I've seen that mani on Facebook and was looking to buy it but the guy had no proof it being a mach v mani so I didn't get it. I searched around on old threads and a bunch to see if mach v ever had anything like that and never found anything on it so I passed
That is the exact one I bought and mine doesnt have the mounting points either but is because that is a 91-95 case not the one found in the 96+ elantra with the big hump on the bottom instead of the straigh bottom. The 96+ Elantra is obd2 which is when they decided to mount the crank sensor on...
Yea very true if you have access to a welder or can get it done cheap.Yea this is kinda what this is meant to do. Specially all of us with a 6 bolt swap would benefit from having the crank sensor from a 2g directly on the pump rather than having to make a wiring harness or have to buy the...
I bought the 95 sonata case and it is identical to the 6 bolt mitsu WITHOUT the mounting points for the crank sensor, the 96 sonata obd2 pump does indeed have the mounting points for the crank sensor but it is different on the bottom where it should be flat. The hump on the bottom is way curved...
Yea i think im gonna get it its still an oem case wich is what i wanted, plus is $95 out the door:). The only reason i wanted the straight cut gears is because of the stubby shaft i planned to use that came with the bse kit i already have and supposedly the stubby is bad like you said to use...
Ok so i have searched around but i havent been able to find a definite answer on this and i just wanna make sure before i pull the trigger on this pump. Im in the middle of a 6 bolt build and I need to buy the front case for my motor. I have looked at different vendors trying to find the best...
Those are sold ar Oreillys for like $40, they go on anything with a sunroof. Ive seen them in different lengths so they are universal not vehicle specific and use double sided 3m tape. I had one on my old eclipse and have one now on my Avalanche. Here's the link...
I already tried but they advised me against it. I told them I wanted to try in on a 6 bolt since theres really no info on it and he said it wouldn't be worth it on a 6 bolt since 12mm is big enough, which I agree. I also tried to tell them that I have a revised 7 bolt that I would still try this...
Well it looks like I might just end up sticking with the 6 bolt L19's after all for this build. But I do have a revised 7 bolt as a spare that I would like to try this mod on, if anyone can give me a part number on a set of these or point me in the right direction of where to get them it would...
Well I think I'm going to give this mod a shot and see what happens, I talked to my machinist and he thinks is a good idea as well after I showed him this thread. We went to force engineering website and saw that this mod is offered in their stage 3 build good for 900hp so obviously they are...
So what ever came of this? I have looked all over about this subject but it only brings me back to this thread. Were there ever any results or conclusions about this mod? I'm in the process of getting my 6 bolt spare block machined and was contemplating doing the 1/2 inch stud mod but this...
Good work on cleaning the gas tank and getting the subframe all clean and painted:rocks:, i did all that to mine when i did the swap as well as the prothane bushings wich was a pain in the ass:barf: specially to remove all the old worn out bushings:notgood:
I have read mixed views on it as well but never have seen real world results from people actually losing a bottom end due to not having one. But at the same time for some reason mitsubishi decided to put one in (2g 7 bolt) so there must have been a reason why it was added and still in their...
Nice thanx again, how about a girdle? I have seen lots of guys get away with not using it but I feel like is some cheap insurance, what are your thoughts on that?
Ok so as some of you may know my stroker blew up a while back and i made a few threads asking for advice on what internals to use. After a few debates on selling the dsm, keeping her fwd, going stroker, 6 or 7 bolt etc. i finally decided to keep her, convert to awd, stay 2.0 and go with a 6 bolt...
Oh I see now so you plan on using an entire honda drive train, I didnt realize you were planning on staying fwd. My mistake I should have read a little better. Another question I have is why choose such a heavy platform for a torqueless motor, the reason hondas can be fast is ### they are...
Honduh B series is a dsm? Its a damn shame, I too was into honduhs there for a while but got wise when a stock saturn smoked me lol Anyways good luck with the build it definitely is interesting. By the way what do you plan on using for a tranny being that honda motors pre-2000 rotate counter...
+1 to swap it. Time comsuming? Yes, difficult? Maybe, if you dont have the right tools, mechanical and welding capabilities, a loyal buddy and the patience of a saint lol. If you have all these then is pretty easy and freaking rewarding in the end, the sense of accomplishment once you have all...
65 ft lbs? Are you using regular headbolts or arp studs? Reason i ask is because with arp people like myself torque them down up to 100 ft lbs. Usually done in sequence of 30 ft lbs, 60, then 90 or higher. But again we need to know what fasteners you are using, i have never replaced any...
You need to run the "stroker" pistons because of the longer rods(stock is 150mm). The wristpin is moved up higher in the piston to offset the size of the longer rods otherwise they pop out higher than your block. As far as size I dont seem to understand what you mean the size depends on the...
Your buddy must have been intoxicated lol no you can not do that these cars are unibody which means the shell is the frame of the car they arent 2 separate pieces. You can swap all body panels (except the rear obviously) including interior pieces. As for intake whether your talking manifold or...
This has to be a troll, how are you planning on TWIN turbocharging a motor with only one exhaust manifold? You must be talking about a compound set up right?
I have the same can that you do and I ran into the same issue, so what I did to make it a sealed can was remove the filter on top and put a hose to that nipple from my intake pipe to have vaccume. There's no way to filter it but at least you seal the system and as long as you empty it often you...
Thanx for the replies guys I really appreciate everyone's input I guess my piston choice is made up and from my research I'm pretty sure ill be getting MAP rods:hellyeah:
Your tranny will bolt right up to the 4g64 so keep that, axles will stay the same as well. Now as far as swapping the motor you mean swapping the block with a 2.4 and keeping the turbo head for a hybrid or actually going SOHC for some reason? Explain a little better if you can.
So as some of you may know my spyder blew up last year sitting in my driveway:cry: http://www.dsmtuners.com/forums/newbie-forum/444979-totally-blows-r-i-p-2-3-stroker.html I have been really busy working out of town alot but managed to do an awd swap while she was down. Im staying local for a...
Hey whats up man i see you are from CO, i live in Rifle. If you are looking for a good machine shop that does 4g63's there is one in GJ called ASF Machine, the owner's name is Joe hes an ex dsm guy he went subbie now but he's definitely the guy to go to. There is a bunch in Denver but thats a...
Enkei Rpf1 ftw, I know they aren't on the list but they look amazing and make any color dsm look great. Also the xxr 522 or 527 with the concave design look way good too.
On turbo dsms it is not recommended to replace your crank pulley with a lightweight one since it helps dampen vibrations caused by the rotating assembly, although there is other options such as fluidamper or similar. You can probably replace your accesory pulleys to lighten it up a bit but not...
If its got rust is pretty much done as on all dsm's unless you have extensive body/paint restoration experience. Or I guess if you know of a good body shop that can do the work cheap then yea keep it and restore it. Sucks to see more and more dsm's getting parted out or crushed every day:(
Yea man don't do it I've seen that spyder on Craigslist for a while is not worth it, if he's not coming down on price then he's on dope for the work and parts needed to get it back on the road.
Look kid I don't know how you are but this whole thread you made is kinda pointless, you contradict yourself quite a bit from your opening post so I'm guessing your either very young or a serious noob. I don't wanna be a dick as you re calling people around here for trying to lead you down the...
This is by far the easiest way to tell, the vin on the block is right under the head right besides your thermostat housing above the bell housing on the passenger side. Is in the little flat spot you can't miss it once you get to looking there. You might have to clean that area up a bit...
Nope, they are 19's Privat Netz.Mine had 52,386 miles when i bought it back in 04 and now even tho is blown up at the moment:cry: she still has this many:
Yup thats true you are 100% correct, my driveway has kind of a steep incline so that would have rolled it straight into my Avalanche and wouldve been worse, a blown dsm and a wrecked pickup lolHere's more pics of the carnage:
Yea I know disconnecting the battery doesn't stop the motor but I figured if the turbo timer is what's keeping it going and somehow malfunctioned this would kill power to the timer but that wasn't the case. I do think this was a freak accident as I'm taking it all apart now and can't seem to...
