hi I am having a leak here also, tried replacing the o-ring worked for awhile then started leaking again. any1 running a larger o-ring? or another solution? if so where did you get it/ what did you do?. i had to go to a Diesel truck fuel injector shop to even be able to find an o-ring similar to...
If you've run Enkei RPF1s 17x9 +22 on a 1g with a bigbrake kit, 13' cobra rotors and vr4 calipers. Can you confirm whether or not the aforementioned wheel set-up on 255s will clear?
hmm, its just my third gear that is engaging ruff, it can be engaged smoothly but you must engage it extremely slowly and with a slight offset to the right then what you'd expect to be the normal engagement route. I was thinking it might be just the 3rd gear cable as from what i hear. the...
Hi,The shifter cables on my car are all adjustable in two directions, except my 3rd gear cable. Which isn't adjustable horizontally. I don't know if this is causing me the grief in 3rd gear engagement that I am having. So I was looking for advice on wether or not it's common for 93 Tsi's to...
Talk about 'got jokes?'. Time and tools don't come with a Hanes manual last time I checked. You try going to school 5 days a from 8-5. Then swim club weekends 9-4. And be up 530AM Monday-Sat. everyday to go to the gym. I'll make this car happen whether you or anyone else think it's right for me...
Currently I am looking at sending my block to jacks transmission to be built and my transmission to Sheptrans. And the remaining parts that I will need to get the car up and running I will purchase through vendors on DSMtuners. Thoughts?Porters performance doesn't have very good reviews...
.....sigh it's getting a little frustrating returning to this thread only to seem more people commenting on the prices of the parts in the images of the quotes I received. Hopefully this is the last time I will have to say this. I am NOT purchasing the parts at the prices listed! I will be...
As I have said a many a time the list prices for parts are not the prices I will be purchasing them at, I am going through dsm vendors to attain the parts I need. The listed parts prices are what my shop can get them at, they in no way are trying to make money off parts for me. They are...
Seems to be a lot of suggestions to simply go with a crate motor. Can anyone post a link to suggested crate motors, I have currently narrowed my thoughts to the crate motors made by DSM graveyard. Any word on their quality? Comparisons to their crate motors to what my potential motor may be if I...
I've already looked into that; but with shipping and install that will be just over 5k. From estimates from vendors + install prices from my shop I am looking at about the same cost. But, it works out I get more work done and more of a complete build doing the work through my shop. As I said...
Hey guys, here is the updated parts list I'm looking at for my car. Please take a look at it and see if there is anything else I'm missing or you think I should take a look at getting at the same time I do this build. Please ignore the quoted prices as I will be purchasing the parts through...
I will definitely explore as many options as I can as far as brands go for the different engine internals I will need. Be sure that I will not be blindly purchasing any parts without sifting for the best deals. I will look into the required supporting mods to get my engine turning once built...
1. I will be sure to ask for the break down on the engine machining.
2. I have sent my required part lists to a few supporting vendors (waiting on replies)
3. My HP goals with this car are in the 500-700 range. Perhaps unrealistic in the near future but be rest assured this car isn't leaving my...
After having gone through the paces with my DSM, It no doubt has been a struggle but I have no plan on letting next to nothing stop me from one day having built a monster DD. Together with my garage we have drawn up a full engine rebuild which will set the base for one day creating a very...
Clean or replace your MAF, run a boost leak. Strange fixing your ISC didn't solve the problem. Our idle motors a junk and often go bad and are in need of replacing.
If it's a small black canister it's the fuel filter, which is easy to entirely replace. Just make sure to make a good wipe up job afterwards of any split fuel. I also recommend running your car dry with the fuel pump fuse pulled.
i also installed a an act 2900 clutch. took it through three garages before they could get the clutch to disengage. turns out it was a combination of the throw out bearing and damaged clutch pedal assembly. sucks it turned out to be the simple mechanics when i went threw all the hassle of buying...
