    Cracked JMF topmount

Looking at the 3rd pic it looks like it wasn't backpurged when they welded it. Doesn't look like there's any penetration on that at all. It happens though, you could just be the 1%; its always someone. But if they're willing to reweld for free and stand behind their product then that's a good...

    pensacola?

I'll be in Pensacola from April to October next year and I'll be looking to buy a DSM while out there. What shops are out there? I'm probably going to have it built for me since I'll be too busy with Navy A school to work on it myself.

    Turbo and Injector pairing

Yes the 50 trim is bigger than the 16g, and it also spools slower. Honestly if I were you, I would get the 16g and check out the Evo classifieds at evolutionm.net. You've guys guys selling their fuel pumps(180 lph) with injectors(560cc) for around 100 bucks together. That's sufficient to get you...

    NPR piston?

I personally use the NPR pistons. I've had them in the engine for over 12,000 miles now. Mind you I'm only making maybe 300hp at the crank, but I feel like they've held up as they've should.

    oil leaking in timing

For me its been the front balance shaft seal. Its a seal right behind the balance shaft sprocket. You'll have to take off the timing belt and balance shaft belt, then remove the 12mm bolt that holds the balance shaft sprocket on to get to it. Hope this helps!

Mitsubishi Owners Day 2012 Cypress CA

I'm going to have to agree with Gofer on this one. I went last year with my gf and we were sadly disappointed. Although it was cool to see everyone there and some nice cars, I wouldn't make the drive again JUST to go to MOD. Definitely not worth the time. If I had family that lived down there...

how hard is it to change out rod bearings?

Just take off the rod caps, put some rubber hose on the rod bolts so as not to scratch the crank, and then tap each rod/piston up to remove the top bearing. Pretty easy. But I have to ask, why are you replacing the rod bearings? If you spun a bearing or have rod knock, most likely your crank is...

    Cracked Block Near Transmission

Find a good welder and get the block welded/brazed. If he's good enough, the block should hold for a while. If he isn't, it'll crack again. So make sure he knows what hes doing!

    2G whats a deep/best sounding exhaust system?

I'd say go with a Magnaflow or Flowmaster muffler. They have a really deep tone on the 4g63. There's a member on here with I believe a magnaflow with single 3'' in, double 2.5'' out and it sounds amazing.

2GB Front Bumper - Is this any good ?

I haven't purchased from that seller specifically, but I have an Ebay front bumper on my 98 and I haven't had any problems with it. My bumper doesn't have the indention either and I like it like that. There aren't any fitment problems with mine so I wouldn't imagine there would be any with the...

    ECUflash EVOScan issues

I'm having problems with 2.9. Wont let me log at all. I kept getting the error message "Please select a DTC Method/ECU first. Most vehicles support more than one method". So I uninstalled and went back to 2.8 and everything is fine now.

Can't Get Balance Shaft Sprocket Off

Oh ya I've got that on the shaft. I'm thinking maybe it got out of round when the balance shaft sprocket got messed up. I might just pull the engine so I can get a new front cover and delete the balance shafts. Didn't really want to do that but I might not have a choice.

Can't Get Balance Shaft Sprocket Off

Well I got the new seal and sprocket back on, but the balance shaft seal is still leaking. I pushed it in all the way with a socket so it would seat fully, and I even lubed the inside of the seal so it would slide on the shaft easily. But its still leaking from the inside where it seats to the...

Spyder 4g64 SOHC Timing Belt kit?

    Question , crank and pulley

There's 4 12mm bolts that hold the pulley onto the crank sprocket. You might want to try to tighten those before you drive the car again. Also, it would be a good idea to get a new belt since the one that keeps falling off is probably stretched out.

Can't Get Balance Shaft Sprocket Off

Can't Get Balance Shaft Sprocket Off

Well I got an air ratchet today from Harbor Freight for 25 bucks, and I managed to get the bolt off! Luckily the balance shaft itself wasn't damaged or scored so I really lucked out. Unfortunately, the sprocket is no good since it rounded out the small flat key/notch spot. So I'm going to need...

Can't Get Balance Shaft Sprocket Off

Why do you think the balance shaft would be damaged? The shaft isn't seized because I can use a 12mm wrench on the bolt to turn the whole shaft; it's just the bolt itself wont come loose.

Can't Get Balance Shaft Sprocket Off

Can't Get Balance Shaft Sprocket Off

What I mean by "notch" is this:The sprocket has a flat spot just like that so it can spin the shaft instead of spinning around it. Well sprocket isn't catching on that so I can't remove the bolt holding the sprocket onto the shaft.

Can't Get Balance Shaft Sprocket Off

Ok so today I noticed that my car was leaking a lot of oil from the timing belt side of the engine, so I decided to put the car up on jacks, take the timing cover, timing belt, and balance shaft belt off to find where the leak is. I'm actually pretty sure that my leak is coming from the seal...

OP, yes there are two types of grey for certain. I know that there was a blue-ish grey for the dash because I went to the junkyard and saw the dash myself. It's almost a baby blue mixed with grey. As far as I know, only the base models and the RS came with those colors.

    rebuild install timing problems

It really does sound like you found a bad mechanic. People are corruptible and will take shortcuts to make a buck. That's why I chose to learn about my car and work on it myself. If your timing belt walked off the gears, then most likely your valves have been smashed. Now, about the timing...
