Dont forget your timing belt, tensioner, bs belts, idler pulleys and im pretty sure with the age of the vehicle the front case seals are leaking. Dont forget the water pump and maybe some cam seals.
Red loctite is used only if you never want to take it apart again. Lol, your actually suppose to heat it up to remove whatever you used ir on. And you need to tighten the pressure plate bolts more than finger tight. You need the fingers to force themselves against the clutch disk. And they need...
Ive searched google and have found only one site that gives a pn# for evo 6 piston rings and they were for a .20 piston. Im trying to figure out if I could use 2g rings with these pistons. I hate to purchase new pistons because they are oem brand new pistons. If anyone could point me in the...
Yes worn rings will affect your engine vaccum. The vaccum is read at the manifold by the map sensor. If you have worn rings, you will have lower compression. Compression affects vaccum. Vaccum is a good way to find out different problems in a motor.
Call around to local junkyards, keep a eye on the classifieds on here they tend to go pretty quick. I recently traded my 5 spoke chrome gst wheels for a rebuilt one that spun a bs bearing. You just need to keep a eye out for them, they really are starting to become harder and harder to find...
Just get a used short block and call it a day. That way you will have a spare block as well. You could easily be looking at half of your 700 just in labor alone. Than theirs the cleaning of your block, polishing or turning your crank, new rod and main bearings, and a new rod. As for the oil...
If your pushing that much coolant I would assume your hg is blown. Just di a leak down test to make sure. With coolant temps that hi are you sure your fans are opperating? Im suprised your car just didn't shut off.
Low or old transmission fluid can cause harsh shifts or slipping. You would have to be real low for it not to.shift at all. As far as your batter being bad yes it could cause transmission problems. Batterys cause wierd things to happen once they start dieing. Any check engine lights? Could be...
It sounds like.your headgasket isn't sealing but if you Dont have the means of being for sure i would just take it to a shop and have them pressure test it. You could also try bleeding your cooling system....wouldnt hurt.
A easier way.would be to.sign the mark up and if the balance shaft drops your good. Just bring the pulley back to time the way it dropped. Does that make since lol.
Just read through the whole thread and it looks like your doing a awesome job getting everything back together. I just wanted to ask if you put a machinists straight edge on the deck and head to make sure no machining was needed? It would be a hell of.a heart break to get it running just to.find...
I was just windering who else has done this job before lol. I have done about 4 so far and a few 3.1 L and have got it down to 4 1/2 hours. Thats with the cooling system full with no leaks. Is that bad.
Run a leak down test its the only real way to find out. Pull your intake off and crack the tb and if you here hissing ita the valve stem seals. But putting 2&2 together it prob ia your rings not sealing due to a bad hone, improper ring gap, or badly worn pistons. Did you properly break in the rings?
Low idle will make your idle rise not fall. Boost leak is a good idea but like stated...clean your throttle body with brake clean or equivalent. And clean the iac. Let the tb and iac dry good before you reinstall it.
Shocks are far from cheap for what they are. The cheapest ive seen is like 30 dollars for 1. So 60 bucks for shocks imo is kind of ridiculous..... Old vice grips, are just put a slight bend in one lol. Thats what i did with my 94 explorer 2 years ago. Still holding lol.
Agree with this 100%. The defination should be as follows...Daily Driver " a car that is driven on a every day basis that gets you from point A to point B regardless of modifications done". DONE.
The 7.3 powerstroke has a huge exhaust housing and will not be a direct bolt on turbo. The other two turbos are ebay crap. Look for a t28 thats reasonably priced are a 14b off of a 1g 5 spped car. The 14b will npt be a direct bolt on you will need to do some fab work are order a install kit. The...
Stock fuel pressure regulator with a A1000 fuel pump, and you mentioned earlier you have turned up your fuel pressure? Sounds like your over running the fpr and the ecu is cutting fuel.
This all startef today when I contacted a local dsm shop. I just asked where they had their machine work done and we started talking about different setups. O told him I was going to be running a basic 2g head with cams and springs, nothing special. The fieat thing he said was if i wantes to...
Yea i see what your talking about. But it only.seems to be that way at the one end and not the other. Doea anyone know why the oil ring size was reduced and the ring land size was increased? They both seem to be made of the same material. And the.evo.6 piston is kind of light. I purchased the...
Just bored and thought I would ahow the comparison between the two pistons. There are a few differences that are pretty noticeable, the most being the secound ringland on the evo 8 is quite a bit thicker. The evo8 piston ia the used one on the rod. You can also notice the piston on the...
Have you put vaccum on the egr to see if your not leaking past the diaphram? Normally that would throw a p0401, 402, or 403 egr insufficient flow but you never know.
Why did you delete your egr? Your fuel trims are going to be all out of wack. Thats a good way to f up a catylitic converter. You should still have the cel looked at, id bet that thetea more than one code stored.
I apologize for the multiple posts. Something is going on with my taptalk app. I was just wondering if anybody could recognize the manurfacturer. I believe the pulleys are gnb like already stated.
