Thank you for the information Gofer! I DID have the plugs backwards! So I turned the key and it sputtered a bit. Then after a couple tries I heard something go wrong. Turns out the oil pump from Rockauto I installed seized. I didn't read on non OEM front cases until last night when it was too...
Hello my fellow Phoenix area DSMers! I am reaching out to you all for help. My DSM has been down for more than a year since I had the motor refreshed and turbo rebuilt. After putting everything back together, I have been unable to get it to fire up. I had a bad ECU and purchased another from a...
I am down to hang out and wrench. I am currently doing bodywork on my NA 2G and will start working on my turbo 1g pretty soon. Just need to save up some dough.
That turboed 420a is a fully built bottoem end and top end motor. I rebuilt it about 4 yrs ago for a good buddy of mine then he decided to run it low on oil and threw cylinder number 4 rod bearing lol. So im in the process of rebuilding it all again :hellyeah:NICE!! Not to many boosted...
If you want the best out of a NA DSM go with a 2.4l cloud car block (Stratus/Sebring) and your ported head. I suggest Crane cams, lightweight flywheel and a good clutch. Upgrade the fuel injectors and pump and tune with Megasquirt. Don't get to crazy with your exhaust, 2.5" is good. Find some...

I think a list and COSCO is a good idea. Lets get the word out and see how many people are going. We will figure out how much money people will need to pitch in after we get the list. You still have my number?
Yeah! Let's get this going. You guys wanna do something for the July 16th weekend?Pulling my engine and tranny is also the plan. I need to get a garage cooler though cause once the sun comes out... its a wrap! Ha!
Nah man! I was born and raised here. I know whats still too come.I think the last attempt at a get-together at the pool was too short notice for some people. Maybe we can start getting some momentum with this though!
Hey everyone! I know it's hot as satans bunghole out here, but where is everyone at?! Who's working on what?! Who has a pool so we can have a get together at their place?! HA!
The Pavs is really just a bunch of car and motorcycle guys hanging out. Most people go with their groups and chill. Nothing really to crazy. It's fun to go with friends and looks at some cool cars.
Welcome to AZ! There is a meet in Chandler at In & Out held once a month and also a weekly car meet at Scottsdale Pavilions. The meet at the Pavilions is not DSM specific, but some guys go up there. Keep an eye out for some random meets as well.
Since I was planning to do a turbo 420a, I know that Tony from UMS knows how to tune with Megasquirt. I don't know about Phuong at Wingz though. OP if you know how to tune with Megasquirt you will have a lot of Neon and NA DSMs at your door. Megasquirt is the primary means of tuning for those...
Yeah, it's the 2.5. It rocks! We drove to San Diego (5hrs) and drove around there for the weekend on one tank! It's got some pep too even when it had 20 inch rims on it.
Okay, so lets step back for a second. If you want this build to be a lot less confusing, you must realize you do NOT have a Mitsubishi motor. It's a Chrysler motor. Nothing will fit on a 420a that came from a 4G63.Now, you CAN meet your power levels. I suggest taking a look at 2gnt.com...
I say we take the 420a and stick "vtack" and "powered by honda" stickers all over it!! ROFL Then we will get love from both sides! Eh?But for real, I'm going to see if I can snag my fiance's Altima coupe. It's will be a comfy ride in that thing!
Well I'm going in the N/A 2G! Booyah! Smoke all of you guys! 420A Power! :rolleyes:Unfortunatly, my TSi will have most of it's drivetrain at Wingz getting work done, at the time of this event.
Hey guys! I wish I would have checked this on Sunday! I would have gone back to help out. Good to here the car is running well. Maybe we can work on my car next ;)I do promotion for bars and stuff every once an a while, so I will see if I can get us a place for a meet. I'll do the fliers too.
I would check the wiring to the head unit fist. It could just be a loose connection. If everything checks out back there then remove your door panel and check the speaker wiring there and the speaker. Your speaker might have just crap'd out.
I don't think oil will cause corrosion, but water will. If you were leaking from the oil cap it would have been all over your valve cover. It almost sounds like a overheated motor with a blown head gasket or jacked up valve seals.
WTF Do you get written up for farting too?! That place sounds extremely boring to live in.Move down here, to South Phoenix!! :cool:We do whatever we want! :mrt:
