My EVO IX RS has the 3 gauges where the radio normally goes. Im assuming Thats what you have swapped into your 2G? The temp gauge is oil temperature that uses a specific drain plug with the sensor built it. Not sure if it would read correctly off the stock coolant temp
For New York state inspection your catalytic converter needs to be installed on the car and only has to pass a visual inspection.
Since your car is a 95 it does not need to pass an OBDII inspection. Even a non functional converter would pass a visual inspection. Also other than having the...
Thats pretty encouraging your set up is similar to what i have right now. Do you just adjust boost to dial your car into that ET or do you have to adjust timing or anything else in the tune. Do you feel like the AEM EBC is a key part of making it consistent?
That's the kind of information i am looking for.I would like to hear some more from people running auto about getting them staged and strategy deal with waiting 5 or 6 seconds for a slower car before you get your light. I watch them stage for a heads up race and i see a big part of getting...
I would like to know what set ups people are using to race in index or bracket racing in the 11.50 second range. What turbo, transmission, fuel, MBC or EBC etc are you using and why did you choose it?I have raced in the bracket class at the shootout the last few years and its been a lot of...
It looks right side up in the picture. Hook hangars are above the pipe a the front one loops underneath. That's how all the ones I have seen are set up.
With the hangars pointing up does the muffler go to the passenger side or drivers side? It needs to exit on the drivers side to be a 2g. I'm sure it's awd not sure it's 2g. Looks like it could be a 1g they exit on the passenger side.
I believe the FWD has a sharp bend where is goes around the fuel tank. AWD is more straight like the one pictured and goes along the drive shaft and through the hump in the middle AWD fuel tank next to the diff. Then the muffler exits in the stock location but at an angle.
What about the totally different suspension between the 1g and 2g? I would think the 1g would be better for a budget. There is a lot less to maintain or repair. Only 2 front ball joints. Compared to all the arms and joints front and rear on the 2g.
You should be able to unbolt the lower ball joint with a wrench and strike the knucke with a hammer to loosen the ball joint. That way you don't tear the boot like with a pickle fork. That will give you enough clearance to remove the axle.
Have you checked the hose that hooks to the underside of the cap and dips down to the bottom of the coolant expanson tank? If its missing or even present and cracked near the top it can't suck the coolant back into the engine. and can cause the coolant to over flow.

I have had good luck removing the whole assembly and pressing the axle out this way with my cheap harbor freight press. Most of the time nothing gets damaged. The last one I did was a rear axle on my 95 GSX it was the worst. I had to heat the hub with a torch and use the press...
Im curious to see how you make out with the tow bar. I used one a few times and with no tongue weight it shoved me side ways sometimes when trying to stop or slow down to make a turn. Also do you plan on using safety chains and mounting the street tires back on for transport?
I was trying to flash Tephramod 96530706.This is the case to my 02 5spd eclipse ecu. This is the board number from the 02 ecu. This is the adapter with the 95 ecu hooked up as it sits currently other than the main relay is pluged back in noiw.
Because Im cheap, They pop up once in a while @ the local pick a part and cost only $25. People with 3Gs use evo roms when they go turbo. For now I put the stock 95 ecu from my parts car in the laser so I can move it around. untill I get a new cable to try.
Good point about the bolts. missed the part where you were putting it in a 2g that makes it more involved you need to use the 1g manifold to match and that raises more problems with the coils and sensors etc.
your fine interchanging the heads. The compression ratio is not the problem with the non turbo pistions its the thin ring lands. Non turbo block is okay with turbo pistons. you won't have oil squirters and there is some debate on that but lots of people run without them.
Im sure that it read and test wrote perfectly one time each, half way through the first flash my relay clicked a few times and everything stopped. I don't post much cause I know my english skills suck. When I posted I had been beating my head against the wall for a few days trying to figure...
I think you only need to change the knock request to 3E when logging a 95-96 ecu. Since your using an evo ecu you should leave it at the default 26 setting in your evoscan edit data settings.
Can you use evo scan or a universal OBD II scan tool to read monitor status or check if you can see the TPS change when you sweep the throttle? After my cable failed halfway through a flash and bricked my ECU it would not do either of those but it did before.
I am new to using ECU flash but not new to flashing I have worked in both GM and Toyota dealerships and have flashed with both the GM TECH II and Toyota techstream factory tools So I have a done plenty of flashes just that stuff is more user friendly. I have just installed a 3g Eclipse Ecu into...
