Just an update:
I pulled the fuel pump this morning (pic attached) and everything seems to be good. I went ahead and re-soldered the power wire. Reinstalled it and it is still the same.I welcome any and all suggestions. I am thinking that it is not a tuning issue, but a physical issue and I...
Hey guys,
Here is the short version of what happened and where I am. I installed my w/b and realized that I was running 13.5 afr at WOT at about 15 psi. Shortly after my stock fuel pump died. I replaced it with a walbro 255, installed a new feed line and return line and installed an Aeromotive...
Hey guys,
I did a lot of searching and everything I found pertained to 2gs.I just installed my MTX-L o2. Everything went fine, I wired the yellow wire to the ecu, (pin 4 - white wire) enabled the narrowband sim, selected the input for LC-1 Wideband, changed the W/B drop down to front o2, and...
If you are talking about what I used, I got it on Amazon:
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B005676KF6?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o04_s00
It seems to be working great so far. It is the same material as the HKS filters. I am waiting some feedback on my WOT logs on the ECMlink forum to so some more tuning before I turn the boost up.
I used a thin air filter that I got at Lowes and then put an HKS 70001-AK022 Green 200mm Super Mega Flow Replacement Filter Element that I got off amazon on top of it. Then I cut it to fit and clamped it on.
I made a harness using an old 1g maf plug. I soldered the 2g wires onto the terminals of the 1g plug. I have the plug here and it looks like the wires are soldered correctly.
Looks like you are talking about the harness side. I have a 1g maf plug that I broke off an old maf. I am trying to solder the wires from the 2g maf plug onto the 1g maf plug so it can be plug and play. I might go the cut, solder and heat shrink method.
I have a question for you guys that have done a 2g mas into a 1g. Did you get engine codes when you did it? I just checked in link and I had 2 codes, 13 (IAT manlfunction) and 25 (Bar pressure circuit malfuntcion). I assume these are from when I put the 2g mas into my car to see if my...
I hear ya bro. I have a small air filter coming on Thursday, that is my last ditch effort to get the 2g maf to fit, if that doesn't work, I might be looking at the SD route.
Thanks for the reply. Not sure about an SD setup, I do have ECMlink, but not sure I want to go down that road. Is it pretty in depth? This is my daily driver.
Please let me know what you figure out. I have a 91 gsx and am trying to fit a 2g maf in it and am having a hard time even with a fmic. I still don't have enough room. Where did you get the micro screen from?
I am really sorry to resurrect an old thread, but I was wondering what I needed to do to run a 2g maf in my 1g. I have the cable and have soldered the wires and it starts and idles but I have not driven it yet. I have ecm link, are there any settings I need to change? Thanks so much.
You might want to consider using paragraphs in your posts from now on... I know the MODs don't really like it.That said, it could be a lot of things that are causing this problem. I would start by fixing what you know is broken. Get a new alternator and install it. It is not that hard to...
I just got finished throwing away the Mishimoto fan shroud. What a waste of money. The two 10" fans that came with it are worthless. Together they could not pull enough air to cool my car down at idle. I installed just the stock rad fan and it cooled my car way better than the 2 10"...
Yes, I did make sure of that. Thanks for the suggestion. At this point, I think the timing is correct, but I am going to take it all apart to check it.
I am not sure I would start with changing the head gasket, although it couldn't hurt. I would try doing a leak down test. That should give you a better idea of where you are losing the compression. Also it might be a good idea to check your timing. I have done timing belts and been off by...
Maybe you jumped timing when you started and bent a few valves? Might be worth checking your timing so you can know what happened before pulling the head off.Sorry for your loss man, good luck.
I just lined up the cam gears and the #1 cylinder is at TDC. (based on my magnet in the cylinder) The oil pump sprocket does not matter since I have eliminated the balance shafts. So my timing should be correct based on my cam gears lining up and the #1 piston being at TDC, correct?
I will line them up today when I get home and take a look. I am pretty sure I lined up a tooth on the intake side and a groove on the exhaust side with the dowels straight up.I am not sure how far off, maybe a quarter of a turn. I did the belt and turned it over by hand many times, I even...
Sup guys,
I just gone done rebuilding my motor outside the car. I did the timing belt and followed the VFAQ procedures so I know it is right. I have a few questions:1. I installed Fidanza cam gears and I am not sure they are lined up correctly. It looks like they have marks, but the...
So it is power in one side of the switch and ground on the other. I guess when the temp gets hot enough the switch provides continuity which grounds the green/black wire to turn the fan on.Does that sound right?
So I know the connector is gone. How can I hard wire this to work? There are 2 connectors on the thermosensor, does anyone know how I can wire it to make it work?
So I went and looked and I can not find the thermosensor connector on my car. I am pretty sure I didn't cut it off. Can anyone tell me where it should be? I hope it was not connected to my fan (which I threw away). Thanks!
Thanks.I actually realized that I do not have the thermosensor installed. I threw it away with my old radiator.I will get a new sensor and I am sure that will fix it. Thanks!
I had some problems getting it to idle after my rebuild, but I found a huge vaccum leak at the TB and that seems to have fixed it pretty good, it still surges a little, but that is the least of my concerns right now. After I got it idling pretty good I took it around the block. I got back...
Thanks for the replies. I am going to use the "playdoh" method tonight. I have a paper HG that I am not going to use so I am going to put playdoh on my valve reliefs and turn the crank over a few times to check the clearance. I will post the results in case someone else is ever in my same...
