    Did you ground the battery back at the trunk? Did you run a wire all the way from the breaker to the wires in the engine bay? When they are connected did you put the hot wires in an isolated distribution block.Something is grounding out. Most likely it a hot wire some where.

    Replace the shifter cable end bushings with either brass or aluminium. Also there are bushings on the actuall shifter rod assembly that need to be looked at. And ofcourse the symbroski kit for the shifter base.
