Part it out if you wish, most of your parts are probably going to be bought from guys on this forum. Its guys like you that help some guys like me be able to afford to keep/maintain a car. Nothing wrong with parting it out (sounds justified).
There is a fuse for the A/T, when it blows, the transmission goes into whats called the "limp" mode. Check your fuses under driver side dash. You might be having some type of electrical issues if that fuse is bad.
You guys are right about one thing... "he will be back"I have come back to the DSM platform 3 times, 1ga Laser, 1ga Talon, 2gb Talon in the past 17 years. Love these car, i got my license in a DSM and i have had many "firsts" in a DSM. So having said that, I have come back to DSMs but this...
So its officially over. I sold my 1gb DSM to a new member on this forum. It was a bad day all in all. Hated to see her go. :cry:I do have to mention however, DSMtuners has been the best forum i have been a member of. I plan on keeping my membership and will still keep up with my subscribed...
Before you start moving your fuel injectors around, have you checked to see whether or not your spark is miss firing. It could still be a fault downstream from the spark plug up.You mentioned that you changed out 1 spark plug wire, what else have you tested?
Sounds like a water pump, since you are going to do both timing belts (soon hopefully) your water pump will be fully exposed, very easy to change at that point.
I agree with Pauly. Not sure what your plans are with the car, personally i would get the head port/polished and valve angles reworked, wouldn't hurt to replace the valve stem seals and taking a look at the valve guides for wear. Just my 2cedit: also consider some new 3g lifters (if u need them)
The front of the head to me means the area where the cam gears are located, if you really mean the front of the head then its probably the cam seals or valve cover gasket on that side. :hmm:
I think that you have found your problem. Check the wire for any breaks, check continuity.Did you place the battery under a load test? just 12VDC doesnt mean anything, test it under load.
I have all of my OEM decals on my 92 tsi... I will pm you the pics with a ruler sizing them up both vertically and horizontally by this weekend.I was actually looking for some as i plan on getting my car fully repainted.fwdmaster put up a link to my thread...
It all depends on what you are planning on doing.Get a digital gauge if you plan on getting the Link V3, you can have the ECU target a boost point using the signal from your digital boost gauge.Else, i would go with an analog for just a reference.
Hi all,I need to replace my rad cap (coolant neck cap). The OEM is a 0.9 bar. I have found afew after market ones (greddy/mishimoto/power/apexi) they are all 1.3bar. I have an all OEM cooling system.Would i have any issues going with a higher pressure cap?Would it be better for my...
Sorry for highjacking thread, I have very similar problem. I have loads of wiggle on The pivot point circled near the base plate. When in gear it allows the shifter to wiggle sideways up to 0.5 inch in each direction (so i can see a full inch of deflection).I have taken the console off and...
Hi, I dont mean to be rude, but have you looked at the tech guide, everything "gusu" told you to do is in there.Tech Guide: 2G 4G63t Upgrades - DSMtuners(you probably want to do both stage 1 & 2 together)Enjoy modding!:hellyeah:
Thanks for all the feedback. I will send the working one out to ECM tuning. Get the new caps and socket conversion.I have some pictures of the "bad" ecu.1) Does anyone know why there is white goop on the screws? Does this indicate a rebuilt unit? (i have never seen the goop on any Mitsu...
One must wonder why the pressure is 170 on all 4 cylinders. May be due to the fact there is a faulty gauge or incorrect method of testing also. If you dont mind, how did you do the test? (not trying to be mean, just something seems odd, since every cylinder should have some variance) :coy:
I am following the rules/regulations/requests; a request reads: Post in the correct forum, not the Newbie forum just because it's busy.Hate to say it, but getting a response in the newbie forum is much quicker and much more vast. All i have is 2 simple questions as a matter of opinion. Hence...
Okay, So i just so happen to have an ECU hanging around. Well actually its one that i have been trying to sell for some time now. Nobody wanted a non-eprom one. My luck i guess. I swapped the ecu's out and the car started right away, just came back from a 2 hour drive.Questions:1) I did...
I have a similar issue to this one:http://www.dsmtuners.com/forums/newbie-forum/304579-possible-ecu-problems-fixed-bad-ecu.htmlSorry for starting a new thread but my problem is slightly different. My car sat for 1 month as i was out of the country on business. Today i decided it was...
Hi All,I am looking for OEM decals for my 92 Tsi. My car needs some cosmetic work done to it, rock chips on hood and fenders, rust bubbles in rear quarters etc etc... I would like to replace all of the decals with oem ones when it gets painted. I have not been able to find any one that sells...
Car looks clean, typical rust spots for cars from the prairies.Personally i would save your money, save up for an AWD, i am sure you would like to be able to plow thru all that snow in the winters.
Looks like you are running too rich, your injectors might be dripping. You also mentioned bad fuel economy, could also be the injectors. I would look into the fpr also.
Hmmm, If you decide to do the modification I would be very interested in seeing how it worked out. Some pictures possibly...? Good luck to you! :thumb:
I wouldn't waste my time with installing a head gasket. Sure sounds like the engine needs a full rebuild. Get to work! LOLAs far as tips are concerned; Follow the haynes manual, take the information in the manual with a grain of salt. You mentioned that you have knowledge of V8s. The engine...
