Does it smoke under boost? If yes then I would check the oil feed line for the turbo. I just rebuilt my engine for a smoke issue and after rebuild it still smoked, so I researched the turbo oil feed line and moved it from the filter housing to the head and now it runs like a raped ape.

You want an experienced person to bore or hone out the cylinder walls. Once this is done, usually by a mchine shop, they can put it together for you as well. You can do as i did, read up on this site, buy all the parts you want, and take it to a shop and tell em to slap er together.

Boost leak test and found leaks in the throttle body seals. Fixed leaks at upper inter cooler pipe and biss. Also, fixed loud noise on crank up which was a very loose starter. Next up, to fix throttle body seals and install check valve on pcv line.

Well, I went with a 1g swap built with pistons, rods, bearings etc. Also got a new top, and working a deal on a new turbo and fmic. Start the rebuild on Tuesday.
