^Good info, also i'm sure there are other ways like knowing people or having enough money to pay them off...Btw, weren't you the guy that got banned from the local forum (sedsm) years back for ripping someone off for like $80 if I remember correctly?
Need to get rid of my old parts car, currently it's sitting in my brother's backyard and I need to move it.Only has about 160k miles on chassis. Comes with 3g eclipse wheels, 4 bolt rear end with axles, clutch pedal assembly rebuilt by Shepard. Has a lot of miscellaneous parts still on it...
Was asked to make a 5" aluminum exhaust downpipe and dump tube for a drag rb25 240 sxY-pipe for a 2100hp full street r35 with full interior and a/c . Lol
Hey there, trying to get out of the DSM game to free up some space and move onto a different project.Really just hoping to find some local people first before making individual for sale adds.I have two identical black/silver AWD '91 Eagle Talons. One is a parts car that still has a 4 bolt...
I like using the Tigster gloves by Black Stallion. Can still feed .045 wire with them and they are durable enough to do mechanical work with or grab hot metal.Good job on the work!
Yeah, I got to spend a lot of time under that car. LolTBH, not exactly sure on the details about it. I just know it's completely legal and a very beautiful rare car for sure. ;-)Thanks man
Was a very sad day for me yesterday at the shop, the skyline came out of my bay :( Now, one of our top techs is going to start finishing it up and getting it ready for the dyno. This was by far the biggest build I've ever done and was even surprised the owner wanted me to get this car done from...
As much as, I really enjoyed pipe welding and such. I always knew that I got into welding because of cars and my passion.Just got a job at TopSpeed Motorsports! And even though I will be making a lot of parts for GTRs, the dsm's are still my thing :)Unfortunately, i'm the only...
That car is a true work of art. I do agree that some things about the engine could've been done different to make it more reliable from the factory. That's why I'm just following the reliability mod path with it, like keeping the excessive heat out of engine bay, silicone vacuum lines and not...
Finally got this piece finished off. Actually ran into a little problem of shrinkage and warpage during the build and started running out of material so the end result has more welds than was originally necessary.LolThe plan was just making the downpipe but ended up making a one piece downpipe...
The older I get the more I like the idea of having a working air conditioning on my cars. Before, when I was much younger, I would just tear it out or not hook it up.Definitely a very interesting subject and thread. Thanks for posting this up :thumb:
Great thread and good work!Gotta ask though, I noticed you have a pretty big landing on your butt joints. Any reason for that, are you still getting full penetration like that? Or are you not worried about that with thicker pipe
That was using a 3/32" filler wire, 1/8" Lanthanated tungsten, and a small gas lense with no.8 cup. About 120-130 amps if I remember correctly.A good way to pick up on walking the cup technique, is to grab yourself any cup size and take it home. Than while watching TV or something just sit...
To adjust the idle out you could try using your ignition timing. I've been running without ISC/Fiav for about 7 years now but with AEM. There is a table in aem that lets you adjust ignition timing based on idle error. In other words, if my idle drops than it bumps the timing up to an extra 20...
Been working on the piping for the Mitsubishi skid, as always, we are still waiting on a bunch of valves and flanges to come in so I do what I can in the mean time. Makes the final fit up much more interesting that way. LOL1 inch pipe with a 1/4" threading1" socket weld with a 1/16th gap...
With stainless tubing it can be a little challenging for sure. When building the base try have all four sides clamped. It would still move slightly out of square after tacking but all you doing is minimizing that. Don't tack or weld the sides before doing the tops and bottoms of tubing first...
Just started last week working on a new skid for Mitsubishi Heavy Industry...I knew it was in the works for some time now but kept getting delayed because the customer couldn't make their mind up on some things... damn MHI :dsm:
Never tried MIG on stainless, only thing I can suggest is to start on something thicker than 16 gauge. Good luck, let us know how it turns out.We had some issues with the syncrowave at work too, it was doing some weird things. Turned out the foot pedal was shorted internally, so it was always...
Some carbon steel pipe
3/32 gap, 1/16 wire for root and cap, 1/8 wire for hot pass, 1/8 Lanthanated tungsten. Dynasty 200 set at 115 amps for root and cap, 130 amps for hot pass, all using scratch start.
