Sounds reasonable considering there is most likely underlying bumper reinforcement (foam) damage.Figure on remove and repair bumper, remove and replace support, repaint bumper, supply costs and disposals and that sounds right on to me for a quality shop.
Man do i love a nicely tuned quadrajet, they are great carbs when set up properly but it takes time and patience to do so. Great thing about them is that they only came in 750cfm or 850cfm but yet with the small primaries you could easily run them on a small displacement 4cyl, though most likely...
As long as you have the car strapped down properly you'll have no issues of any sort forward or reverse. Beware though, empty they usually like to bounce around like crazy, they settle down a ton with weight on them but try and watch the bumps and potholes while empty
Put a chambered muffler on a turbo car of any type and you'll kill performance....$80 for fab work? Maybe if you just want the muffler installed.... Some shops might be cheap but what kind of quality are you getting? Crush bent pipes just dont flow like mandrel bends. In the end a crush bent...
If you do not know how to do a shake test or know much about suspensions i would suggest taking it to a shop that does. Suspension issues are all in the touch and feel of the issue so know how is a must. It never hurts to learn something new but it can hurt the wallet at times.A good factory...
Instead of doing that oil change take the $30 and get a cheap compression tester. Most likely you have a popped head gasket and you'll have to change the oil after you replace the gasket anyways.I wouldn't recommend driving it. You should definitely check your oil to see if its contaminated or...
Car-Part.com--Used Auto Parts MarketThey list them as low as $50 and tons of others that you can call up and haggle with. BTW, if they list a set price you can usually haggle with most parts yards.
Mufflers are not a pollution control device beyond "noise pollution".Also, back pressure is a myth, its flow v. velocity, back pressure is bad no matter what induction type the motor is.
:ohdamn:VERY bad advice... the PO of my car said he had just put new plugs in, I didn't pay attention to it until the car started to spit and sputter, pulled the plugs and he had put NGK platinum's in it. I swapped them for the standard copper plugs and the problem went away immediately and...
Probably not the entire problem but there is an adjustment for the throttle pedal that will affect downshifts. IIRC its a phillips head and the connector should read 0 volts at dead pedal. I'll have to check all data when i get a chance.
It may only be $800 but its basically internet pre bidding for the actual auction that will take place. You still have to have the high bid when the hammer comes down on auction day.
It is best but not a must, you will not get your money out of them without resurfacing though as they cannot bed in or bite as easily. Also, the HPS line is a great bad but the more heat it has the better it stops, build up some heat in the brakes and they bite like crazy for a street pad.
Bikes aren't any cheaper to maintain.... parts are generally expensive, maintenance is unforgiving and theres no roof over your head or heat if its gets cold. Yes, you can DD them but i wouldn't recommend it for a newbie or for anyone who cant do the basic maintenance.Right now you've put...
Yes it was.... NADA value for that car in clean retail shape is only $3,225 and i dont think i would pay over $3600 for it. Nice car but not nice enough for $5kAlso, the guy in the reflection is probably one of the sales guys at the dealership the car is for sale at ;)
Best method is the same one used with the "one by one" method in my opinion... Remove the stud, place the washer and then screw in the stud, after that you'll be fine.
You could always do what the turbo mustang guys do and get an electric air injection pump. They came on tons of vehicles and you can turn them on using a hobbs switch if you wish. Thats what i'll be doing on my turbo mustang.
For what it was and for the time it was made it was a pretty quick car, 0-60 in the mid 7's with the quarter mile going by in the mid 15's all while weighing in at around 4500-4700lbs.Today... not a chance, but a good modern comparison would be the cts-v wagon. Wonder how fast that will look...
Ive used them successfully at the dealership I work at without a problem (many times, never broken) and the package of mine do say they're covered under warranty... I purchased mine about 6-7 years ago. :thumb:
most likely its due to your oil being low enough for the pickup to suck the pan dry and or the oil is sloshing away from the pickup, most likely you're probably burning oil or have a leaki would make sure the level is topped off (to the full mark) and see if you still have the issue
there were slight differences, the corvette received a 300hp lt1 with 4 bolt mains and aluminum heads while the f bodies got a 275hp 2 bolt aluminum head varient while the other cars mentioned received a 265hp engine with cast heads and 2 bolt mainson top of that the ls1 has NEVER come from...
Then let me ask you this.... so the seal "wears out" and magically the dipstick pops itself up? :aha:Bottom line, the reason for it getting pushed up is due to a force on the other side, that force is blow by or positive air flow into the crankcase. This is due to the lack of a working PCV...
If you're "launching" it then you'll want to keep the softer springs as they will help limit loss of traction. If you ever noticed, a lot of RWD and AWD drag race cars will use a softer spring in the rear to help transfer the weight and plant the rear.
Nah, she understands... the wedding was coming out of my pay for the most part but my hours have dropped off a ton lately. The money WAS going to go towards my mustang and our "housing fund" but now its just housing and the wedding. I'm fine with it but im really starting to miss my car since...
I'm a full time mechanic so thats not the issue, just level of difficulty, the unknown and not having the full shop capabilities that worries me i guess. Either way, thanks for the offer!
Right now i dont really have the room to maneuver a hoist around in the garage... Ideally i would like to keep it down only 1 day but as many as 3 would be somewhat doable, though not comfortable. I like having just in case time, hence the 3 days.
I'm about ready to tackle my timing belt swap and was just wondering what everyone thought on this subject. I have read up on it but feel i still do not know enough having never done it before to make the decision so that is why i am seeking help.I will only have 3-4 days tops to do the job...
tried to start it... wouldn't startgot pissed, took the camaro and then came back almost 12 hours later and the damn thing starts right up.... took it and beat the piss out of it down my road and back before putting it in the garage for the work i'll be doing to it tomorrowTo do list-
Boost...
Just make sure that the motor is top dead center on the compression stroke when you try to do a leakdown test. Remember, some noise or slight air movement from the oil cap is normal.I would suggest starting with a compression test though, make sure you keep the throttle open and let the motor...
You can wrap them in a way to still look good (IMO), you just have to take your time and plan things out. It also helps to wet the wrap to loosen it up a bit which allows you to pull it tighter.
Around here... the world would be a much better place without minivan drivers....Both me and my fiancee have this problem all the time. The owners of vans around here seem to never pay attention to what they're doing or just straight up drive like jackasses.
Definitely look at the domestics, great deals... I work at a dealership and the domestics are always the best buys on the lot because we get them for cheap, rarely have to do more than change the oil on them and put them on the lot.
If you're going the tuning route you're much better off just getting link where you can log and change a lot more than just fuel percentages (plus log) and for not much more cash out of pocket.
Really, as a LEO, if you go to search a vehicle checking the door tag vs. the dash should be on the list of things to check. When he said other parts of the car i highly doubt he meant actual parts :rolleyes:So black widow, what are all of the 2g locations that you know of?
