Yes this is one reason. Second reason is the pipe will never need to be replaced. Third reason is the whole car is custom made so there is no kit i can buy.
Alright, so I am looking for a 3" stainless steel catback exhaust for my monte build. Does anyone know if dual 2.5" exhaust would work nicely? would it cound like crap" I loved my 3" magnaflow oval can. I don't know what I should do.
4500 is still a slow spool. you all should really research a little bit about the gtx3076r You would be amazed that it flows 56lb/min and you can spool to 27 psi around 3800 and it can make the power you want no problem.
STEEL COMPRESSOR WHEELS = JUNK!!!
look at the gtx3076R and let me know what you think. The turbo will spool great having a turbo with a billet compressor wheels. stay away from steel compressor wheels!!!!!!
IT DOESNT MATTER ANYMORE IF THE ECU IS EPROM OR NOT.
just look on ECMTuning, Inc.they can convert it.just use your stock ecu from your car send it in and ## done
I am going to just build a adapter to put a 16AN fitting into a block of aluminum that will bolt to the back of the head. then i will do the jay racing water pump an fitting adapter. and use an inline thermostat.
that helps a little but i dont see enough parts to fun a full circular coolant system. if i block off the back how do i hook up the other radiator hose?
I am doing a RWD 4g63 set up and I would like to remove the thermostat housing from the rear of the engine. I could really use the extra 2 inches of rear spacing. I need a full kit if possible. please let me know if any companies make a retrokit for this.
sorry that wont work. I already have dsmlink v3 full and the ecu is all done.plus I have everything for the swap. I am just wondering what on the harness i can get rid of. and how to do it.
harness is from a 1996 gsxSo I am doing a engine swap into a 1984 Monte Carlo SS and I was wondering if anyone has a detailed write up on taking the wiring harness and taking off wires you dont need and getting it ready for the swap.
So I will be trying to lower the squish on my short block in order to lower knock and raise engine efficiency. I would like to see how many of you have actually checked your piston to deck clearance. as well as your piston to valve clearance.I will be using +1mm valves and i am running...
no tranny or transfercase, everything else from the driveshaft back.500$ for the old stock one.1000$ for the one with all new bearings, poly bushings, new rear axels.
I just bought this the GTX3076R with the tial vband housing.
cost was $1900 garret said I shoupd make 500hp with the .63AR and I could make up to 650HP with the .83AR hot side housing.
I just picked up the GTX3076R (billet wheel). I also have the tial SS vband housing .68 A/R. They said I can get 500HP no problem with my supporting mods. Also garret said if I get the .83 A/R I can max the GTX3076R at about 650HP. I will be running E85.heavy head porting
evo3 intake...
my monte weighed in at 3250lbs with a all cast iron 350 with a big 700r4. so i am estimating that my car will be about 2800lbs when completed. so its not as heavy as you think.
Ok so there have been some changes to my plan.
* I traded my gt3076r for the gtx3076r
* I traded the t3 twin scroll for a tial vband housing
* I also traded my 2 - 38mm MV-S for 1 - MV-R
lol no. my base fuel will be 60 psi of fuel pressure. and I should be running around 36 psi of boost on my high power tune and 20 psi on my street tune. The guy who builds these injectors was just being conservative at 90psi. he said I could run more but i dont think i will need to.ok...
dual walbro 255 pumps going into a 6AN line. you get better fuel atomization of the fuel when it exits the injector the higher the pressure the fuel is under. my injectors are good up to 90psi.
OK everyone, My name is Jason and I am new to this site. But I have a great project for people to drule over. I recently got rearend by a drunk driver in my 1996 GSX eclipse. So I have decided to put the engine into my 1984 Monte Carlo SS (since my 4G63t was already build and have DSMLINK V3). I...
i am swaping this motor into a rwd car. I am looking for rwd transmisiions that will fit my bolt pattern. 5 or 6 speed is prefferable. so on top of that i have many parts for sale since i got rear ended. please help. post or pm me.
Ok this is the fix for people out there with a 95-96 turbo eclipse that switch to a flashable 98-99 ecu. You must install the 97-99 cam sensor and re wire it. I did it by cutting my 1996 cam sensor so i could use the pigtail to make it so I didn't have to cut my factory harness. My Problem is...
its not the tune. we cant even tune it because the timing log looks like this. take a pen and paper. now scrible really fast up and down as you go across the page. tony at ums tuning told me to figure it out and bring it back to get the tune.well you do have to switch the plug wire...
doesnt the base timing just com e from the position of cams and crank.. because that is good. i got the car home and will be replacing cam sensor and the crank sensor too since i will be in the area. then i will be checking all the wires to the ecu.
Ok so I have a 1996 gsx i installed a 1998 ecu in so i could tune it after my rebuild. everything works pretty well. so i took the car to UMS to get a dyno tune done. My timing was logged and it looked like a ricter scale for earthquakes. I ended up with 15 psi and 168HP. we are thinking my...
i have not bothered looking because people are talking about it in this discussion. I have not asked anything other than what someone else commented. I just asked for clarification on a previous post.
