good to know. why i come here. i have the tech knowledge to do things myself, any idea where to buy rebuild parts? i was just gonna do a google search but if i can get the knowledge here its just as easy. its a 2g spyder i can find the turbo part and such if needed.
what you think about the parts used? reputable? usable? personally i need to find somewhere to get parts to rebuild a turbo. i have a 98 eclipse gst spyder that is blowing oil into the intake. :-(
hey guys was on youtube today and came across this turbo rebuild video and was wondering what you guys thought. Think in the video he says he got ebay parts and i know a lot of people on here don't like ebay but thought id share. How to Rebuild a Turbo - Part 1 of 2 - YouTube
so I'm about 90% sure that my seals in my turbo are back and causing oil blow by or burning oil. was curious if there was a rebuild kit for my turbo. in addition is it possible to upgrade the existing platform? like upgrade the internals for bigger spool up or more psi?
sorry about the pics i tried to post my original pics but they wouldnt post i had to resize them manually. id love to redo the headliner.........if i had one lol i have a spyder by the way. tho it does have a headliner type of piece. may do a new shift boot i bought almost 2 yds of the fabric to...
not 100% sure someone else might know better but sounds like the slave cylinder needs blead. i think the process goes like this blead the lines like you have been doing close the bleeder valve let the peddle up than open the bleeder valve and push the slave cylinder in as far as it will go and...
got my sunvisors done yesterday thought id post some pics. they were old ratty torn and just didnt look good anymore. as you can see from the pics i was able to keep my passanger side mirror and was even able to retain my useless garage door opener yay!!!! i even ended up with a fabric that...
i cant post in that thread so sorry for opening a new one:cry: just a question but couldnt you skip the whole rubber plug and nut thing and just drill the hole big enough to accept the vavle stem?
i just read the 05/06 outlander bigger brake upgrade tut and was wondering if this was a front and rear upgrade? also in the tut the rotors were slotted and croass drill and just for poops and laughter i looked at rockauto.com and it seems not all were slotted and cross drill any inquiry? They...
finally got out there today and had a chance to look at it. 4 lugs on the left front tire almost off. busted out the torque wrench torqued them down no more noise.
you can check the soft lines that connect to the calipers as well if they are clogged or kinked the dont allow the brake fluid to flow back into the master cylinder and cause the illusion of a stuck caliper.
Pads are at like 7-8/32 rotors are in good shape. Wouldn't warped rotors cause a shimmy when I'm braking as opposed to when I'm not? Gonna try and check the lugs when I get done work unfortunately I have a 96 jeep cherokee I'm working on for my mom and moms come first sometimes.
there arent any wheel weights on the outside i did get a look at that not sure if there was one there to begin with. i will check the lug nuts and the tire as soon a it stops raining and i can get out there. tires arent in great shape. the ball joints are in good shape as i said i just...
so today a thump started in my front end for no apparent reason. it sounds to me like its coming specifically from the front left tire. im thinking it may be a front wheel bearing as ive though that they may have been going for a while now but i went from a slight noise to a defenitally...
looks very nice. was interested in your valve cover filter install. does it make a mess of your engine bay? i was looking into do the same thing with a weapon r filter but was concerned about the open filter causing an oil leak in my engine bay.
i did get the vent out of my 98 spyder wasnt a have to to drop the glove compartment to get it out but doest make the job a lot easier. so you can take whatever route you like my opinion is to drop the glove and pop the cool air bypass line from back there.
thanks thats about what i was getting. i havent installed as of yet i think this is going to be a winter project as its a spyder and i generally store it.
i understand. i read the article that nasty dream posted and like alot of things on our dsms unless you plan on major modding (which i dont) you should try to keep things as close to the stock system as possible i.e. the pcv system isnt atmosphericly vented and shouldnt be switched to such a...
def 100x better with the chrome rims i hate black rims just not appealing. kinda like the eruo tails tho. i love a project.didnt think you could convert a spyder to all wheel drive because it didnt have the tunnel for the rear drive shaft. just interested thought i read that somewhere on here.
as you said you harness has been hacked up so you may find yourself trying to redo it yourself. wires could be crossed. also could be another bad coil pack. as for the obd port not reading try checking you cig lighter fuse. dont think the obd port has a fuse of its own and they like to get the...
if you decide to do the combustion gas test frickadella was talking about the kits are pretty inexpensive if i remember correctly and even pepboys carrys them. also pretty easy to do even if you arent very mechanically inclined. I think weve all been there and noone wants to mess up their car...
i dont know if you still need this but the blue circle are the fuses im talking about. the one on the right is the radio the one on the left is the interior lights. they used to be hooked togther but i separated them.
sorry you can see the circle but its the two red fuses in the lower left...
water pump or thermostat? coolant temp sensor? not sure why just a radiator would cause overheating issue by itself unless it was leaking and u didnt have coolant at all. could be a clogged heater core causing a flow issue. try flushing the system.
i was thinking a head gasket check the oil for the coffee with cream look. also the exhaust usually has a sweet smell to it but wouldnt suggest sucking up too much exhaust dont know what you college kids are into these day hahah just kidding
there is a duel fuse in the engine bay that houses i think two 10a fuses its in an incasement yellow i think i took mine off. but its for a radio/interior light fuse if one of the fuses are bad both systems dont work.
i was actually leary of the whole setup when i read it since there is oil flowing through the valve cover an all. unless i read wrong which is alway a possiblity.
interesting enough so its kinda like to you wanna buy both and work a little harder or take the easier route? as usual lazy doesnt pay off financially. hahaha
on a 2g are the wheel bearings whole hub assemblys or are they pressed in bearings? i dont have access to a shop press and have never pressed in a wheel bearing personally to boot. have on the other hand done whole hub assemblys and think it would be much much easier. Also is it really that much...
searched the part # and just an update it has a superseed part # that is mr970563 incase anyone else wanted to knowyea common sense to me would say the fuel door should be on the driver side just seems to make sense to me anyway.
does anyone have a part number for the spring? i live near a dodge dealership and they can look up part numbers but if i go in and tell them to look up a mitsu they tell me i cant. asked for an eagle too but there idiots.
So its like the filters a good idea but it should be incased? ###### a stupid question but how does the oil get returned or is it minimal oil that would actually go into the can?
