Brand new GSC cams..parting out my car. $500 picked upBrand New looking JDM Mitsubishi valve cover in "black chrome" also for sale...$160 picked upPM for pictures
210*F is what I see on average while city driving (Stop and Go's) with OEM fans wired like factory.
While in the highway for a long period of time, it will sit at about 180*F.
I have a Mishimoto 3-row radiator and OEM cap.
I used ECMLink and the fans don't kick on until 210*F or 213*F one of...
All 2g DSM's that came with 4 disc brakes have the same rear suspension design.
Your suspension knuckle is more than likely the culprit. Is it rubbing on both sides??
I have 9" wheels with a 245/40 tires and not rubbing whatsoever. I have probably 2 fingers clearance.
It looks to be like an actual B&M shifter.
The handle looks very similar to mine, but take note of the location of the seller.
He's not from the states...and the shifter has been discontinued for a while as well.
I was trying to have them downwards to avoid cutting the knuckle that much, but the calipers have been machined already so whatever is required now hahaAnd they are rpf-1....a lot of evo guys are running this setup and they all checked ok.
Almost nobody in the dsm community has these wheels...
I have 17x9 +35 and need a 20mm spacer to clear the calipers.Btw, can anyone who has done the swap please verify that this is how the calipers need to be machined to clear the mounting ears on a 2g!Driver side:Passenger side:
Does anyone know which mounting ear for the front calipers has to be tap for the bigger pitch?
Is it the top or bottom mounting ear? Same for both sizes?
Thank you!
People read "exhaust" and jump on the bandwagon for straight pipes and screw catalytic converters.
Stick with a 2.5" system, don't look into the turbo model mufflers like others suggested. More than likely they'll be 3" inlets. Which if you have never heard of a 3" on n/a...
A friend of a friend is in Japan right now and is willing to help me find JDM Knuckes, but I'm not exactly sure what trim or year they come off.
Anyone know any details on the model of the car please????
^^Incorrect.
FWD turbo models from factory are equipped with single piston calipers.
AWD are equipped with dual piston calipers.
All turbo models have the same rear caliper.
And they both have different size front rotors. The sales person probably sold you FWD pads, post pictures.
Personally, if you don't know the COMPLETE history of that motor, I wouldn't re-use the oil pump. You don't know if its been changed and your actually re-using an Autozone pump.
That's my personal feeling about using old parts, some prefer to re-use them...I obviously don't.
It doesn't matter what intercooler kit you get...huge, big, small. This won't restrict which bumper your able to use, just trim it according to what size you decide to go.
The Punishment kit allows to keep the factory fogs on a 2gb...I'm sure it's the same for a 2ga since the brackets are in the...
Before I would even consider disassembling this engine or dropping another penny...I would get ahold of the member who sold it you and sen it back right where it came from. I'm pretty sure you didn't pay cheap.
Unless, of course you were well aware of what you were buying.
1. You can only do the front Cobra conversion.
2. You need Cobra 13" rotors.
3. You need Ford Cobra/Mach 1 2-piston PBR calipers with brackets.
4. You need custom caliper bracket adapters to use those calipers on your DSM sold by RTMracing.com and hardware.
5. You need a different thread banjo...
16g's have same size or similar size as a t-25 because its considered a "factory " turbo.
I doubt Mitsubishi would want to have a 3" turbo inlet on their cars. Lol
You will not find a REAL performance tire under $100.
And 205's for performance?...I would try the snowtire, if not...I would wait to get a bigger wheel.
Your best bet will be to contact FP, if you bought it directly from them brand new.
I don't see why they would refuse to look at it since its a new turbo.
The 71HTA hasn't been around long enough for people to start using them to their full potential.
The closest thing that you can compare it to is the HTA Green. It's got a bigger wheel, but it's better than comparing it to an old school 20g.
Quick update, the fitment is REALLY tight...but it fits perfect.
No trimming was necessary at all, and for the fans coming on...the ECU kicks the fans on at 213*, I was at 210* when I triggered the fans on via Link. I let it warm up until it reached 213* and WALA, the fan came on. Everything is...
Before I triggered the fans to kick on, it creeped all the way to 210* just idling.
That's when I triggered the fans via link and it quickly dropped to 160ish*.
So after installing a 3 row radiator and the OEM fans along with having them running at the same time, temperature won't pass from 170*.
BUT, now the thing is that the fans WON'T come on by themselves unless I purposely trigger them to run at all times :/
The eBay slim fans would come on...
Does anyone know what pin I should tap if i am replacing the rear o2 sensor for an MTX-L sensor on a 2g? I think for the front o2 pin 76 is tapped, is it the same for the rear? Thanks.EDIT: I just looked at the ECU Pinout diagram in the Wiki and it says pin 75?
The FP manifold doesn't place the turbo way off from the factory location, if there's even any displacement.
If there is a problem, I'll just trim the fans.
