago. Intake, exhaust, FMIC, motor mounts, 15-16 psi boost (im guessing something was done to up the boost, just dont know what) upgraded flywheel, walbro fuel pump, EGR valve removed / blocked. She runs great, all of the...
Im new to the DSM game and was wondering if you guys know anybody who works on them for a good price? Also interested in a weekend meet up or something. Been looking for DSMers here in the springs. Live on the north end of town and dont usually see too many.
Same problem here. White smoke. It happens when i turn the car on when its cold or warm, and when i start from a stop ( at a red light, etc.) When you say coolant for the turbo, is that engine oil? or something else. (noob question, i know). all in all, the car runs like a champ. The guy i...
Same problem here. Sometimes when I stop at a stoplight, and accelerate, a small amount of white smoke shoots out of exhaust. just changed the oil 200 miles ago.. The car runs strong.. It is a bit embarassing though, lol.
