Yea I would coat the outside with a high temp paint or something, I'm sure home depot carries something in that field. As for the inside i wouldn't worry about that oxidizing at all, the carbon build up will take care of that.
I have used VHT Nightshade and I have found that if you purchase the vinyl smoke wrap and apply it witha heat gun and follow the proper procedure it comes out much better.
Honestly if your car is ABS and you have tested the system and it is working. These boxes are casted identical no matter what gsx it's going in. If your car seems to be working and the ABS is engaging and the car is running normally I would take no serious concern to the issue. It may just be a...
I had this exact same problem. I was told it was the IAC sensor, after I replaced it, it still did it. I would make sure the idle motor didn't go bad and make sure your getting the correct voltage to every pin. You could even also make sure your throttle cable isn't too short.
After you remove the center console you will have to remove the 2 shifter cables on the actual shifter assembly. Then there will be a nut I believe its a 17, as soon as you remove that the shifter should slide off and then you can put on your new shifter.
It could be various things. I would definitely start by checking your O2 sensor location. Many manufactures state optimal 02 sensor location is approximately 6" from the turbo, the further you go the more inaccurate. However if your just reading 14.7 the entire time you should check if there is...
i would replace everything at once so its less of a hassle in the long run.. you don't want it to happen again.. i would replace the water pump tensioner and if you do end up getting a used head you may want to consider getting it resurfaced and purchasing a name brand head gasket..
make sure your throttle cable isn't too short and causing it to open a little making it idle higher then it should.. i had the same problem and could never figure it out. i just learned to deal with it
i would remove the fuel rail so you as much room as possible.. and if you can get your hands on a small little pick like a needle and pop the clip out it shouldn't break..
