There are more than three of these in the world. I've read about the kit in a magazine and saw two of them at a good guys car show in orlando. Hey start with a shitty car and hack it up. Leave the shitty engine in it and slap on a crappy fiberglass body and bed. In the end its just a riced out...
So because I get the letters in one word jumbled, I'll blame my phone, your going to discredit my post. I've never towed with a dsm and I'm willing to bet neither have you. Ergo, neither one of use are qualified enough to say whether its damaging or not. Funny though, blowing a transmission up...
You pretty much repeated what I said. :nono: only more like a dick. Being pushed down hill? Solved by upgraded breaks. Pulling up a hill, upgraded powertrain. Stress on the chassis is my only concern. What I really don't get is your attack on my understanding of physics... is it because I didn't...
I just want to point out that the final drive ratio of a mt 2g is is only slightly lower than a mid 90s s10 pickup. The only real disadvantage is tha dsm's have it structural. Im planning on pulling a small trailer from WV to FL with my 2g. It has an aftermarket clutch and pp, better than a...
Where did the adapter harness for the cam sensor come from? I would suggest checking to make sure it's wired correctly. Also how do you plan on defeating the misfire code from using the 1g cas? Recheck the firing order on your plug wires. One coil will go to the outside plugs 1-4 the other wires...
Those dicks deserve to be locked in a dyno room with no ventilation while someone does a couple of pulls with their truck. The disrespect some people have is amazing.
I wouldn't suggest using an na motor because of the higher compression. To just 'slap' a super charger from a regal isn't going to happen without a lot of custom work even if it was possible. Your best chance would be a centrifigal sc and custom brackets. I wouldn't suggest using a stock crank...
Go over to galantvr4.org and check out the forsale section. I believe this car is in there. 500-800 with a bad motor aslong as the interior is still decent ie the seams of the seat are not tore open. Inspect every inch of the aws lines for rot. If they are rotted you might as well ditch it, the...
Fuel trims. Vta increases your fuel trims thereby making the car run rich all the time not just when your bov goes woosh. Another side effect of jacked fuel trims is encountering fuel cut.
So here is the deal. I swapped a 6bolt into my 95 tsi.
I have link v2. I can't get the car to idle well both hot and cold, its one or the other. I have enabled non-95-96 cas in link. I thought that that ment you didn't have to swap spark plug wires but on my setup I do. I remember reading...
You sir are awesome thank you very much. Im respraying the roof as well, not sure if I am going to use an oem color... what color is it? Mine has no clearcoat left on it...
So im a little color blind and im trying to figure out what color my car is. Its the one in the avatar. I ask because the firewall plaque is gone and the paint code thread doesn't have a chip chart for 95. I need the name and code. Thanks... to me its grey...
My wife of four years decided after having a kid she wanted to behave like a kid and left me. Only plus side to this is my talon gets all my loving now and not that heartless (explative)Oh, 4g63 car or your going to hate yourself for being impatient.
For the first time in months I drove it. Only a stub of a downpipe, no ideahow much gas was in it I freaking drove it. Almost made me cry. Ive worked on everyone elses cars my whole life and this time it was mine. I was shaking so badly I had to stop because I couldn't hold the clutch in. It...
Today was a huge day for my talon.
for starters I sold an hx40 and got some funding for my car.
traded a blown 50trim for a great set of get chromies.
Received and installed my aeromotive afpr
Bolted on my exhaust and downpipe.
Ordered new corner lights.
That pretty much sums it up... so...
Its not that surprising that they knew your uncles name. People are so forthgiving of information on the internet. For instance I googled my wives name and city and it brought up a page with several of her family members. Try it yourself. Seriously. If you have had a facebook, myspace, if you...
I will try to make this as clear as I can for youThe front balance shaft has two bearings
The rear shaft only has one.
the front shaft is oiled through the bearings
The rear shaft is oiled through the shaft.
you may remove the rear shaft and install a stubby without loss of oil pressure...
Lol, not a bad guy, just thought I would save you the keystrokes... I spent a week researching trailer hitches once. I would never put one of the ebay ones on my car. Drawtite makes the best hitch I have researched unfortunatly I don't think they make it anymore.
I hate to sound like jusmx141 but search button and google are your friend. A quick google will net you several threads on HERE that are nothing but trailer hitches.
I don't believe there are provisions for the front and rear motor mount since the 2gs used the transmission to mount them to. Its doable but early 7bolt motors are not really desirable (yeah yeah post your argument) a 6bolt would be much better all around.
I would agree with 2500-3000 w/the evo wheels. Just be prepaired for loads of wireing issues, oil leaks, and be ready for a full service as mentioned before. I would also agree with finding a lower mileage stock eclipse over a high mileage abused one. My experiance with these cars is once you...
I would strongly suggest pulling the ecu out and opening the case up. What you should be looking for is acid damage to the pc board and smell for a fishy smell. Chances are your ecu has leaking caps. Also check for a burned up isc chip. And it wouldn't hurt to check your isc for a shorted or...
Ahh... nothing like the first time you feel an awd get squirrely in the tail. My first experiance was a 2.3 with a bastard 14b on it, gotta love that press you feel as you sink into the seat deeper and deeper.
I've tried this manifold and it fit like crap. They sent the wrong thread bolt but that didn't matter since the collector was too close to the bolt holes. But... for free its not like its going to hurt it if you have to oblong the holes a little to get it to fit. That was really my only...
I started mine for the first time since I slung a rod threw the block. dont believe me? Heres proof: YouTube - ‪First start project RogueTSI‬‏
Im seeing "danger to manifold" flashing follows by the floor board falling out. Please tell me that's a sales prop. I count at least 3 stages all completely different set ups. Way cool though, kinda like an engine cutaway.
Ahh good reads... the drain discussion could probably be edited down to one page since many of the posts in it said the samethings over and over and over...So how about boost creep at lower boost levels, 22-25psi? I was planning on an external gate off the o2 housing, probably going with...
Yes you can delete you map sensor, however it will throw a code. There is an adapter you can get that allows you to connect a piece of vacuum line to your map sensor and retain it. Btw I believe the correct term is mdp - manifold differential pressure sensor, someone correct me if im wrong.
To...
So im considering running a holset hx40 6 blade with a Bullseye housing and I have a few questions, well facts I would like confirmed.
First off, where is the preferred place to oil from and at what max pressure? I already have -4an oil feed line and an adapter for the ofh, and to get a banjo...
It takes a little bit of driving for your fuel trims to correct themselves, and of your constantly unhooking your battery, they all reset to 100% everytime the ecu looses power.Sent from my DROIDX using Tapatalk
This log doesn't really tell us anything since it was only a half throttle pull. you need a WOT pull to red line really tell anything. Also I recomend looking at your fuel trims. If you see a trend in them favoring one side or the other of 100% then you know you need to add or remove fuel...
Here is why I love my dsm:
If im frugal I can always get my money back
It doesn't complain when I don't have time to wrench on it
Never needs a diaper changed, only the oil everyonce in a while
It doesn't get mad when I test drive other cars
If I break something it isn't am emergency, I...
You guys are missing the point. A narrowband o2 gauge is useless for reading a/f. A narrow band o2 is only a switch between high and low. It does not provide a real reading.Sent from my DROIDX using Tapatalk
The simple diagram: http://www.sedsm.org/imagehosting/32649ff05718c0b9.jpgOr you can go to VFAQ Site - Visual Frequently Answered Questions - DSM modifications - intake - 2g maf in a 1g tel/GVR4
Have you put an oil pressure gauge on the head to verify? 15psi to the head is more than enough. Do you have noisy lifters? If so a quick search for noisy lifters will give you plenty of reading and many suggestions on how to remidy the problem. You can increase the oil pressure by...
Narrow bands o2 gauges ARE worthless. I would definitely get a palm logger. With a palm logger you can monitor your fuel trims if you see a trend in those in one direction or the other you will know if your needing more or less fuel.
I hate that I own two, have only driven my second one and on the way home from buying it it decides to poke a hole in the block.
also hate that I can only keep one and had to steal the motor from the first one to put into the second one.
Okay ill play. Dsm ftw... why, its simple. We have a much better aftermarket base then a cobalt and a neon will always be a neon. I have driven a lightly modded srt4 and it was disappointing to say the least. Gobs of torque steer and wheel spin, I know you said pretend its awd but if that's...
blkonblkawd is on to something here.... great job translating, you either work in a shop or a parts store... female descriptions...ROFLSounds like what the previous owner was trying to tell you was that the stock intercooler isn't enough to support a 16g turbo for long duration WOT runs...
