Crankwalk is excessive end play on the crank. One of the first symptoms of it is the clutch pedal sticking on the floor when it is released. The worst things that come from crankwalk is that the crank moves so far forward that it breaks the crank sensor off, the other one is that it binds the...
This is more of what I am thinking. Check for hole in back of block.I don't think a headgasket is just going to blow and make your car shut off. Does it sound funny when trying to crank it?
You are going to loose all your tension when you pull the belt off. I would flip the plate then follow the timing belt instructions again making sure you set the tensioner right.
Mine is a 7 bolt too. You can flip it over and set the marks back up right. If you are that scared of bending the valves put a wrench on the front and turn the motor over a few times by hand before trying to crank it.
You can still put the trigger plate on backwards and the keyway will still line up. The car will crank, but run like shit and the throttle will not respond right. I know I have done it. I believe the lip bevels out away from the belt. Try turning the plate around if you are not 100% sure.
Oh I see what happened there. You should have just started another thread to avoid confusion. Are they bolts or studs?Torque to 37ft/lbs when you get the rod fixed. Do you have all the other torque specs?I think they put the rod in the vise so it is easier for you to see their...
Fail.I don't understand what you are trying to do with a vise? So do you have the rods in the block and are torquing them on the crank. I have mine to 37ft/lbs.Do you have Eagle Rods?
I think he was being sarcastic a little bit. If you had a bad coil, plug, or wires it would throw a CEL. The electrical current pulses with the rotation of the motor it is not steady!
Is it still going into the overflow? Check to make sure the neck of the radiator isn't warped and the cap is not sealing correctly. Get radiator pressure tester to check.
If its been rebuilt already with that many miles I wouldn't worry about it. To check though have someone crank it up and push the clutch in and out why you watch the harmonic balancer for any back and forth movement. Also make sure when you let off the clutch the pedal doesn't stick any that is...
Mine spun a bearing 2 days after I bought it also. Take your time doing a lot of research before you splurge on parts. You may have to have the block line honed if the crank has walked to much. Pay close attention to that. You will also need a new crank and the rods resized. Make sure you do a...
It will start with oil in the cylinders. So either the rings are worn down, or they are stuck all the way in the piston grooves. I think I am going to get it to start and dump some seafoam in it. If that doesn't bring the compression up, I will just pull the motor back out. It is not too hard to...
Wasn't run hard at all, had almost 3000 miles on rebuilt engine before this started happening. The only thing I suspect right now is machine shop didn't measure the ring end gap correctly. It never ran hot and the thermostat is new along with the water pump.
This is not DSM related but would like some opinions. Me and my dad are arguing over a problem we have and would like a third party for clarification. The car in question is a 1991 Mazda B2200. When the car was first bought it white smoked like a fog machine so my dad pulled the motor and...
How many miles do you have on it. I rebuilt mine at 178000 and the rear BS bearing was about to fall out of the block just like this. Do you have the motor out? I don't think you can get the front BS out without dropping the motor down a little, and then you have to offset the bearings for that one.
rods 45-48ftlbs
mains 55-65ftlbsIf you have arp studs, i believe the specs come with them or you can look them up on their website. Also make sure you eliminate the balance shafts while you're in there.
I guess until it leaves you on the side of the road. Pull the intake hose going into the TB off and see if it is full of oil, then you know it's the turbo.
I don't know if I would drive it until I found out if it really was low oil pressure. Maybe connect a manual gauge to the oil filter housing to check or run thicker oil. You may have a bigger problem on your hands than just the gauge.
