I have a pgp dogbox. It drives just like a stock transmission would, really not any differences besides lighting fast shifts. only thing is can you bare the noise?
Tuners recommend lower rpm because they don't want to feel responsible for something going wrong. The motor isn't going to last forever. A good example is; the more meth you smoke the shorter you will live, but the more fun you'll have.My 2.3 revs a lot quicker then a 2.0 but it's just the...
I really like the aem 320lph pumps. They are super quiet, and work well. My system is full blown assembly, I have 255walbro for cruising, and a secondary 320lph aem pump for doing wot pulls.
I don't recommend full blown assembly, as they are a pain to use. Best to just modify the stock assembly.
I have a 2.3 and i absolutely love it. I really feel the torque and the quicker rev.
Is yours a 6 bolt or 7?
So your main concern is reliablity? Ive only seen bad reviews of the eagle cranks that are out of spec.
I used a 100mm oem crank out of a 4g64. eagle rods, wiesco pistons. put down 430hp...
I put solid bushings in my front subframe and i only have good things to say about it. no added vibrations that i can feel. I also added a lot of welding because oem welds sucks so bad! It made my car able to out corner my evo and that says a lot.
Id 100% get one.I talked to Andrew Brilliant via email in the summer. He said he was working on a kit for the 2g. Andrew is working with carbonation with the v2.
Our trannies only shift in a H pattern. You'd need some external box mechanism to make it shift "sequentially". So if your shifter is sequential doesnt make the tranny sequential. That is what i was trying to say.
welded diff and 4 spider diff are total different options.
I had a dsm with a welded center diff. Driving on one sucks!
Welded diff is only an option for drag racing.
Never an option for time attack, autocross ect..
I understand the custom "being different" thing. i total support it. but imo less is more! imo its trying to make the car look like something its not.
But if you have all the supporting luxuries, then thats dope!
The knocking could be some thing else like balance shafts, lose cam gear, ect...
If it is rod knock did you replace oil pump?
What brand are the parts? The cheap Chinese parts there is no faith in those.
And you say your not tuned so that already a bad idea. You will have better luck getting...
Sequential is the shifter. its nothing to do with inside the transmission.I will probably eventually get one of these shifters because normal shifting a dogbox is not that much fun, sequential would just be funner.
What I did was, get as much rubber out as possible, and cut the outter ring in two spots with a reciprocating saw. Then the ring will fold and you can take it out.
I bought mine from Summit Racing a year ago. They had the best price, i think it was just under $400 but i cant find the item anymore. sad to see these parts discontinue.
All radiators are about the same. It's really depends on cfm when it comes to cooling efficiency. You need 1300-1600cfm on 4 cylinders according to summit racing. I have an eBay civic radiator with a derale 1600cfm fan. 85* days and no issues.
Here is the test its on an evo 8 so assuming some of the info does translate to our cars. To bad the dyno pics don't work. I saw them before they disappeared.

Everyone thinks kelford cams are the best. Someone did a dyno run on all the cams. Brian crower being the worst. Kelford a did dyno the highest hp but a lot of low end suffered. Hks 272/272 did the best overall with spool time, best low to mid range power. And they are very steetable cams.
I have the Megan upper control arms, but not installed yet.But Paul volk says he will be making adjustable upper control arms soon. I'm sure it will be the best upper arms ever available for the 2g.
You maybe getting spark blow out. Usually high boost aplications cause this. Evos are gapped at .020"which is crazy tight. Gapping plugs tighter can fix this.
I'm using a ACT twin disk. I destroyed the first disk because I didn't know.
I can't use an Evo twin disk because it's 7 bolt.Wonder if I get 23 spline disks if that will fix everything? I can't find disks for ACT https://www.extremepsi.com/store/product.php?productid=28641&cat=1138&page=1
I spent 2 stupid hours trying to put this transmission in. I found out it has a 23 spline input shaft! The original one is 20 spline. I can't find anything anywhere on people doing this? Think this was a mistake?
Here is the old 20 spline
Then the new bigger 23spline
Wtf?
The bolt holes should probably be ported so the mount can be pushed back. Then everything should be bolted in loosely. then once all the bolts are in, tighten everything down. i think it will work.i dont even have that mount installed on mine and i do just fine lol
I dont think avid had the front available when i bought mine. What you should do is, unbolt the crossmember. Put the main motor mount bolt in first. Then bolt everything down.
Well stiffer bushings are not any harder lining up. Its the skill level of the person installing them. No hassle, no complaints. i didnt even notice anymore vibrations. it makes my car launch a lot harder, and made shifting amazing. I also notice a handling benefit. No engine hop, and realized...
I swear there is at least one post a week on this subject. Im assuming Forza has everyone wanting and wishing.
The only engine you should go for is the evo 9 engine for the MIVEC
But if your racing and keeping it in high rpm then it wouldn't make a difference.
the cost and work to put into it...
Here is a good write up
http://www.dsmtuners.com/threads/speed-density-conversion-16g-before-and-after-pump-gas.368511/You get better spool up, and turbo spool up sound.
