I used WD40 but I usually only have to let them sit a month, tops. I also cover them in a garbage bag. You don't get the "oohh, ahh" effect of seeing the engine but they work and come with draw strings.

I made a solid aluminum plug for mine, and even then I covered it with RTV. If I'm not mistaken there's actually a strap clamp kit for the plugs.--Steve

If you do a leakdown test with the rad. cap off, and if it's a head gasket, you will see bubbles from the esacaping air. I dare say it is almost impossible for a turbo to leak water internally. If you installed it recently did you recycle your crush washers or use new ones?--Steve
