Well other than the clutch line totally went out last night none really. Just bought 2 rear tires that cost $400 installed. Lol. Call me if you want some more infoSent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I bought this car with a lot of hidden lack of maintenance problems and spent all year fixing them as much as I could. Only aftermarket parts are flashing ECU and mishimoto radiator. That's it. Everything is stock on it.Oh and I'm leaving Sunday.Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I've decided to move back to Indiana. And will not be taking the car with me. It does have its problems.1) 4th gear syncro is gone and doesn't shift into it. Rest of the gears are fine.
2) PS feed line section that goes into the rack is kinked and leaking so no PS until it's replaced.
3)...
Haha. Don't worry. I'm sure mike is gentle. I should of checked the forums lately. I was trying to find a roommate too but already signed a lease for a 1 bedroom last week. Damn.Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I'm looking for a good 2G radiator with not too many fins bent. Mine is leaking bad and just looking for a quick replacement for now. I just miss driving my car.
Got it fixed. BoostedinAZ basically just turned it with his fingers and it came out. So a big thanks to him and does great work. Now its time to drive it since its been sitting since May.
You can but you are on your own on that one. I have mine set to "ready" but I had help finding where the code was to change it. Ceddy won't patch it because it is illegal to change these.
Yea the furthest I get into making friends is at the corner Applebees for Happy Hour since I'd rather drink alcohol then take the prescription stuff. Plus the fact that there is a baby involved now makes it harder to move on completely.
I suffer from depression because of a female. I lived in Indiana for 22 years but because of her I left and moved to Arizona with no friends and no job already lined up so I bought another DSM and that is that. I'm trying to make the best of it but in a new place its really hard to. And because...
I might just tow mine to the You fix it garage in Phoenix since thats the only place I can work on it and they have tools. haha. Mines not too bad. Just a timing belt/water pump job + drill out the alternator bracket bolt. The thing is its a long drive so the tow would suck.
My radiator fan just fine without my A/C fan. Sounds like somebody screwed up the wiring maybe. Does the wiring look stock? Are all the relays working in the fuse box?
It does work but I dunno to what extent. Somebody thought that a 1G alternator was needed on my old 2g talon's 6 bolt swap. They cut the two wires and soldered the two needed wires to the 1g plug so it could work.
The 2g alternator has the other two connections for the regulator and ECU...
It could be from the waterpipe/water pump o-ring connection or from the pump itself. It also could be from the oil cooler. My o-ring started leaking one time when I replaced a clutch. I guess I knocked the pipe hard enough to make the aged o-ring leak.
Since it looks like Adam is starting a up north thread I figured we need one further south.I'm in Mesa and off of Higley and Brown. Haven't been able to drive it in a couple months due to a broken and hard to get to bolt. So I hope its up and running soon.
My old machine shop was the same way turboglenn. They didn't know how to take the balls out of the crank. So I shipped it to a vender on here. But you know Mitsubishi likes to do things that nobody else does and pisses people like us off. In turn.... Nobody knows how to properly work on our...
If it is for the stock oil gauge and light.... When the light comes on it's too late for your engine anyways so I don't bother to fix it. But the stock gauge is pretty reliable and could be used as a backup. It's up to you but I would make sure the gauge is working.
Do NOT pull the battery cable while it's running. It can cause a voltage spike and can fry sensitive electronics like the ECU in a heartbeat. As for those wires.... There are two wires that go to the oil filter housing for the pressure gauge sensor and the oil light. Then there is a 4 wire...
Edges of the belt groove? You mean the ribs right? Or not to clamp the sides of the pulley?Looks like the bolt is broken off into the block. More like twisted off. I have NEVER torqued this bolt since I bought the car. Looks like I will probably trade it in or try and sell it since I can't fix...
Since the bracket bolt is stripped. How the hell can I take off the water pump pulley? There is nowhere to wedge it and preventing it from moving. I can't put the belt back on and tension it to keep it from moving because that is the reason I have to take it off. Any ideas? So the basic...
Take off the alternator and take it to an alternator shop so they can test it. They will tell you for sure if its the alternator which sounds like it. The bench tests at autozone pretty much suck.
Do you have a different voltmeter or a multimeter? I have a nice one at home and a cheap $3 harbor freight meter in the trunk. Are any of your interior or exterior bulbs like really bright? If so sounds like your voltage regulator in your alternator is dead.Until you verify if it's the gauge...
http://www.dsmtuners.com/forums/articles-electrical-wiring/179481-finding-short-partial-short-battery-drain.htmlRead this. Basically you have to disconnect the negative battery cable and connect the test light between the negative cable and the negative battery post. And start pulling relays...
You could find a DSMLink v2 with the palm software or you could get a 98/99 ECU and look in the code for the cycle tests. Other than these other two options......Nope.
Yes but its better than not doing anything to them as they will haze over really quick. The sun out here in the AZ is cooking my headlights everyday. I've had to do them three times before I sourced out a sheet of this UV stuff. Its nice.
You have to put a UV resistant film on it to protect it like how they came brand new. When you restore them you clean up the scratches and pitting but you also remove the UV protective layer. Put that layer back on and you wouldn't have to repeat it often.
Just for reference..... I had a broken regulator for the rear quarter windows and Mitsubishi says that it is a discontinued item. So if you can't find a used one in decent shape then you are basically screwed.
Well as I was installing the alternator today the alternator bracket bolt was a tad loose that holds the tensioner. I go to tighten it just a little bit since its only supposed to be 15ft/lbs and well its stripped or broken in the hole. So it looks like I have to take the TB and water pump off...
Damn wish I could go. I would in a heartbeat but this alternator problem still isn't solved. My ECU finally is toast. haha. Besides I'll be on a plane to Indiana and I'll be junkyarding there quite a bit since there isn't crap here in these.
I'm having the same exact problem. I checked the wire colors and my wires are not in the same order as the factory service manual. It's only charging at 12.2 volts and the FSM said that the G terminal might be grounded at the ECU which sucks ### I have no clue where to start
Just do all the maintenance before thinking about upgrading any parts. I've learned my lesson from the past two DSMs I've had. This one was a bit weird as the owner didn't know jack about this car. He had temps plates on it still. 4th felt a little notchy which was fine but a couple weeks into...
I've seen a couple here too in the junkyards in Phoenix. One was an eclipse and one was a talon. They were both non turbo and the door panels were all tan as well. And I agree...... It looks too plain. It needs a different color accent
I have the US Plastics check valve too. They were just talking about PCV valves though. You still need an PCV valve in there to maintain the amount of vacuum since it's a measured hole. The check valve is only there to seal the crankcase from intake boost and the pcv does the job of controlling...
All I have to say is good luck. Took me a whole month to find mine and the previous owner never took care of it as I'm throwing tons of replacement parts on her now
Yea I graduated in 06 so four years of no HS kinda sucks. Well only the part about seeing your friends everyday and not having to worry about if they have the day off to chill or not. haha. Making new friends in a totally different city across the country really sucks though as I'm 1500 miles...
Nvm. Not going now. My battery light came on tonight so I checked my alternator output and it was 15.4 volts so the regulator is fried. Battery is only putting out 13.9 while on so I don't know. But the alternator is dead and I have no money for even a POS autozone one.
Yea apartment complexes like that suck. Nobody complains at mine but back in Indiana I was at one which they wouldn't allow you to check anything so I changed the tranny in the middle of the night so nobody knew. haha. Anyways yea replace the PCV valve with an OEM one for now and rent a...
There is a recall on the transfer cases leaking. Not sure if it's still there but JNZ Tuning has the transfer case recall kit where it comes with all of the parts new. It's fairly cheap too.
