Just pulled the bushings out, they are just awful quality. They also arent even cylindrical. So I guess that would mean the oem bushings would not fit. But boy are these junk.I think it may be that the nut that holds the slider (how you adjust it) might not be stopping it from moving, and that...
They are not very old. Not many miles, it just seems to be junk quality. What exactly do you need me to measure? The O.D of where the bushing is inserted right?
I have this, I believe ebay, front camber kit installed. They are pretty new (still clearly shiney). They already have a load of play. I don't really need them since my car is not that low. Is there anyway to install poly bushings in these, do the oem replacement poly bushings fit in these...
This is my old head, I thought it would be no good looking at the deformity of the circle. Ignore the scratch, I will be getting it machined if the deformed circle is okay. You are saying that they should not be an issue?
I just picked up this head (Think i got screwed on it). It is complete, I really only need the bare head. Is it typical that the coolant passages are not circular? Should i be worried about running it?
Since it has yet to mentioned, take your oil cap off with the car running and see if you have excessive blow by. It will most definitely cause oil to get forced by your valve cover gasket.
I know you have responded to multiple "what should my gap be" questions. Heres another one for you. lol. The most ill ever push my motor is 25 psi with a 20g (if that). What would you consider a good gap for 1rst and 2nd rings (6 bolt)?
I will be honest. I dropped in the npr rings without checking gap, I assumed and knew they were oem replacements and I figured they were gapped correctly. I was not running lean (according to my wideband). Really the only thing i can think of is that I got bad gas. Im only running 23 psi on a...
The tune has been perfect for me. 11 afr in boost. Timing stock for now. I was a little unsure of the npr being OEM. I may have well broken a ring landing in not too sure. I just purchased another set of npr because they seem to be trustworthy. The mistake could have laid elsewhere.
Ok guys. I have been running NPR piston rings for about 8000 miles (on a fresh rebuild) did a slight pull today and then the car ran awful. Compression check results in 55 psi in first cylinder and crazy amounts of blow by. I dont really see why it would be the piston. I am pretty confident that...
Yes, they are nice quality. But this is just a much more cost effective. Plus there is no need for a press like there is with Black_gst's inserts.I would also like to include that the 1g FRONT insert might fit better in the 2g rear mount. Just because it is not as wide as the 1g rear insert...
Just thought i should add that it was not warped, they are indeed different sizes (measured with my caliper). Althought both inside diameters are nearly identical the outside diameter is different.
I am not sure that is the actual issue. It just seems logical because of how the disk would act without springs. I was hoping to get some feedback on if this is how it would act. I am not sure if it is transmission related or not.
I think i may have popped my springs out of my clutch disk. Could anyone explain what will happen. When i go from off the gas to on it, the car free revs like 300 rpm and then theres a loud bang. It will catch and then its perfect, I could floor it to 7k without any issues. It will also happen...
So, I bought a hx35 with a bep .70 housing and noticed I had a exhaust leak between the vband on the housing and my downpipe. After trying multiple times attempting to get it to seal. I figured out that the sizes are different. The bep vband is about .22in bigger than my 3" vband. So when...
Just wanted to update for you guys. This is a 2g rear mount with the 1g REAR prothane insert. It fit snug (didnt need a vice or press or anything). It does stick out VERY LITTLE. I had some urethane laying around so i put a little on so i could be sure it would stay in place. I have done 3 or 4...
Wow, that's exactly what it measured out to be with my caliper, but I figured someone would be using a tape measure or something lol. So looks like I will be using the 1g rear mount insert in my 2g. HOW HAS THIS NEVER BEEN BROUGHT UP?!?!?! INSTEAD OF THOSE AWFUL 2G INSERTS. I will update when I...
I got some measurements today. It is 2.8 (diameter) by 1.5 (the width of mount). I need some measurements of a 1g front and 1g rear motor mount prothane inserts to see if this will fit! Please guys, i know someone needs to have one of these in their shop that they can measure. This would be...
I was told maybe it was the front insert from a 1g that fits perfect in a 2g rear. He is going to clarify for me today. I dont know how this has never been brought up. This would be a break through for me and many other 2g guys. I have the dimensions of a gutted 2g mount, i need the dimensions...
I happen to post about being on the hunt for a FULL polyurethane rear motor mount insert for a 2g. Someone had told me they used the 1g rear prothane motor mount insert. He also sent me some pictures to verify. Can i get some verification, he doesnt seem to be 100% sure if it was a front or rear...
Im a little confused on what you mean by adding "rake". I know i will have to get it realigned, not worried about that. Also confused on how toe does not cause a pull and how camber causes a pull.
He is the fourth person who has said my caster on the passenger is only .1-.2 off of theirs. A couple said their drivers was higher than 3.2 (im assuming from their bushings being flipped already). I wish i was able to find out the number they rolled off the factory line with so i could know...
I should have specified by saying it is not the original factory upper control arm. Camber was no different with original (appeared to be) upper control arm. I was clearly able to see the camber off on the passengers side, thats why i changed the upper control arm.
Now, were the words out of a moderators mouth about it helping wheel hop false? Or is that true? I am just going to ignore the camber issue(since its fixed with the ingalls). But if flipping the drivers bushing does help wheel hop (an explanation would be sweeeeet, if you know why lol) then I...
That was a slight concern for me, thats why i picked up the ingalls. I just don't know where to go from here. Just brush it off? and get a new alignment with the ingalls and get the tow back to 0 with the new ride height? Or should i look deeper into it? Should i bother adding caster to the...
Ensure your flash wire is wired correctly. I used a headphone jack for mine and I found out that the outside wire strands are not supposed to be wired into everything. It was giving me all kinds of problems. I was still able to datalog, just not flash.
The last alignment i had on stock suspension was:
Left
CASTER:3.2
Camber:-.2RIGHT
Caster:5.2
Camber:-1.1and of course both toes were all messed up, but he zeroed them out to perfectly 0. There was no change from before and after for caster and camber (no adjustment obviously)...
I have read that thread sooo many times. It just seems to be a bit jumbled and hard to understand. I checked my compression arms, neither look bent (i know i probably wouldnt be able to see it). My drivers compression arm bushing is offset AWAY from the ball joint, while the other side (drivers)...
not sure if it was even in an accident. Does the caster being off affect the camber? or is it the same thing that is causing two problems (EX. knuckle is bent and making both my camber and caster off)? If i correct the caster by flipping the bushing (should take it down into a better spot from...
I have brand new struts, so I'm sure it isn't that. My camber was -1.1 on that side. I bought the ingall camber kit and that is fixed. I mean could anything else cause off camber and bad caster besides a bent spindle? I may just not worry about it. Should I still flip my drivers side bushing to...
thanks for the info. This car is mainly a daily driver that i would like to bring to the track (drag) in the near future. It is fwd so i dont plan on going too crazy. The front left of the car also had a camber issue (with stock ride height) that i solved with a front camber kit. Would this...
I got an alignment yesterday. The toe and camber is fine and not my concern. My front left caster is 3.2* while the passenger (right) side is 5.2*. Does this sound like oem specs or may something be bent. I know i can flip my drivers side bushing on the compression arm (can i buy a 1995 arm and...
I see what your saying. I would toss 20 out for the software since im in need of it pretty bad. I do believe almost all fwd guys would go with ecuflash if it had boost control. Since DSMlink does have it! I would LOVE to see this happen.
That actually makes sense. It was just that STM's site says..."The KONI Sports feature an externally adjustable spring seat for ride height adjustment and can lower the car approxamately 25mm." <<< straight from the website.
That's what I tried to do. It looks to be the same. Its hard to tell though. I dont understand why koni would make it so you can raise your car 1 inch but not be able to lower it the same.
Koni yellows ARE height adjustable. Feel free to read STM's website. Once again, my question is why is there only 2 spots for me to clip in the perch? Is the lower one lowering the car or is it maintaining stock ride height? I know i can buy coilover sleeves, ect to adjust ride height. I didnt...
I just got them in the mail. I already took out my old rear struts. The koni yellows (part number 8041 1208SPORT) are supposed to be adjustable. I took them out and looked at them, they have 2 spots for you to clip a C-clip into and then the perch sits on the C-clip. But my questions is that...
I had just installed a coil on plug set up, and I had pinched a wire against the head. It was shorting out on the head. I took my coil on plug off and fixed the wire, and changed a few blown fuses and havent' had a problem in a couple months.Luv2rally, that is very helpful. But honestly, for...
Hate to bring this thread back AGAIN. But me and MANY others are still stumped on what the dwell should be. We need someone with experience with COPs. I have been trying to search for the 300m dwell but come up with nothing.
I was looking for a viper. But i know of a local who has an alarm with remote start (manual). He just starts it like you normally would with an automatic. He bought it like that, so he doesnt know much on it. It is a viper alarm.
