Hahaha ya got meI can't wait to see pics of the new build. Just don't rush things This time, sounds like you have a lot of coin wrapped up in this. Any plans on keeping a t case under the car with about 200 more hp than before?
That post was so g@y. Haha just kidding bud, but seriously in the time it took you to type that you could have finished your car.
On a serious note, keep us updated, you know I'm g@y for this stuff. Pics or it didn't happen.
A lot of changes since I last ran the car in the fall. Matt Cochran has been helping me get the car ready for the ECSO since last year. I swapped intake manifolds, turbo, went to T3, exhaust manifold, tires among many other smaller things. My new suspension should be here in a couple weeks...
I'm well aware. Like went 11.1 with a crap 1.8 sixty foot.
With my 130mph traps my car was good for practically mid tens with my race weight. I didn't have that many passes on my Bolt on hx35 before retiring it.
There was so much left for improvement on my bolt on hx35 set up, but after 2-3 years of running that i upgraded to a 58mm HX40 with a T3 bep housing. I have sold my old hx35 and bep housing so the title is up for grabs haha.
Tonight im test fitting a down pipe my buddy has been customizing to...
I'm less than 2 hours from Cecil Dragway so my awd laser and I will be there racing for sure. I really need to work on getting some DOT slicks so i can be in a class that fits my set up better. Pretty much a street car on a 58mm turbo, but with full slicks. I can't hang with the big boys in...
I don't have actual dyno numbers of my car, but I saw multiple 7 blade HX35s like mine dyno 450-500hp and I assumed that since mine was faster with lots of improvement available in driving, then mine should be fairly close.
I have run e85 and this year I'll be running C16 again.
Never dynoed on a good motor. Highest numbers I saw in the results thread were 504 awhp on a .55 a/r bolt on housing. I tell people I should somewhere in the high 400s to low 500s based on that.
Sounds like a blast in HAwaii!1G: that's the plan, but the T3 manifold I had waiting for the swap on the shelf for the last year or so ended up being for an evo, so now I'm shopping for a new manifold. Trouble is I need to sell some parts first.
Nope, quickest is my 11.18 but I have in officially retired the bolt on housing. Pulled the turbo off last weekend to swap over to T3. I have to find a different manifold now though. If things don't go as planned, I may have to out it back on and try to beat my own time this year.
"EVERY ENGINE..$300 EVERY TRANSMISSION $100 !!! EVERYTHING MUST GO!! "
So $100 for a 1G trans or no???$150 with xfer case is decent
$250 is getting up there
An hx40 is not out of the question, but I'm having plenty of fun on the hx35 still. Not sure if my set up can handle all that big power, but I'll be throwing some more power at it with the T3 hot parts on the hx35 sooner than later.
Thanks Adam, you were a big inspiration of me keeping at this...
Friday night was beautiful here in Maryland and i went to the local drags for test and tune. This was my second time racing on slicks and only managed one somewhat impressive 60' time in my opinion: 1.58 I had 3 new bests Friday including 11.21 & 11.24The run that i got my best 60' time of...
I skipped it last year cause the year before was kinda beat. If it weren't for all the tolls getting there, I'd say I'd race for it, but I'd like to come up and watch again.
If I remember correctly your crew was packing up at the track and was asking if anyone wanted the last burger. Chris did what any fat guy like us would do, nom nom nom.
BTW it's an early 2007 (last year for the 5.9 cummins)Nice man, I drive an Intenstional 4700 series rollback tow truck for work. It's a 2002 with 615,*** miles and I still running strong. Just a few hours ago I went down to Virginia to bring back a F250 utility body pick up that was loaded...
I used to tow my DSM on a 16' full deck non-enclosed trailer with a 2005 Tundra with a 4.7L v8. Once I installed a brake controller so I had working trailer brakes. It felt pretty safe. Around my area which is relatively flat, the truck handled it well. On big hills or mountains the V8 worked...
Tony you're racing at irev right?
I heard you and Ryan are planning on racin at irev. That is the same day as Chris' birthday, so maybe we should all pitch in and buy a head gasket for him so he can race too. Just busting your balls Chris lol
Welcome Colin. This thread gets pretty dead from time to time, but we are all still around working on our dsms and getting ready for the shoot out in Ohio and what not. Stay posted for a get together at the track.
I'm hoping to race at the second Irev event at MIR budds creek, I think its...
Ill be hitting a test and tune when ever I get my car running again. I have been trying to mount my slicks on my 15"s for a good week or two but work has picked up lately which is good for everything except for working on the Laser.
I have been too busy/procrastinated too much, so my car won't be running by then. So I offered to tow Adam's beast down there.
I think Bob will have his talon there too.
Congrats man! You have my old 14b time beat by over a second. And you just went quicker than I ever have with my big holset turbo. Shows that 60' times are everything. My next trip out will also be on m&h slicks, looking for a 10sec pass.
Keep it up man.
JSi is in Kingsville, MD which is north of Baltimore. Tony works there an he is a dsmer from here. That shop works on anything. South of baltimore in Columbia is LMT auto repair. That's the shop I tow out of. They also work on everything. If you need towing down to LMT call ALs Towing at 410...
where did you break down? Baltimores FT McKenry tunnel? Just saw this but I can tow it for you if need be.
Only experience I have with the 420A engine is I know the coils are junk and that's the one thing you said you left at home :(
