Your factory guage is an estimation of boost calculated from your maf its not an actual measurement of boost and will nevrr really tell you accurately what boost your running.
Sounds like you didnt line up your timing before you removed the belt, so before you put the head on make sure cylinder 1 is at the top aka top dead center (TDC) and the dowels on your cam gears are at top. If you try to do this after you put the head on there is a very good chance you'll bend...
If your on stock turbo stock cams cruising 65-70 in 5th that sounds about right. The 14b turbo spools around 2500-3000rpm which is where you'd be cruising at that speed, t25 is even less.
Hot engine, yes. Banging your head against the wall repeatedly causing a concussion and bloody fore head because you just toasted the head gasket and warped the head from the extreme heat knowing you could have prevented it and on top of it your going to have to do the timing belt again to...
Full Blown double pumpet hanger. This one is for my 1g but you get the idea. And its a nice piece but $$. All you have to do on your stovk hanger is zipp tie the pumps on use a y fitting and Yatzee.
Auto start car alarms will work on a manual transmission. You just have to trick it into thinking it is an auto in park ie ground out the park input wire with the ebrake wire. Word of advise not recommended. Its prety embarrassing chasing your car across the parking lot because you remote...
Yes that was what I was reffering to. If he has his fwd trany in. My car has a welded dif and I had the tcase on it with the drive shaft stubbed off at the first carrier bc the second blew out when it came off.
http://www.ecmtuning.com/demos.php?osCsid=s7kqt0fhrrcne151scnbnqlrd7Video #8 brief explain and good helpGood starting point. Global and DT equation is a starting point every injector is different. Once you have your starting point its more or less an educated guessing game based on logged...
It shouldn't. I had my drive shaft come loose at the rearend once and ended up having to cut it just past the first carrier bearing and drive fwd for a couple months till I could find a new one, never had a problem other than no traction from forgetting I was fwd.
I use a thin wall 1/4 drive 6 point long socket. You dont get a stright on fit but with the 6 pt you get enough bite you should be able to get it off. You can also use a short 1/4 six point and harbor freight has these nifty adaptors that yoh snap in and can use an open end wrech on for tight spots.
Going with gauge. Sounds like your vacuum line to the guage may be leaking. If you over tighten the compression nut on the back og the guage sometimes it will cut the nylon tube and cause a leak.
My favorite is the free flow designed merge colector to reduce turbulance, I'm guessing thier talking about the recirc merge and um last time I check 90° flow merger creates turbulance not reduceses lol
Balance shaft belt shredded 3 months aftrr I bought it luckily I bought the extended warranty when I got the car...yes I've had mine long enoight to have bought it used with a 100k extended warranty lol
On the timing belt install thats pretty much it. The cam sensor timing you ground the single wire timing plug on the fire wall and with a timing gun hooked to cylinder 1 plug wire gunning the harmonic turn the cam sensor to set timing to +/- 5° tdc
I figured out the previous question, but still have a no idle problem for the guys running the msd. I have narrowed it down to the msd. Recieved my bypass plug finally and with plugged in the car starts, runs, and idles. Unplug it, plug in the msd and no idle. That tells me the ignition wiring...
If when you turned it over it sounded like a free spinning starter you've lost compression. Sounds like the belt A. Gave out or jumped teeth, check the timing and do compression test. B. Turbo glow if you weren't beating the living sh** out of it, and even if you weren't means retard lean air...
Looks like a maf translator and if so I'm guessing it has a gm blow through maf of sorts. Google dsm maf translator tuning and that should help. If you have dsmlink on your car then it need to be set for stock. If its being used to compensate for larger injectors then google it. I'd recomend...
Yes. It needs to before th gm in a blow through unles you have the tial that can be recirculated. When it blows off it will be releasing metered air to the atmosphere. Plus if its before it wont cause a vacuum issue, but you will still need to boost leak test fom the turbo foward.
I have a 93 tsi I daily drove for 10 years 320 hp minimal upgrades no problems. All I had was 720cc injectors, 2g maf, stock 14b @ 24psi (before I get blasted 14b wont last at 24psi I replaced it about every 3 months from over boosting, at $50 a pop used i didnt care, but a 16g or big 16g will...
I have istalled a MSD dis2 on my car and can't get idle. Fires up and I can keep it running with steady rpm but will not idle. Question is in the instructions our cars are listed as needing an ignition adapter and before I spend $100 on one I was wondering if the link guys running msd wired in...
Reason for the recuirc wastegate is I have had open dump and I'm old and its too loud. I like the quiet sleeper cant tell if I just sand bagged you. :)
As long as your 2g has been already prep'd for a 6 bolt a 1g 7bolt is a direct drop. I swapped a 6bolt into my 93 7bolt back when I lost a timing belt on it and didn't have to do anything. They dont have a crank sensor you dont have to rewire the cas and the spark plug firing is the same.
Cam dowels located near center of sprockets should be top. Marks on gear edge should form straight line through center of gears here a pic. Dont pay attention to the crank mark on my pic. It looks off but i know the crank is TDC on your crank it should be lined 90° to the right forming an L with...
Had a friend do that with his manifold definatly dropped the intake temps but every time we pulled the manifold we had to retune because of the runner length difference. Made it a pain to get consistent results. Not to mention when you pop your IM off from boost pressure.
Its an ignition kill. Theres a card you slide in it and it allows you to start it. Used to remove them all the time when i would recondition auction cars for a dealership i worked for. Guessing it has 5 or 6 wires coming out of the back of it but only 2 are used one to one side of the starter...
Had to do the sniffer in texas. By getting the cat hot (aka drive it hard) it help raise the flash temp of the cat burning off more nox and hydrocarbons the bad emissions gasses. New oil will help your engine burn cleaner from the lack of contaminate in the oil being recirculated through your...
Most Fords are actually designed and engineered to run 5/20 (x ford master tech here) check your owners manual. DSM however seem to like the 10(20)/30(40).
Installed oil cooler, wrapped up the wire tuck, finished wiring alternator relocation, installed ss braided clutch line, and started completing the under hood portion of the fuel system.
The one piece is the best it completely replaces the oem. The 2 piece is an insert that fills in the gaps on an oem. Guessing yours has completely split like all the rest so I'd go 1 piece. Install 1 piece with a press if you dont have access to a press you can make one with 2 washers a bolt and...
When was the last time a super trooper jacked up your car lowered your t-case and exhaust to look at your oil pan. The crank sensor and map sensor also give it away along with the location of the coil packs but who other than a dsmer would know that....
According to most states emissions laws swapping a 6 bolt in for a 7 bolt is illegal. According law you are not allowed to swap a newer motor out with an older year model motor. Motor has to be same year or newer to be emissions compliant. Good thing they cant tell the difference between them...
Spend 40 a month on small storage unit to clean out and store all the stuff you dont need in your garage to gain side access. That what I did only it was to clean out the 10x20 my car is in to put it back together. Like others said where there a will there is a way.
Small word of advise. Seafoam is great in small doses use it too much and it will dry out you seals mainly injector and intake. It will also damage your rings with prolonged use.
Are you still using the MAF or are you SD? If your maf make sure you havent clamped your maf too low i did that once on accident and the same thing happened. Its in your air flow tune somewhere. Your engine is seeing more air from the cams and if you haven't tuned for it thats what will happen.
Same thing happened to me when I did my swap make sure the throttle cables are in right in the box. Also check your fuses and grounds. Unplug the connectors and make sure no loose wires or pins in the connectors and put a little dielectric grease in there before reconnecting. When rebuilt my...
Not entirely sure on the big deal about the recirc/unrecirc is. I ran a crushed 1g stock bov for the better part of a decade un-recirculated no issues. However I also had no boost leaks and my bov held with no leaks to 35lbs of boost. The only time your blowing unmeasured air is when its open...
