I know it's an old topic, I found it with search. I'm having trouble choosing between 17" and 18" rims... and 255/40R17 and 255/35R18 tires, respectively. Can you post your pics againg, Parin? They seem to have gone down.
Reminds me of when my alternator was shot. Suddeny I couldn't rev past a certain amount, and it got lower, lower... 'till the car could barely move at all. Turned off the car and it wouldn't start anymore, dead battery.
Sorry to revive an old thread, but I have the vary same question. I'm converting my GST into a GSX, but I don't have a donor car. Here in Brazil GSX's are absurdly rare and cost as much as a 3000GT VR4. Also, importing parts is expensive due to shipping and suffer a lot of taxes (which, BTW...
So it's Evo cups -> LSD tripods -> DSS Shaft? Can it be the Evo's tripod bearings or they have different splines? Didn't someone say that the Evo's cups are the same as Non-LSD cups or am I imagining things?
Hello guys!I'm doing the AWD Swap into my GST. I got the non-LSD rear end and I wanted to put the DSS Level 2 axles with the Evo diff, which reuse the stock cups, however, they're for LSD equipped cars only. Is there any way to do that, do Evo axles have different lengths??
Hey there guys! Anybody tried CXRacing's Water/Air intercoolers? I found a few links to their cores and kits (which includes a pump and a radiator, but no piping), seems like they could have a nice potential with custom piping.Like the one on this link:
cxracing.com: 14.25" Aluminum 2 Rows...
I've had the same idea... but what about a completely mirrored manifold? I don't think it'd be that hard to do, just mirror the CAD drawing and fabricate it like that. We could talk to FP, I'd be all over it.
So, no bracket and it'd fit 13" rotors? Anybody tried with Evo VIII/IX ones? They're 12.8" in diameter, but I don't know the offset. They're (quite obviously) used in the Evo VIII/IX caliper swap. In my opinion it'd be quite the alternative to that, having the same piston bores as the Evo's...
Sorry it took so long to reply. My mechanic tested the power transistor but that wasn't it. He ordered a new CAS but they sent him a wrong one twice now. I'll reply back as soon as I get an update. Since it takes SO FREACKING LONG for those CAS to arrive here in Brazil, any other suggestions are...
Hello guys! My DSM is having a crazy problem that nobody so far was able to solve. It's fine when I drive normally, but when I use more engine power for a certain period of time (like hillclimbing, or just generally "having fun" driving) it starts failing, the tach goes crazy too.My...
Hey guys!Me and my DSM are in a contest to win a trackday on Facebook. The picture with the most like in Facebook on 11/14 wins! Please, help a fellow DSMer in need, and friend me if you want! Here's the link...
Personally I love the stock, big wing. Rear downforce is important even on FWD cars, though not as much as in RWD and AWD. I remember reading a thread about people that removed their rear wings, general consensus was that removing it worsened their handling, making the car less stable on higher...
Yeah, those ACT clutches are certainly the most common around here, but I heard MANY horror stories about them... For each guy that loves them there is there's another that had a horrible experience and would never use them again. That's why I was trying to avoid. The Competition Clutch Ironman...
Hey guys! ("tl;dr guys", skip to the last two paragraphs)I have a '95 Eclipse GST with 75,000 miles almost stock. My turbo was dying so I bought an Evo III 16g but then the whole shortage happened and I got no turbo, the vendor asked if I wanted a refund, but I told them to wait. In the...
The other 16g's are just as expensive as the Evo III (everywhere I see, at least). Also, I wasn't looking it used ones, I've had quite bad luck with rebuilt/refurbished stuff in the past, I don't wanna risk going through it again. Also, it's forbidden to import used auto parts here in Brazil...
Hey guys!My turbo stock died and I was about to upgrade to a 16g EVO III, I even bought an install kit... but as you guys know, there were the shortages... Is there any other turbo alternative to this one, up to $800? Could be better, even. I'll probably need to get forged internals now...
I'm waiting for it too. I bought one from MachV but it seemed like I was a little too late. I paid for it already, but I'm waiting for news before I get a refund.
I asked the clearance and he replied that he had almost an inch. Also, I'd like to see the pic of the Evo X with the 17" RPF1's, if you don't mind, kidtsi. It's not that I don't believe or anything, I just want to see the picture. I love Evo X's and RPF1's. :)
Just a hypothesis, I was reading around here that crankwalk could cause weird stuff to the clutch... is it true? Could that be the problem? I hope not...
I've been using the car more often this week (every day, as opposed to every weekend), and the problem seemed to go away, at least until today. I drove it on the highway (not over 75mph at any moment) and it happened again. :/ This thing gets more and more confusing the more I look at it.
AFAIK, Exo X brakes require 18" wheels. 17x8.5 +40 RPF1s clear the Evo VIII/IX's front brakes. I will ask the clearance, but that shouldn't be a problem as that guy seems to be running it for a long time.
Hey guys!A few weeks ago my clutch master cylinder was leaking so I had it replaced (with a brand new OEM one) at my trusted mechanic, however, a few days after I got the car back, something weird has happened. The clutch pedal was way too soft but after a few pumps it goes back to normal...
I heard from a couple of guys from EvolutioM forums that they were using 17x8.5 +40 wheels without spacers. I heard that a few sizes of these wheels had different spoke design (more curved) to allow more caliper space, so I assume this was the case. The Evo guys usually end up using +30 offset...
It wouldn't be worth it to rebuild it here in Brazil, I doubt anybody could do this right (without costing more than a new turbo, at least. This kindo of thing is expensive here). So what's exactly the problem of running the 16g at wastegate pressure, is it much higher than the T25? Also Forced...
Hey guys!I have a '95 GST bone stock at 75,000 miles and my Turbo seems to be going bad. The car is burning oil and it doesn't seem as fast as it used to be. That is the only issue with it, it's not overheating or anything. My mechanic checked and said that it's the turbo going bad, other...
Hey guys! I'm having two issues with my car right now. (The car is basically stock.)First, my ABS light is coming up randomly. I cleaned the sensors, it's happening a lot less frequently now (once every 3-4 days as opposed to every day or two), but it's still happening. Could it be the ABS...
I think I found the problem. The A/F trim was loose, the car was running super rich. No wonder I noticed that its fuel consumption had increased... Gonna fix it up, see what happens.
I know. It's nothing compared to the Corvette I drove a few weeks ago. Thing is, it's a lot weaker than normal. Not undriveable, but the car seems as fast as my 1.4L Honda Fit with a CVT transmission (like I said, before the turbo kicks in) that I drive daily, it wasn't like that.Either way...
