  1. Bullseye GT30R bolt-on turbo (feedback please)

I had a SBR-GT30r, one thing I recommend is to definitely go with an external wastegate. If your planning on getting this turbo with an internal to save some cash, don't even bother.I have some logs from DSMLink I could send to you, I think I was getting around 46-47 lb/min at 22 psi...
  2. Does Mitsu Have One?

Yes you are, the MR is just a different package for the Evo. It's not their "racing division".Screw Ralliart, I'd rather have a Buschur Racing Evo ;) http://forums.evolutionm.net/showthread.php?t=131045&highlight=Medina
  3. I just cleaned my car for over 5 hours. Few questions on products

    Stoner: Invisible Glass :thumb:
  4. Why NOT to use SSAutochrome

You get what you pay for, if people want to buy cheap crap and end up having to buy something else when it fails that's their business.I'd rather get stuff from proven companies (AMS, Buschur, Shearer, Magnus, FP, etc..) and pay more than buy crap that is only a cheap imitation of the proven...
  5. 2g Gsx Top Speed?

I wouldn't trust any speedometer at those kinds of speed to be accurate. In the latest Evo magazine they had a Porsche GT up to 205 (based off of Racelogic GPS system) and the speedometer read 217. Just think how off a DSM speedometer will be.
  6. HOT! released: OFICIAL ECLIPSE NFS UNDERGROUND2!

WTF Both look disgusting IMO. :notgood:
  7. Dsm Link And/or Zeitronix Wideband

DSMLink makes the S-AFC look like a child's toy ;)I just replaced my Innovate LM-1 with a ZT-2, I wanted something that I could easily mount near the ECU, plus I don't need a display with DSMLink. If you have to choose, get the DSMLink first and then save up for the ZT-2. :thumb:
  8. Dyno #-bone stock long block

Damn, sounds like a beast :thumb:Any pics of the dyno graph? Talk about budget racing
  9. Instable boost

Is the wastegate arm adjustable? This could be a problem with the preload on the wastegate, flapper could be blowing open.
  10. Bov = Guns?

My brain hurts after reading that :barf:
  11. GT3076R question?

Whatever you get make sure and get an external wastegate setup.A FP3065 with a 2.3L would make a pretty wicked combo. :thumb:
  12. DSMLink and LM-1 with LMA-3

I have DSMLink and the LM-1, you might want to wait on installing the LMA-3 until you get DSMLink.DSMLink will log pretty much everything the LMA-3 can, I can't remember if it can log EGT's, but EGT's are useless if you can look at knock, injector duty cycle, and AFR.I am ditching the...
  13. Too Many Turbos for Too Much $$$$

There's a reason a lot of people have DSMLink, cause it works.Trend setter? Your joking with that statement right? A big turbo ,a EMS, and dreams of 500hp isn't exactly on the unbeaten path.Personally, I would just do it right the first time and get something proven like a FP3052 or a...
  14. GT30 Turbo question

And where did you get this information?I'd say go with a 50 trim, your going to need to block off your external wastegate flange on your manifold if you go with a FP3052.I'm running a SBR-GT30r and it's a 52 lb/min turbo... not 65lb/min.
  15. 1st log on 1g dsmlink, need some help.

If you had DSMLink setup for 650's and you are running 450's, you need to stop driving your car and quickly read the manual. Set your global fuel to 0% and set the deadtime to 0. Your running dangerously lean with settings for 650s.Have you been to the DSMLink forums yet? They are filled...
  16. dsmlink 1st log advice please

Right, well have you seen this page? http://www.dsmlink.com/transfer.html#transferI'd try to get a hold of the guy that sold you it and ask him to contact DSMLink for a owner transfer.
  17. dsmlink 1st log advice please

You would get a better analysis and suggestions from actually posting the log file to the DSMLink forums. The forums are what make DSMLink such a outstanding product IMO.Just my 2 cents
  18. going to AMS...

So AMS took their own time to do the research on a part when you should have already done the research yourself? Wow, sounds like a horrible shop :rolleyes:If that's your one complaint then AMS must be doing something right.
  19. going to AMS...

Stock Evo 8 FMIC is definitely not as bad as some people (who have zero experience with it) make it out to be.Here's a thread with a quote from Buschur on the stock fmic. http://forums.evolutionm.net/showthread.php?t=21659&highlight=fast+stock+fmicDo I have any experience with it? Yep...
  20. Who Is Using A Dsmlink?

Have you even read the webpage yet? I think it does a nice job explaining the features. You could also go to downloads and get the manual and read that.http://www.dsmlink.com/
  21. what a/f are you tuning for on pure pump gas?

Best I've ran is 8.2 @ 88 mph, flowing ~38 lb/min. Nothing to brag about, but decent I guess. I was running 8.4 @ 84 mph flowing 36 lb/min before so it was a improvement in power. This is on stock cams/head/IM.
  22. what a/f are you tuning for on pure pump gas?

Looking at logs with this turbo at 20 psi with the pocketlogger/s-afc combo kind of scares me to see the timing curve I was getting. Nothing beats being able to control timing now. Nice numbers btw. :thumb:I ran 23 psi with timing retarded -2 from 4.5k to redline with zero knock, now I run...
  23. what a/f are you tuning for on pure pump gas?

22 psi on the GT30r on 93 octane. I tune for a 10.6:1 A/F Ratio, this is with timing at 16* at redline and flowing 39 lb/min according to DSMLink.Anything leaner than 11.0:1 and I have to reduce timing to keep the knock down.
  24. Oh man, my 98 GSX got spanked.

I would just get a boost and fuel pressure gauge, forget about the A/F and EGT.
  25. New injectors, now im slower

I would say make a log and post it on the dsmlink boards, we might be able to see what's wrong in one of the logs or we might have some suggestions to try and get your car running right. Not to say DSMTuners isn't a good forum for tuning help, but when you have dsmlink's forums there really...
  26. ECMlink DSMLink v2 for 1g

If you are that worried about using a 1g knock sensor with a 1g DSMlink setup, why not just buy the AEM and get a 2g knock sensor? Just curious why a 1g knock sensor would be such a bad thing to use with a 1g.
  27. 99 Gsx or EVO 8

Actually, he got 2nd, but his car is amazing. 2nd is awesome for what he was up against.99 GSX or Evo...hmmm....how about both? :D :thumb:If I had to pick between my Evo and GSX, I'd probably go with the Evo. It's a incredible car stock and just like the GSX, it can be...
  28. Octane booster for cheap! More boost!

I would rather do water or alcohol injection. A lot less hassle and still gives you the ability to run a good amount of boost on pump gas safely.
  29. Wideband and Wideband+DSMLink ??'s

I have the LM-1 and DSMLink, works great. If I had to do it again I would get a WB kit that is easier to permanently install into the car. I haven't taken the time to wire of the LM-1 into the glovebox, so I have it under my seat with the power going to the cigarette power.WB + DSMLink are a...
  30. Just installed my plx m-300 wideband....

Nice, just wanted to make sure you had a AFPR so you wouldn't have to deal with FPR overrun while getting your fuel trims in check. You should be good to go after getting your fuel trims sorted out. :thumb:
  31. Just installed my plx m-300 wideband....

The ECU is going to do all of the work once you get your fuel trims close to 100%. As long as they are close, you should be fine.Shouldn't take too long getting them in check, then the fun begins, tuning at WOT. I assume you are using a pocketlogger/s-afc combo correct? How about fuel mods...
  32. Just installed my plx m-300 wideband....

I see around 14.4:1 to 14.6:1 when cruising. As long as your fuel trims look good then you should be alright.
  33. New pics of the setup (6 bolt and gt35r)

    Nice setup man :thumb:
  34. GT30r revisted

Do you happen to remember what the temperature/altitude was when you logged this? I really need cams, looking forward to reading some reviews of FP's new cams :thumb:Also, is there a equation for how much airflow you loose per 1000ft of elevation? Thanks.
  35. GT30r revisted

Good point, but I just assumed that if FP can cast a TH that gives you plenty of clearance, then it can be done with good results. ;)What do you think about the airflow I am getting? I am not sure if it's normal for this size turbo. I need to search to see what some people are getting with...
  36. What should my base fuel pressure be with afpr?

Search could have given you the answer.http://www.dsmtuners.com/forums/showthread.php?t=76962&highlight=1g%2A+fuel+pressureThat took me all of 30 seconds to find. Also I am not trying to be an ass, just some advice on future questions. Searching can answer about 90% of your questions.
  37. GT30r revisted

So my last thread about the GT30r didn't go so well, so I thought I would chime in with a small update about the GT30r.In the end my spooling problem came down to a wastegate issue that I solved by adding a large amount of preload to the arm to keep the flapper from blowing open on spool up...
  38. The racing scene today, what has it come too?

So you get boo'ed and yelled at when you go to your uncles house? :confused:The only respectable car people around here are the older guys that just enjoy modifying their cars. The rice always seem to have something to prove, driving like maniacs, and giving people the gangsta look.
  39. Why is it that everyone likes skylines so much???

AWD, 6 speed, RB26DETT, Good looks (R33 is my fav), etc...The fact that they are so rare is another bonus. When it came down to it, I think I would rather have a heavily modified Evo over one though, a lot cheaper and it still has incredible performance.
  40. Wide band O2 and pocket logger?

I used a pocketlogger and Innovate LM-1 with RPM converter. Had to view two seperate logs, but it worked. Not sure of any way to log the innovate through the pocketlogger.Hopefully DSMLink for 1g's will be out soon eh? :thumb:
  41. Sbr Evo III 16g, 400 Whp???

I thought displacement, in the end, will only affect spool up and the torque band, not the overall HP figures. I am no expert, but this was my understanding of it. The turbo can only flow so much air, I believe this is the same thing kpt4321 was talking about.Anyway, excellent numbers SBR...
  42. Finally ... FP3052 Dyno Results

Sweet, nice to see some numbers from this turbo. What state of tune do you think you are in? In other words, do you think you can improve on these numbers with more tuning and fixing your ign problem?Let us know if you change anything and go back for some more runs. :thumb:
  43. MAP ECU? anyone running it or heard of it?

If your 2g: get DSMLink V2 and wideband kitIf your 1g: Wait for DSMLink V2 for 1g's and wideband kit ;)AEM also looks like a good choice, lot's of support and you can go speed density with it. AEM has been proven enough to make big power with the right tuning.
  44. autoalchemy fuel line kit...

Yep, but I was lazy at the time, and I like the fact this kit was already assembled. I don't mind spending a little extra to help out a fellow DSMer who makes kits like these. :thumb:
  45. autoalchemy fuel line kit...

I bought this kit a while ago and have had zero issues with leaks. Definitely worth the $ IMO, I love this kit. After seeing how restrictive the stock stuff is, I have no doubts that this kit adds some flow to the fuel system.
  46. 2G's, post your pocketlogger logs!!

Here's one of my last Pocketlogger logs ever. DSMLink V2 is already in the car. :thumb:GT30r 650cc FMIC boost ~19psi Airflow #'s confuse the crap out of me. Innovate LM-1, I was at 10.8:1 I believe in this log, definitely more room to lean it out and get timing to look better...
  47. This 240SX has the craziest drifting skills i have ever seen!!!!

For some sick reason all I want to do after seeing that is laugh my ass off. His ego and car look like the only things damaged in that video.
  48. New AGP 50 Trim & FMIC First Log!

Good luck, I'm hoping that you can get some better timing in the midrange. Let us know how the car feels. :thumb:
  49. New AGP 50 Trim & FMIC First Log!

:sigh:Show me one reputable shop or tuner that says you can trust o2 volts and that there is a perfect range to shoot for, cause I must have missed that post. If everyone could use their narrowband o2 sensors to tune for a certain volt range and get a good A/F ratio, then why would people...
  50. New AGP 50 Trim & FMIC First Log!

23* at redline compared to 15* is pretty good to me. I am not surprised that your o2's have changed, bottom line is that you can't trust or use o2's for tuning, they are just not reliable enough.Like I said, it looks like you could go a little leaner at 4K - 4.5K to help clear up the 10-11...
