Guys....I hate to have to do this...but I found a brand new huge shop we are moving into in a month, and this car has to go. I am now parting out the whole vehicle. All the parts you see listed in this entire post are for sale. As you can see in all the pictures I've posted, everything is top...
+1Thanks for the comments guys!We will have to see how these hoosier dr's hold up first. If they don't hook like I want, I'll get a better tire. Figured they were a good starting point to see where things are at.anybody have a 1g auto(fwd or awd) shifter cable laying around? need one....
Also I'm REALLY looking forward to this automatic in this car. I ordered paddle shifters that will bolt to an aftermarket momo 6 bolt steering wheel to control the shifting of this transmission instead of that box from Roadsurge that you have to hold in your hand to press buttons to shift it. I...
Thanks Tim!It does spool awesome. The car was fast before with problems with the STOCK cylinder head leaking damn near 40%+ each cylinder, cannot wait for the new results with the built head with oversized valves and hks 280's, and nitrous :)
so auto trans should be arriving from IPT shortly, any idea on what shift cable I'm supposed to run in this thing? Its a 1g car with a 2g auto trans, but a 1g stock shifter in the car.....
Pics of the cylinder head back with +1mm oversized supertech valves, supertech bronze valve guides, supertech dual valve spring with titanium retainers, and 5 angle valve jobIt's now time to re-assemble engine!!! :)
Update:ID 2000's showed up :)+1mm oversized supertech valves being installed with new supertech bronze valve guides, supertech dual valve springs/titanium retainers, and 5 angle valve jobAnd HKS 280's showed up today to replace the comp101200's :)Powdercoated valve cover and...
Some progress pics of putting the engine back together.... Its 90% done until we opened our OEM MITSU oil pump box to discover a little mishap to say the least where they FORGOT TO PUT THE DAMN OIL GEAR IN THE OIL PUMP!Our 250.00+ bare oil pumpNice little shinny stroker crank
Hey guys...wanted to ask a few questions. Our shop car put down near 650awhp through our 5 speed a few months ago. Were looking to start the swap to an automatic and had a few questions about the shifter options for this car. Were going to be running a 2g automatic transmission due to being...
sweet man will do! Just got block and crank back from machine shop. Balanced and blueprinted. I'll keep you posted on the progress of us putting together the new engine with the built IPT auto trans I'm choosing to run :) Hopefully run 9's!
UPDATE:I'm going with an IPT built automatic(2g housing) with a IPT billet torque converter and trans brake. Also, got a few new parts in.Innovate wideband in stock oil pressure gauge locationD2 coiloversZinc plated drilled/slotted front and rear rotors with hawk pads(front) and EBC...
I'll see if I can get one from Beyond Redline next time I stop over there. She didn't take it too long ;) When I bought the car, the rings were gapped to stock spec so it wasn't really meant to handle the power I'm pushing out of it. Probably will end up changing the pistons also. Should have...
Good to know thanks :) if everything is good in the motor when the machine shop checks it over, I may just get away with only having to put new rings in it and keeping the same bore on the block(hoping) And I'll slap new bearings in it too.P.S. Anybody know if anybody has a good used or new...
There are Eagle Rods and Ross pistons in it now. Not sure if the Eagle rods will be good enough for the power I'm making, may have to do a bit more research on that yet. As far as pistons, I'll need to look into an actual HD piston. So far I have my eyes set on the Wiseco HD set.
nope, decided not to with all the blow by that was going on. Would of just blew something apart. Give me a month to rebuild the engine and throw a stage 4 Shep trans in the car instead of the stage 3.
UPDATE...time for a rebuild :) lol...didnt think the block would last too long. Still runs fine, just getting EXCESSIVE blow by through the rings and am going to have to bore it over and run a better piston and rod set up. I guess stay tuned :(P.S. DSM's are crazy with maintenance, the supra...
That'll be great to see all the old pictures of the car!!!! As of right now I don't plan on selling it, but I guess everything is for sale for the right price, especially to its original owner! :) But I'm having a blast with the car so far and plan on taking it to GLD yes, but since we have a...
Thanks for the comments guys.Yep, they are.Few changes made this week....will be on dyno shortly for new #'s. Hopefully the dual valve springs solved the misfire issue at high RPM which we suspected to be due to a valve floating from the stock valve springs.Hoosier drag radials
Enkei RPF1...
Yeah it was nice to see your car too. Thing is crazy.....Makes me want to put 4 slicks on my car ;)Well we found that it wasn't ignition break up in high rpm, it was my stock valve springs causing valves to float and thus causing the misfire. I'm putting supertech dual valve springs in it...
I believe it does have a evo 1st gear, but the previous owner who had it would know more about that. I'd have to ask him or wait for him to chime in :)
Its a shep stage 3 trans. I'd do your trans first, then turbo. :)I'm not really. I'm getting the car dialed in correctly so that when I do bring it to the track, the car is right, and I'm not begging for a disaster. Here is the dyno graph comparison of my old graph with a much smaller turbo...
UPDATE...trying for more power but now its floating the stock valve springs...so I'm going to throw some Supertech dual valve springs in there over the weekend, along with some adjustable cam gears, and get it back on the dyno monday-tuesday ish to see if I can make even more :)
Luke does all the tuning for Beyond Redline, so yes. Clutch was broken, from Luke actually, got it from his old 92 red talon. The coil on plug set up in that picture is what was giving us problems, so i put back in the stock wires and coils and it pulled strong til 35lbs, then broke up over that...
So #'s are finally here! 610awhp/600awtq @35lbs E85!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We had a little ignition break up up top since we did these pulls on the stock coil pack and wires. We're wiring up the coil on plug set up so its going back on the dyno tonight to see if we can get even higher #'s :)I'll get...
Yeah...this whole time I thought a 6 puck was in there haha.....Didn't find a 4 bolt rear end yet but we'll see how the 3 bolt holds up first. No fuel problems, injectors are working fine :)The car was DEFINITELY on its way to 600+awhp with that 37lb pull before the clutch slipped. Damnit...
UPDATE....37lb pull, clutch just slipped. Didn't know there was a STREET disc in this car when I bought it with the 2900. I'll be installing a 2900 6 puck ceramic disc today and will be back on the dyno tomorrow with a clutch that HOLDS. :)
Thanks! I feel the 86 would of been a little too laggy for my liking. My goal was 600awhp, so I wanted the fastest spooling turbo to get me there.Havn't driven the car yet as it's still on the dyno. But power doesn't drop off up top at all from dyno graph.
Comp101200 cams.Full boost by 4200rpm. I have a powerband from 4200ish to 8k...40psi dyno pulls are coming within the hour. I'll keep you guys updated. Tuner went home early yesterday.DSM82 is an amazing turbo. I'm sure I'll see 600awhp today. You cant ask for anymore with a powerband as...
So got my car tuned at Beyond Redline Performance on a AWD dynojet in Green Bay today. So far, in the middle of tuning as I write this, the car makes 563awhp@32lbs of boost on E85. Going to try for 40lbs! Dyno sheets will come shortly, along with before and after comparisons of old set up...
Its a shep stage 3, its holding up good so far :)http://www.dsmtuners.com/forums/dyno-talk/403007-2-3l-stroker-fp-dsm82-e85-dyno-results.html#post152589484
Thanks :)I'm trying to find a 4 bolt rear end as we speak. If you know where I can find one, let me know! As far as the cage, I plan on doing that sometime this summer. I'll see if I can make a few passes first and see what happens.
Update....1 pull at 25lbs. Going to check the tq on the headstuds and do more pulls later in afternoon....But so far it made [email protected] here is the sweet part.....Look at the original graph on the 1st page and see that the graph dips way down up top...dipping well below 400hp...Now...
On the dyno as we speak...#'s coming shortly!Well Luke had to run off again today...so we got 1 pull in at the lowest boost possible, 14lbs.It made 360 at the 14lbs :) I think the 30+ #'s are going to be excellent!!!Edit 3/30/11--Run #2 It made 391awhp/441awtq at only 18psi @ 3800rpm and...
