I'll make sure to check the voltages and see what we get. I personally haven't driven the car since it's still in the previous owners name. I'll ask my buddy and see if he notices any difference in power.
Hey everybody, it's been a while since I've been on here but my best friend scored himself a '95 TSI AWD, our new project, so I'll be around again!Anyways, He picked the car up for $1500, all it needed was a battery and IAC and she was up and running again. He was also given a PTE 6776RSP...
I have used both dsmlink and ecuflash and they are both great. I never had a problem with flashing my ecu. I still prefer link though since it is a little more user friendly and I think the logger is better than evo scan.
Its not so much what the block can handle. There is a member on here that put his car in the 9's on the stock block. If you plan on running more than the 20 psi you stated (and trust me, you will) those 750's are only going to take you so far. I personally would recommend 1000's or larger.
I wish I would have known about that. There was a beat 2G sitting on the side of 270 for almost a month with no plates on it. I drove past it everyday when I was working in Rockville and kept wondering if there was anything i could do to obtain it for a beater.
As others have said, the T28 is going to be a direct swap, the 16G will require an install kit, j-pipe, ect. I ran a dumped o2 on my GSX and I personally loved it. It really is a love it or hate it kind of thing. I have talked with numerous people who went to a a dumped housing and then switched...
As long as you keep the maintenance up to date, just like any other car, it will last you as long as you want it to. The 4.3's don't seem like they are quite as finicky as some other motors I have dealt with.
Thanks guys. So far she is holding up great. There are no weird noises or taps or anything and the motor is actually pretty clean looking for a 12 year old truck. It does need some spots of paint touched up and a dent removed from the front fender but that's just little stuff. I do plan on...
Well I finally ended up selling my Eclipse last week. I was in need of something that would handle all the driving that I do for work and the car just wasn't doing it for me. It left me stranded way too many times when it wasn't sitting in the shop trying to straighten out all the issues it had...
I'm actually picking up a 99 GMC Sonoma (same as the S-10) in the morning for a daily driver. It's got the 4.3 V6 which is a very very reliable motor as long as you keep up with maintenance. My father and I both do a ton of driving for work and he has an Astro van with the same motor, has over...
+1 on the suspension. Also go witsome bigger injectors, fuel pump, afpr, and some sort of tuning device. It really all depends on your horsepower goal and how much cash you have.
I'm in PA but I work all over MD. My company is based out of Glen Burnie and now they have me down in Gaithersburg. I finally got my car up and running yesterday and still need help with some small things. I'm also down to help any other DSMer or just meeting up to shoot the shit!
In my tiburon I was running 3 infinity kappa 10's in a ported box on a 1200 watt amp and it really hit hard but was still very clear. I don't listen to too much rap myself and these subs handled the double bass kicks and. 808's of Motionless In White and other hardcore without an issue.
If you want to go with a body kit that looks pretty sweet and is actually functional ask Andrew Brilliant to make you one of his kits, just be prepared to drop 5k on it.
You uys are all taking classes that give me a headache just trying to understand the class names, lol. I graduated 5 years ago with a degree in audio engineering and all my final consisted of was recording a band, mixing, editing, and burning the final to a disc.
Just install some remote door poppers and call it a day....okay, maybe not.I'd go ahead and give those metal handles a try.Just install some remote door poppers and call it a day....okay, maybe not.I'd go ahead and give those metal handles a try.
Thanks Brian, that was exactly the info I was looking for. As far ad the head being warped, its been to 4 different machine shops, milled flat each time. I will hopefully hear something back today from the shop and they are supposed to let me know when they get the head back and give me the...
Those motors are just sexy. If I had the money I'd buy one. The price is great considering Jasper wants $4500 for a remanufactured motor and Mitsubishi wants $2700 just for a short block.
Yea but I'm pretty sure the block is cracked causing me to keep blowing head gaskets. The deal for the 7 bolt just can't be beat but I don't know too much on the 1g's.
Okay, after doing some more research, I've found a few people say that the 1g 7 bolts have higher compression and aren't very much suited for running more than 20 psi. Can anyone verify this or correct me? I'm still awaiting my head to come back from the machine shop to make a decision if I want...
Okay so here's the deal. I've owned this car for the last 9 months and am on head gasket replacement number 4. The first time or two I could have contributed to poor install jobs but now this is just getting crazy. I'm really starting to believe that there is a crack in the block that the shops...
Did you do a BLT?Seriously though, Double check all of your hoses, clamps, make sure the drain plug on your radiator is tight and not leaking, look underneath and see if you can see where the oil may have come from. There may be a leak at the oil pan.
The only reason I still have aim on my laptop is because of the integration with Facebook. What the hell though, I'll throw my name out there: OhNoItsLockett
Ouch, that brought a tear to my eye. Also, my car has a busted front bumper and is half falling off but that doesn't mean I'm a dumb teenage driver. It just means my car sat too low to clear a driveway and it bit me lol.
Yea a friend had mentioned that it looked more like a catch can than an overflow. My catch can is what is mounted underneath my intake with the braided line going to the valve cover.
That is what my overflow looks like. As you can see, there is a 3rd line that I have no idea where it goes or its purpose. I was thinking that is the line to recirculate the coolant back into the motor but its too short to reach anywhere. Any help is appreciated and much needed!! Also sorry for...
From how you make it sound, it really wasn't anything you did to cause the fire. I know how you feel though about dsms. I bought another one and am replacing head gasket number 4 in the 8 months I've owned the car. Hopefully everything works out for ya though. If you didn't live in tx I'd help...
That's what I would do. They gave me 48 hours to get as much as I could from my car and my work schedule didn't allow me much time to get everything out. I ended up leaving gauges, the motor, tein coilovers, and all the black leather interior. Moral of the story, GRAB AS MUCH AS YOU CAN!! haha.
When I totaled my gsx my insurance didn't care about the aftermarket parts since I told them about the parts beforehand. They ended up cutting me a check for more than I paid for the car and let me take off all the parts. Granted your case is a little different than mine, I hope you get as lucky...
Everyone's car runs differently even if the mods are the same. I was able to run up to 21 psi on an evo 3 16g, 550's, walbro 255, tuning through an s-afc neo and had no issues. Your tune is going to be a big factor as well.
I think we all saw some fast and furious reference coming. Does the car jerk or shutter when you go wot? Maybe hitting fuel cut and knocking the connection loose?
