Sounds like you figured it out. Making a template like that is usually the easiest way. Last time I did it I made a rubbing with some butcher paper and a crayon.
The reason that some have an angle is because they pass under the rear "axle". Anything that passes over the rear "axle" (FWD cars don't have a rear axle, but you know what I mean.) like the stock piping will look straight. Generally the reason for under axle style piping is because there isn't...
Wait, do they think the center section is supposed to light up? WTFOr are you talking about the center high brake light? Also do you have to take the car to an independant shop for the inspection or is it an actual government office? If it's an independant shop I would ask for proof on...
To burp the coolant, remove the coolant cap with the engine cold. Stick a funnel that just fits the smaller portion of the opening tightly and top up the coolant. Start the engine and run it up to operating temperature with the funnel still in place. It should bubble out any excess air in the...
You did mention that the coil was bad, have you replaced it yet?Another issue I'm noticing is that you said that you changed the radiator. Did you burp the coolant after filling the system? If you didn't burp the coolant there's probably an air bubble stuck in the Tstat housing that can...
This.First rule of selling things, if you have to ask if it's a scam, IT'S A F*CKING SCAM!My 83 year old senile grandmother could see through the bullsh!t that's piling up from the scammers.
^^^^^ OMGActually probably the dumbest thing I've done is run the car without the timing cover. It looks good, until your alternator belt shoots into the timing belt and bends every intake valve :ohdamn:
I've left the bag on my filter after cleaning the engine bay a few times. On my cars with distributors I ALWAYS forget to mark which plug wire goes where on the dizzy, which leads to half an hour of figuring out what goes where.
I probably won't do anything this year, but in previous years when my hair was longer I would let my beard grow out and I went out as Silent Bob.I do like the Stig idea too.
There should be a spigot on the side that you can drain it out of. Most homes also have a floor drain near the water heater. If it's leaking then its most likely that your tank has rusted out and the only thing you can do is replace the heater. This happened to me a few years back.
A piece of dynamat Xtreme between the body and where the pipe hits takes care of the rattle.Fresh exhaust hangers help a ton too. When I reused my factory hangers the whole assembly had almost 2 inches of play. After I swapped them out for new ones the exhaust wouldn't move more than 1/3 of...
You can't bend the hangers to change the angle that the muffler sits at. you'd have to bend the tubing differently and you don't want to do that. And yes. Get the GST exhaust, not a GSX. Things won't fit if you try to put the AWD exhaust on your car.
Respect yer elders. :pI did find out from a friend what to search. you have to look up pixel art. kinda annoying. Are those your works Lofty? got any more?
I've been trying to find good sprites of cars but Google image search is leaving me high and dry. If you don't know what I mean by sprite, I'm looking for pics that look like 8 or 16 bit video games.kinda like this. Please post up any that you've got. I'd really like to see some...
Sorry, but DO NOT DO THIS the baking soda can get in the vents of the batttery and kill a cell in the battery. If you must clean the terminals with baking soda, mix up a PASTE of baking soda with as little water as possible and use an old toothbrush to apply it and scrub the terminals with...
Yeah, It's a pretty big known failure point on the 2gnt. The zip tie gets brittle and breaks then the harness falls onto the hot pipe and melts stuff. not fun.Sounds like most of your issue is the coolant temp sensor though. I'd definitely start with changing that and clearing the CEL's. If...
Another thing to check is the harness that runs right beside the EGR tube. Tons of people have reported the harness being melted and shorting out there.
I'm gonna have to slightly disagree with you there. If you shift right at 6k you're gonna drop below the meat of the powerband in most gears. Go a little past, maybe even 6500/6600. You don't have to bounce the limiter to get the best run but you don't want to shift too quickly. In my experience...
I kinda dropped out of HS. I say kinda because I still finished out my requirements via a homeschooling program. I couldn't take the ignorant system that was in place for public schools in my area. In all fairness the public schools are actually quite good where I grew up, they just had no clue...
This made me think of Dave Coleman's S13 coupe. The car was flat black and he just used some gloss vinyl stripes with the logos cut out of them.Found a pic. Maybe something like the reverse of this would look good
Sounds like a good parts car, but since it's N/T a good portion of the car would be useless to you.Edit: grinding when trying to start would probably lend itself to a cracked flexplate (yes N/T manuals have a flexplate. the clutch is a modular assenmbly)
Exactly. I can fit MORE options in my DSM than a civic because of the double din configuration. If you have a factory double din unit and you want a single din headunit, just snag a pocket from an RS at the junkyard or the forsale sections. Shouldn't run you more than $10 shipped. Our dash...
Like fotown said, it's easy as pie. Just make sure that if the car is a 99 you get a 99 ECU. Between 96-99 the ECU's look the same but have different pinouts and other oddities.
Crap. I would only use one in an emergencyEdit: I figured that I would explain why.The specter filters have endcaps that are glued on and the glue likes to come loose after a few months of engine heat. Suddenly you notice that you have no endcap on your filter and you have no idea how...
