I have a 6 puck, I still have issues with it jumping around on me. However I have found it to be smoothest at about 1500 with some feathering. I am not sure if it is the best for the life of the clutch.

Did you have the head milled or anything to make sure you had a good surface? It usually cost about $30-40 to have it done, and its a good way to help ensure a clean seal
If you keep blowing the 100 amp fuse i would check the wire off of the alternator all the way back to your fuse its not a long wire and it is a simple check. I had the same problem and it turned out my alternator was causing a surge that was blowing them
