Alright thanks alot guys. i have it idling at about 1300 hot now (higher than i would like but owell) and she idles at about 650 in gear with my foot on the brake.ill do a little more fine tuning and let you know

i have a 92 talon TSi Automatic. i picked it up with a snapped timing belt and rebuilt the head with stainless steel valves. i had the head resurfaced but didnt get the valves matched, it runs nice with no problems.But I cant seem to maintain a steady idle. i can mess with the throttle...

Check your rear diff, and fill it with 75-w90 should lessen the clunk, may not completely fix it though.

actually the compression is fine, it runs and idles fairly well, it will just take some breaking in of the valves before it runs perfect.

the job is all done, i had the head resurfaced but besides that all of the labour was done by myself an a friend, i didnt get the valves machine seated so ill just take it easy on it until they break in. anyone interested in pics of the build?

Well its taken longer than expected but staill havent hit any problems, head is in the shop but hopefully out soon, then shes goin back on!

okay so i have new valves/seals, headgasket, and timing belt.will i loose all my coolant from taking off the head, or any oil?im planning on doing the job tomorrow, what other supplies will i need?

how cold is cold in the morning? i live in canada and mine only idles slightly higher in the morning.change your thermostat, change your coolant then tell me what you find.

a sensor covered with wax..... really?i really doubt that but it could be.

if it isnt causing problems...Leave it alone.it may be your ics, (idle control sensor)

The timing belt was snapped in my 92 eagle talon tsi, its an automatic, and im hoping this saved me as the car seemed to just shut off when it snapped.I was gonna just slap on a timing belt and hope for the best, but now im rethinking this, with a $1000 budget, would it be worth it to pull...

well ebay would take longer then the dealership, i need these bolts today and edmonton nut and bolt delivers.the length is 25 mm, anyone know the diameter, and the thread size? what about that space before the thread?

So i cannot for the life of me find valve cover bolts. does anyone know the dimensions of the 25mm bolts (outside 8) part number MD129023.im trying to call edmonton nut and bolt to get some.

well basically i'll get a leakdown test done, and get the timing done either way. it would be nice to get it running, even if its not running the best (i know, bad news) but when the belt snaped you think you would have heard stuff being hit, it was more like it just shut right off..And...
