The 2gnt link is the best method. Permatex Ultra Grey works well. I have used both oem gasket kits and felpro on my car. I like the oem the best, but the felpro kit is pretty good as well. I would highly recommend replacing the rubber grommets that the bolts go thru as well.
I have a complete suspension setup that I never used. Everything was purchased new. One of the front struts was installed and then immediately removed. I installed my driver side front, attempted the passenger side and the control arm bolts were seized. I then removed the driver side and put...
Here is a link to a thread with the yakima rack. Has the parts list for what you would need for a 2g.http://www.dsmtuners.com/threads/roof-rack.447002/
When replacing the valve cover gaskets on these engines I also like to replace the valve cover grommets too. Over time they become dry cracked and brittle. I brand new set ensures that you will get proper torque when tightening the bolts. As far as using sealant I have had good luck with...
What NGK plugs did you put in? I found that the standard/copper work best, gaped to factory spec. When checking your battery voltage with the car running, check not only from the posts of the battery, but also check at the clamps themselves. Judging by your readings so far it seems as though...
Yes, you can swap the rubber seal from your old hatch to your new hatch. I would recommend putting some rtv sealant on the seal so that you don't have a leak. The picture you posted looks very odd. That piece sticking through does not look like it should be there. I just had my wiper...
With that size wheel and offset and assuming a 235/45/17 tire size you would be most likely not be able clear the suspension in the rear. You would have about a 1mm clearance, but depending on tire manufacturer it could have no clearance at all.
All of the parts are there in the picture. You simply unbolt your stock shifter and put this in its place. Here are the install instructions, it should give you a better understanding of how it installs.

After removing my bumper the correct way two times I decided to leave off the two little metal brackets that hold the cover to the support. I makes it much easier to remove the bumper in the future without them, because you no longer have to remove the support along with the cover. The cover...
I just had this same issue and it was caused by the rear wiper seal leaking. It took me a while to find it, but the water was pooling up in the plastic on the underside of the hatch. So, as the others have said you need to search around and find where the moisture is getting in.
As shown above there is a separate washer that goes between the bolt and the rubber grommet and you absolutely need to have these or the gasket will leak every time. Without the washers the bolts will bottom out before the valve cover is properly torqued down. Made this mistake once before and...
I have been having a similar issue. I noticed one day when I was driving I hit the lock button on the door and the driver side did not lock. Soon after I started having problems where the car would not lock using the key fob either. If I lock the door manually with the key and then use the...
It is a M8-1.25 x 40mm hex head flange bolt. These worked on every mount except the last rubber mount that connects to the back of the muffler. On my car that rubber mount was thicker than the rest and required a longer bolt than the others.
The bottom picture is an Enkei Evo 5 wheel. I am not sure about the wheel in the first picture. The wheel info will be on a sticker on the inside of the barrel as well as cast into the back of the spokes.
This is what I did when I purchased my car. I was about 40 miles from home as well. I also contacted my insurance company and took care of that at the same time.
I had a set of the cheap ebay ones and they flexed too much to make any noticeable difference. I eventually took them off because all they did was get in the way.
When you did your first burnout you scared the hell out of everyone in the stands. I don't think anyone was expecting your car to be that loud and fast. It was awesome.
From what I heard, Ivey Tune, who sponsored the GTR class was not allowed to run his GTR due to having upgraded turbochargers so he packed up and went home.
Definitely a Supra. You can tell by the hood as well as the roof where the line is from the targa top. Here is a picture of a black Supra with the same kit.http://wallpapers.windowsace.com/pics/t/o/toyota-supra-tuning-photo-pic-wallpaper-high-quality-new-a-e-ibackgroundz.com.jpg
There has been some info added to the facebook page addressing open/side exit exhausts. Here is what was said:"A little clarification on the exhaust rules. All cars must be muffled or turbo. If you have a side outlet exhaust or anything of that nature on your turbo car bring it out to...
The entire picture is photoshopped. The front end of the car, everything in front of the windshield is from a Toyota supra. It has eclipse headlights shopped in.
The price is not bad at all, I would say its fair. These cars sell for higher prices in the northeast for some reason. The majority of the ones up for sale are shit boxes. Make sure to look over the car really good. Check the strut towers for rust, look down the back side of the engine and...
That should make for a good first car. Depending on the condition of the car the up keep should be minimal. Once you go through the car and fix any problems and do all the maintenance you should not have to do much else besides change the oil when needed. You will be happy with the gas...
Hey everyone, I just wanted to remind you all that Raceway Park's annual Mitsubishi vs. Subaru day is coming up in October. I have gone to this event the last two years and it has been great fun. Last years event was a big turnout compared to the year before, more people, more vendors, live...
I had this issue with mine about a year ago, ended up being the plug just as other have mentioned. When I would move the wires around it would blink normal for a while and then start acting up again. I ended up just getting a new plug/taillight harness from a junkyard and it solved the issue...
Thanks for posting this up. I have been waiting for a long time for someone to bring back this style lip. I think I am going to order one also. I have no problem being the test dummy for this product.
If I end up adding a subwoofer to my car I will be making a fiberglass box that fits the corner of the trunk. Below is a great write up on what I want.2GNT.com - Fiberglass_Subwoofer_Enclosure
Just recently had mine done, like said above there is no longer a safety check. They only check three things. They have a camera that checks to make sure you have a catalytic converter, they hook you up and scan your computer if your OBDII, and lastly they check the gas cap.
I hate to bring up an old thread, but I am in need of some help. I am in the middle of a head gasket job and have everything removed, but the stays are holding me up. I cant see them from the top or from underneath. Do I need to remove the cruise control vac box in order to get to the stays?
I may try putting a stronger spring on. I was at Lowes earlier this week and noticed quite a few springs in the hardware section that may work perfectly.
I have the same problem with mine. If I pull the latch from the drivers seat the hatch will pop up about 1/4" but will not completly release. I have to lift up on the hatch with the key in and turned to the unlock position in order for the latch to release. After that it stays up fine by itself...
Why not buy a set of componets for up front, take your current pioneers from up front and put them in the rear. Then get your amp. This way you should still have good sound without going over your budget and then you can eventually swap out the pioneers with something else.As I posted in...
4g63T valve covers are designed to utilize a spark plug cover, the 420A is not designed to use a spark plug cover. Thats the reason no one makes them for the 420A.
You will want to keep it at tdc. Also, you dont want the cams gears to move at all when taking out the slack. You will still want to have someone hold them with wreches so that they stay lined up. I know its a pain in the ass, I have been through it once before and I am getting ready to...
It took me quite a few times when doing mine, the first few times it kept coming out half a tooth off, but eventually I was able to get it perfect. If your doing this alone I suggest you get a second set of hands. I tried three times by myself and thats when it came out half tooth off. With...
I went to the local Dodge dealer to get the special lubricant for my manual transmission. Tell the guy all car info and exactly what I needed, explained it to him three times while he clicked around on his computer. He tells me, "you need to go next door (Hyundai dealer) for that. So I drive...
An 8 should be perfect for what I am looking for. Just some nice good quality bass to compliment the factory stereo. I also want to got for a small box to take up the least amount of space.
Here is a good link for what you want, but in a 2g.2GNT.com - Fiberglass_Subwoofer_EnclosureI plan on doing this soon. Im still undecided on which woofer I want to go with. I narrowed it down to the JL 8w3v3-4 or the Sundown SD-2 8 D4. Also plan on going with the same amp as the OP, the...
The last I remember MachV was selling them, but the mold for the lip was damaged/broken. They kept saying they would fix/repair the mold, but it never happened.
I purchased all of my timing components from PartsDinosaur and I was very pleased with everything. I did however purchase the Gates HP belt instead of the standard belt which was a little bit more money.
