Nice build! I think the intercooler choice is fine for what your looking to make. Ive been 9.22 with a half ass pass in a 3100lb car with a similar intercooler. If your goals were north of 700whp then a ets unit would probably be a good idea.
This is retarded. For one a cop can pull you over even for the simple fact if they "think" your suspicious. Telling people you don't need a plate or license to drive on a public road is the dumbest thing I've ever heard.
It will probably make more power with milder cams on that housing. I used to have a bolt on hx40 with stock intake and bc 272's. It was trapping mid 130's. I switched to a smim and kelford 272's with more boost and it was a struggle to trap 130mph. Those cams will want to breath over 7krpm and...
Where do you get 350lb of torque? There are cars going well into the 1.3's and a few have done 1.2's... it takes a bit more than 350lb of torque to 60' those times... the stock front case argurement makes sense but at the same time there were plenty of converters from sinister that had the stock...
Every time I order from extremepsi shortly after I always end up with credit card fraud. This has happened to me three times now and it was brought up on another forum because other people were having the same issue. Sucks because I usually get most my shit from there.
Sorta... lol borrowed a two wheel dyno for tuning but everything went wrong on the dyno and the only real numbers we got it was on wastegate pressure 24psi. It made right around 500whp on a dynamics dyno. Fixed the issues the next day and street tuned it like we always do and everything went...
Mine are the "high lift" 284/280 kelfords. Last year I could foot brake my ipt 9" to 3500. It almost was enough to get over the hump but not quite enough. That was with kelford 272's.
Haven't really played with it to much but can only footbrake it to around 2k. I'm also pulling timing as soon as its floored so that instantly kills torque even more. Nitrous sprays sooner via tps then retards timing at full throttle. Kind of tricky to part throttle it so nitrous turns on but...
+1 on the bradco converter. Havent had a whole lot of testing on it but so far so good. Its definetly efficient as hell on the big end. Hard to determine how loose it is down low because my new cams killed torque down low. With a 67mm I'm leaving at 3400rpm on about 12psi. Still haven't had the...
How did those nord locks work for you? I had my bolts back off on the dyno yesterday. Luckily I caught it right away and did no damage. Probably just going to tack weld the bolts on.
None. I did try out two of his converters and the third one didn't even fit in the trans... I would go back to a restall before putting a sinister converter in my car.
You must be looking in the wrong place... everyone I have talked to including myself has nothing good to say about him. There has been a lot of high hp guys that has tried out sinister and pretty much everyone of them has went to something else.
If I were you I would just rock stock axles. Jesse abele I think was just on stock ones with a diff cover. I'm on stock ones and my 3100lb car has been 1.33 60'. You might break one every so often but imo its still better than paying a arm and a leg for something that will eventually still break.
Congrats on the times! That converter sounds like a no go imo. If its slipping that much you should atleast be able to footbrake up to 3k or more without nitrous. Sounds like its tight down low and loose up top. Complete opposite of what you want. I can footbrake my ipt 9" to 3500 with no...
Qtps are bias ply. I wouldn't count them as a radial. They are just a dot tire. Mike reichen went 9.3x on a regular street tire not even a drag radial.
Sucks to hear about the pump issue. I know its taken me sometimes 10 minutes to get the damn converter seated all the way. Next time you have it in all the way take note on where the ring gear on the converter is and where the splines start on the output shaft. If its all the way in I think...
Looks good. The easiest way I found to drop the trans and install it is to use a cherry picker and hook the chain on the hook that's right in the middle on top of the trans. It makes life so much easier!
You could have looked at your e.t. vs your trap speed and right away you should have known it wasn't a true 1/8. There is no way you could net that e.t. with that 60' and trap speed. Your 1/8 trap is going to have to be around 100mph if you want to see that kind of a 1/8 e.t. or a high ten...
The end tanks might be homemade. It's probably 10.5" tall and it's only a 3" core. Short route style intercooler. If you have anymore questions p.m. me so we don't clutter this thread.
He is referring to my car. I know that pass wouldn't have been a 8 second pass but for a 3100lb auto car on only 36psi with a converter thats probably only 15% efficient or less and a shit intercooler that gains 80-90 degrees on a full pass its making some decent power and I believe the...
I'm not saying bc's are better because clearly they arent but on that hx40 set up with a small housing isn't going to flow goodup top. Obviously the stock intake and my bcs 272s were more efficient on my hx40 with that small housing because those parts worked nicely together to make all the...
Unless you have everything perfect airflow readings won't be accurate. I remember logging 70lbs/min with my bolt on hx40 but there was no way in hell I was actually flowing that much air. If you plan on sticking with that housing my set up performed best on the stock intake and when I had bc...
Not sure if someone has went quicker/faster than me yet in the bolt on housing. Years ago I went 10.8x and trapped a best of 134mph. I made 470whp on a mustang the same day I went 10.99 @ 128mph.
Looks like its coming along nice! A ipt restall will handle any amount of power you throw at it. Making it work with a large turbo however is another issue as far as getting it out of the hole. I lucked out and found a ipt 9" and this converter definetly does its job but I may look into a bradco...
