Just the outer ring came off. There was no damage done to timing cover. I was able to remove the crank pulley by removing the 4 12mm bolts holding it on. Luckily i have a extra pulley. Now how do i loosen the ac tensioner? I dont even know where its located.

Take off the radiator cap with the car running and see if the coolant is circulating properly. You should see a steady flow of the coolant. If it isnt flowing, then i would suggest a new water pump.
I had the SAME EXACT PROBLEM in my spyder. It ended up being a bad radiator cap. Radiator caps are inexpensive and if that dont work, atleast we can rule out that theory. Also it cant hurt to "burp" your coolant system. Might have some air bubbles in there as well.

Yes, you will be able to use this ecu in your car. Though its from a 99 spyder, you will be using either a 98 gsx rom or 99 gsx rom completely converting your ecu from a 99 spyder to either a 98 or 99 gsx ecu.EVEN if you just wanted to plug it in a drive away, there still would be NO problems...

That message is saying that your retrieving your stock rom from the ecu. You cant view it in ecuflash or edit it. Its just a file of the whole ecu. What i would recommend doing is saving that file and place it on your desktop. The only way you can edit anything is with ceddys rom from his website.

Yes you can utilize the sd cable to work with JUST the iat but IMHO its only two wires your splicing on the maf harness. I would sell the cable to get some money.

The evo/montero/3g maf all wire the same as a 2g. All you do is just line up the wires from your 2g maf harness over to the new evo/montero/3g maf pigtail. I also believe the pigtail is the same color code as a 2g.
Id save your money and get a shep tranny. Why pay extra if your gonna go big. It seems like you can tolerate shifting the way you do just to stay in first lol
