Make sure whoever dyno tunes know DSM's and ECMlink. The good known remote tuners will tune your car better then almost all dyno tuners out there.ECMlink is kinda a niche thing, best left to the tried and true DSMers out there.
I realized I had the wrong stoich setting for e85, but that did not seem to help it start at all. I can include the new no start log, but doubt it will be of any help.
Okay so this is a bit of a situation. Im getting my 1997 up and running after its been sitting for 10-11 years. Today I finally got it buttoned up enough to try and start. I completely redid the fuel system, including new feed 8an and 6an return lines. New Wally 450 pump with rewire, new fuelab...
Unless your getting rid of the stock return hardlines I don't see a point. I went with the evo siphone because I went with AN fittings on my sending unit.As said above, it goes directly to a hose instead of oringed to hardline. I drilled my evo siphone to 1/8 as well, but it was very close to...
Up forsale is a BNIB fuelab 828 fuel filter with extras. It comes with:
Both 8an and 6an end caps
10 micron paper fuel filter element installed
Comes with stainless steel 40 micron filter130$ shipped
I know they are ORB, not sure what size though. If Im willing to bet, id say a 10an ORB. My FIC rail has 8an feed and 6an return and they both seemed to be the same size on the rail.
0 miles on a rebuild. It has a polished compressor cover, but I can swap it out for the original if buyer wants. Has a ported housing with the typical cracking around wastegate hole.350$ shipped
Up for sale is a good used 3inch GM maf with a 2g ecmlink plug and play adapter harness. I don't believe they make this harness anymore.Looking for 75$ shipped
Are there any other direct mount fpr options out there? I seem to recall an old school adjustable fpr that mounted directly to a dsm fuel rail.I like Justin's setup, just not the route I'd like to take.
In my opinion, tuning should be one of the first things you should consider. ECMlink, or with your car being a 99, ECUflash is an option. There are tuners out there that can remote tune your car for you. After upgrading turbos and all the other supporting mods, its important to tune for the...
I got a little bit done this super bowl Sunday. I replaced both of the drip rails with some good used ones. Way better then the completely shot ones that were on it. Old vs new.I also picked up a new set of rims and tires. The car looks sooo much better in my opinion. They are 17x8.5 Motegi...
I was just curious. I recently got one of the 5000tl quick jack lifts, and im having a hell of a time with all the hose fittings leaking. I used the supplied thread sealant, and tightened the shit out of them and they all seep a little. I guess Ill just take it all back apart and use some good...
Im sorry man, this is such a great build. I just finished it from the beginning, and was really hoping for a happy ending.Has the builder said anything? I dont think id trust them, but they are definitely on the hook for something.
The last week I continued the maintaince and did a couple little upgrades while It's been so nice. The Tcase output shaft seal appeared to be leaking, so while it was out I did both of the seals and some Redline heavy shockproof. The oil looked terrible, so I'll probably change the oil again...
Your car does sound amazing. Buy yeah no way around it, turbo whistle will go away with a resonator or muffler.I prefer a deep throaty exhaust like a thermal r&d. I heard a clip of STM's cat back and it sounded really good too. I just installed a full 3 inch exhaust with a Thermal cat back...
I just did all my fluids, and I ordered a suction/transfer pump. It worked great, even with the thick redline heavy shockproof. Here's a picture of one similar to what I used.
Just like to bump this thread! Thank you JS4g63 for all your work.I never knew how rare these were. Im glad I kept my 97 after all these years, and super glad I was able to pick up a 98 that was in amazing shape as well.
I was going to ask something similar. I just recieved my new used ecmlink and was wondering if initial start up/settings would be different then a brand new setup. Is someone else's previous tune still saved on this ecu?
Real sorry to bring up an old thread here... but I read somewhere there is no modification for putting in EDM tails in a talon?Talon vs eclipse taillight wiring is different correct? Is it the same process to swap Talon to Eclipse lights and vis versa?
Yeah I contacted that guy already, and it sounds like its a package deal only. I already have 2 hx35's, I really dont need a 3rd LOL Really just want the housing, but they are hard to come by these days.Id be curious how that green works for you. I have an oddball turbo from FP from years...
Its good to have you back. Im back as well from about a 10 year break too.I will say if you have E85 accessible to you, you NEED to go that route. Its the single biggest upgrade you can do in my opinion. With the FP green, you should have no problem hitting 450whp with E85. Are you on a stock...
Yeah fabricating is almost a need to know now for these cars.My brother is a welder, so I know he could help me. He is actually about to leave his tig welder at my shop, so maybe I'll try and get a little practice in. It just sad to see the aftermarket for our cars dying. It's nearly...
If you want turbo sound so bad you need to get a turbo with a t51R mod on the compressor cover. You'll need more turbo then a 16g for that unfortunately.
Gotcha makes sense. I was only seeing 1g stuff, so I was getting worried for a second.I sent ECMlink an email anyways to confirm. I got a pretty good deal, so I was worried it was too good to be true.
It would be really sweet to have a write up on this. From what I understand you just have to hog out the inside of the shift paddle assembly to fit over our clock spring. You need longer bolts/screws as well. Obviously need to trim the plastic column pieces and wire it in. When ever I get...
I have the side strakes, I just need the clips that hold them to the body. They look very similar to the clips on my 2ga twisty side skirts. And a google search only comes up with side skirt clips, nothing to do with side strakes.
Does anyone know if the clips that hold the strakes onto the door on my 2gb talons use the same clips as sideskirts? Both of my talons have loose side strakes and need new clips. Search only comes up with sideskirt info. Thanks!
There was a guy commenting saying he should have asked more for the car... I was like shush don't tell him that! I had to be quick, and luckily he worked with me since I was 6 hours away. If I didn't get someone else was 5 mins behind me.It seemed like too good of a deal, but so far I'm...
You guys arnt suppose to be the voice of reason! The more and more I think about it, Im wanting to mod this car less and less. You are right, I should just get the old girl going if I want to feel real boost. The car is just too damn slow right now though. It really needs just a few tasteful...
Is there 2 pieces to it? I can only get one, the other one is either missing or stuck behind somewhere. Yes please show some pictures that would be great! It's an all grey/black interior.
So here is currently the things I'm going to address first.Oil in trans/tcase/rear diff
replace battery with the correct size
Change out damaged tail lights
Replace the drip moldings
Change the rims
Replace passenger door handle
Find replacement interior parts that are missing/broken
Figure...
After getting my hands on her and doing some maintenance, I was more and more pleased with my purchase. This car needs a handfull of little things, but it is the cleanest dsm I have personally ever seen. It appears to be taken care of very well. For now, Im going to be doing all the pre-...
Well guys Im back! Its been at least a 10 year hiatus, and a lot has changed. I moved states, got married, and had a kid. I have owned the talon in my avatar the entire time, and it hurts to say but it hasnt ran in at least 10 years as well. Maybe the DSM bug has bit me hard enough to get that...
