It really depends on what the price is. Other than King Motors in ontario, the only place with "Japanese" 4G63 is based out of Texas. And heaven forbid the engine doesnt work, I dont want to have to deal with returning it to texas...so returning to my point, it depends on the quality and the...
looking for anyone local who sells motors for my 98 gst... or any year 4g63 for that matter. Other than King motors in ontario, does anyone know anywhere else that sells our motor? could even be a 6 bolt, just looking for somewhere local and somewhere that has a warenty. thanks
I think my wastegate might just be trash I went to take the car for a try to get new tires put on it... I noticed that when my turbo spools that my stock boost gauge would almost snapped the needle off at the top and by about 3200 rpm... Yet its still not going as fast as it should, nor does it...
okay guys I got a brand new 98 eclipse gst. to me anyways when I got the car at the stock rubber blow off valve had been ripped in half and the previous owner attempted to electrical tape it back in place... the motor runs fine but when I get to about 3000 rpm I lose all power going to the...
As some of you know, ive recently replaced my clutch and it still doesnt want to disengage. When the car is in neutral, the slave push rod is resting on the fork as usual. However the fork is on the passenger side of the fork hole, rather than on the driver side. When I reset the fork (push the...
it looks like it could be a slave problem, even though its brand new... the push rod is completely extended and when i push the clutch it only moves the fork and push rod about .5~.75 inches... and when i went to get a new fork luckily there was a gst there, so i looked at how far his moved...
yes its ALWAYS nice to have a spare engine... :/ lol wish i knew this... but one thing you will learn is that dsm's follow murphys law, aka anything that can possibly go wrong on your rebuild normally will. My rebuild went from 800-1000 to rebuild the 2.0L... last i checked im at about...
after spending 12 hours swapping my clutch, getting my flywheel resurfaced and all the goodies with chaning out my clutch (awd) i go to test drive it yesterday... turn the car on, but the car does NOT want to go into gear.... so i turn the car off and it goes smooth as butter into and out of all...
I have a project GodSpeed FMIC and im having problems getting the bumper to fit properly around the piping... I mean it aaaaaalmost bolts up, but when i pull it into position, its about 1 inch away from fitting properly in the bumper holes... gonna try shaving the bumper down but any other...
it depends on why your going to rebuild. And that person is ref. to stroking your motor to a become a 2.3L rather than a 2.0... stick with the 2.0 lol... so back to my original question, why are you rebuilding?
ok, i know on some cars it doesnt hurt to vent the bov, but what are the drawbacks of venting on a dsm? i know i know read the FSM but i just am looking for pros/cons... dont judge me lol
So i guess when i was removing the driver side axle ( intermediate shaft) i missplaced the 2 bolts that hold the axle in place... and ive checked all the junkyards around my area and there are ZERO gsx/tsi awd there... so ordered from mitsu and i should get them in tuesday :D finally after over...
yes it was bled propperly, because we cont. to bleed the clutch for about 20 mins and only liquid was seen in the clear hose/fill cup...on that note the only thing that kinda strikes a bell was when we were installing the master cylnder, after bench bleeding it, we went to put it back on...
when i press the clutch to the down, it goes directly to the floor and will stay there unless i use my hand to pull it back up.Just replaced Master and slave and it STILL wont come back up... all air is drained from resivour to slave, anc clutch engages, but wont "disengage" or "spring" back...

solved, there was a crack/fracture in the timing cover... just my luck... though fixable just kinda bummed that its yet another wrench thrown in the mix... everything comes in cycles though :D ordered the new cover along with gaskets, should be in within a week... keep yall posted
As stated i just finished rebuilding my motor with a new to me block... now when it turns on there is a oil leak from BEHIND the balance/r sprocket... my mechanic said he tried replacing the seal to no avail... He started saying that it could be the bushing on the other side... Curious if this...
This is the point i made in the first place... thank you for being the first person to get my humor and know what im talking about lololand by no means is this a FWD bashing thread... that was just implied with the 9 sec geo metro comment

yes hondas are good platforms i just dont like getting rev'd at by kids in new Si's in my daily.... this post is in all good funand thanks...
ah, well sir i see two obvious flaws in your statement...1) thats not possible to make that much HP from that car2) I dont think Rhode Island is even a state yet... PREEEETTY sure its still just a province
being from Rhode Island this must be the honda your talking about...right?<a href="http://s1089.photobucket.com/albums/i356/2gTSIFZone/?action=view&current=ar123101475114387.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i1089.photobucket.com/albums/i356/2gTSIFZone/ar123101475114387.jpg"...
after 2 weeks of waiting my crank position sensor blade FINALLY came in... car should be started today or tomorow :Dlooks like im going back to "Winning"
after snapping a bolt for my waterpump, i threw in the towel... i called a tow truck and had it towed to my local mechanics shop... needed the bolt to be tapped and didnt feel like pulling the motor back out... excited ### its being professionally finished but not looking forward to the cost...
I currently have a "GlowShift" A/F ratio gauge... do i still need to get an AEM Wideband? and if so what is the upside to getting this wideband? i understand that it displays the A/F ratio, but it being wideband?
As you may or may not know, i got my 1995 AWD Talon TSI back in the first week of june 2010. I got to drive it all of a week and 2 days before my alternator boiled and "popped" my battery... after getting a new alt. and battery i took it on a test run around the block and ended up throwing a...
yeah ive read up on it... make sure engine is TDC then set the timing makrs on the cams a bit lower than the "level" position, set the oil pump marks up and then get the blade on the crank pully to line up with the little timing line
took me about 6 hours yesterday to replace my water pump... STILL not done, had to take the timing belt tensioner off so that is not being the thorn in my side... days like yesterday make me so pissed because ive put all this time money and effort into this car, but it doesnt even wanna help...
ok i figured as much, my next door neighbor who was a ford mechanic for 20+ years was telling me this weekend that it was needed for the lower sensor to "complete its job" and allow the engine to turn over... thanks
In the process of putting the finishing touches on my motor, and ive run into a snag... when i go to fire the car up it just cranks and it sounds like its ALMOST going to turn over and i can feel/hear the engine making compression, its getting fuel and its getting power, but for some reason no...
***UPDATE***Figures found a second ground for my starter tucked into the wiring harness /facepalm.... lol so now it turns over fine BUT im getting no spark -_- and my waterpump is leaking....oh the JOYS of my dsm lolgoing to check my sensors tomorow and double check that they are all...
no i am using the stock ones... and it was wierd because when we would have to swap brake fluid cans and air would get back in the system the pedal would be super soft and fall with little force. but the more we bled it the more resistance i would get... at the moment it feels like its about...
