LOL,1st the IVTEC kills the VTEC pull of the motor, the torque is absent untill 4500 rpm, and the hp untill 6000rpm.2nd they weigh about the same, and the 92GSX is AWD wich means off the line alot quicker.3rd means RSX type S left in the dust in the 1/44th the RSX type S barely...
That is very funny, first of all Vtec didn't come out until the body switch in 93 and the Non-Vtec motors have a flater HP curve but make very good torque down low, unlike new vtec motors. The 1999+ SI, had bad torque, but very good top end hp, while a 1g nt dsm has mad torque down low and a...
It has been a while and I still miss my car, YES, you read right!!! I still miss my car. It all started 3 months ago, right after I started my NT project. I got the car up to 199hp on a dynojet, and then got gready. I tryed many ways to tune the car for even more power. But ended up blowing my...
IT isn't worth it, it needs a new block, I just broke the ear on mine 2nd block, and both times welding didn't work. The block is cast iorn, and you can't weld 2 cast iorn things together (ear to block).
True, but the money doesn't just go to japan, when the 1g and 2g were in production, Diamond Star Motors was a 50/50 split between Mitsu and Chrysler. But I still think of them as Jap made. But the engines and trannies were mostly made and designed by chrysler (that explains the probs, chrysler...
New info, The idle surge can be 3 things.... The TPS, O2 sensor, or a bad exhuast leak.I change my TPS and it went away, then it came back about 3months later, and I checked my TPS and it was fine. I looked at my exhuast manifold and found 3 hugh cracks that weren't there before, Those...
the 4G63 was developed by Chrysler also. The block is Mitsu, the Heads are chrysler hemi corp. Most people don't know that, Look at the new evo motors, they are reversed lateraly, because mistu started to make thei own heads and cut off all ties to Chrysler.xhypno
my 1gnt 2.0 dynoed at about 123hp and 126ft/lbs with a stock engine with 64k on it. With a rebuild it dynoed at 127hp and 131ft/lbs.My modsPacesetter 2.25" Mandrel bent and ceramic coated headers
freeflow cat
freeflow resinator
Glasspack Muffler
Port and Polished heads

It is called heads, because they are the head of all the pistons. Don't ask me who came up with it that way, because I don't know. You have to have the heads rebuilt at a machine shop, this is because the heads have to be resurfaced and machined, then the machine shop p&p's it, and bored out for...
true, I am wait also. Right now I am in the high 14's, and my next mod to go in is 1mm oversized valve (with a new 5 angle valve job to go with it), full porting, titanium double springs, titanium retainers, and Cower 196/198 lift (NA street) cams. I decided against the Porco heads this time...
I have the timeslips but no scanner to put them online. I am going to scan them at school, so I can put them up for you. I know how you feel, I have felt the same from time to time. What I meant by throw a piston was that when I was at Moroso in Fort Lauderdale, FL. During a run the oil pump...
There are heads for a dsm 4g63 motor that works on the same principal as vtec, it is a Variable Valve Geometry head from porco engneering here in miami. I had a set on my nt engine, that I turboed, and I now have them on my wall in my room as a reminder of what happens when your oil pump fails...
yup, definitaly. The only bad thing about the lightend flywheel, is also the lightened flywheel, let me explain...When you lighten the flywheel, you free up rotational movement that was used to move the wait (more power to the ground, not more power at the flywheel). But when your...
On my 94 ES Project car, I have 1.75" Mandrel bent and ceramic coated pace setter headers, 2.25" from there back, with a high flow cat, magnaflow resinator and glasspack. The sound is very loud, and very deap. But best of all was the performance increase.
look at my mod list, I have about 2k under the hood All-Motor. It is my project car, I am trying to get into the high 12's with out a turbo or nos.Every car site I have ever gone to puts the type r at 15.9. If it was a 14.9, it would be almost as fast as an s2000, and they are not.yeah...
the only ones that are quick of the line (other then s2k's and nsx's), are the older non-vtec dohc, they produce max torque down low, just like most cars (except vtec's with out vtec controllers).xhypno
That's what I am saying, out of all the hondas (other then S2000 and NSX) the TYpe R integra is the fastest, and it only runs a 15.9 stock. A guy I work with put 3k in the engine, and did everything except Turbo, NOS or vtec controller, and he only hits 15.3, another friend of mine has a JDM...
LOL, in a moded 1g or 2g you should be able to take most Vtecs easy. Vtec motors suck.... There torque curve doesn't hit max torque until between 5500 and 7000 RPM. The 2k SI has 160hp at 7000rpm, but only makes 123ft/lbs of torque at 6300rpm. The reason why this happens is the V-tec. The V-tec...
I have the new pace setter 1.75" mandrel bent ceramic coated headers and I dynoed at an increase of 17hp and 19ft/lbs at the wheels when combined with a test pipe and 2.25" piping all the way back (stock diameter, when I went larger, the car lost power). They are worth the 230 - 260 they cost...
LOL, no they are carp, they don't do anything, I have a friend that wasted his money on it, then 2 days later we found out they sell them at Wal-Mart for $16.99US each. All they are is a Bilge fan for a boat, and they only move 45cfm not 150cfm like the adds claim. The only electric supercharger...
Yeah the 2g looks better, but unless turboed or squeezed, it will still be looking at a moded 1g nt's tail lights... But true they do look better.xhypno
Intercoolr isn't always a must, with boost under 9psi, if you have stronger internals they aren't nessecary. Unless you want more power, the cooler the intake charge, the more power. (alot of turbo kits for other cars don't come with an intercooler. Hahn and Star stage 1's don't, but on stock...
yeah, ignore them, read my sticky above, PM me with any other questions, and e-mail hahn (they said if anyone begs, they will put one of there old kits together).xhypno
I agree, most people just hide behind their computer. But he is also right, you don't know him or his car. And just so you know 1g nt's (2.0) can get into the high 14's and low 15's, and that is with out nos or a turbo. Right now my car dynoed at 195hp and 199ft/lbs, and last time I ran it a...
The easyest way on a nt to 200hp, forged pistons, rods, mls head gasket, turbo cams, fuel pump, 320cc+ injectors, fuel regulator, turbo mas, ecu, turbo, manifold, used td05-14b or 13b, custom 3" downpipe back. The cheapest way. Other then NOS.
The turbo head gasket is a little bit thicker then the NT one. It is a good Idea to get the turbo one. It can hold more pressure and lowers the compression a very little bit. That and Vince is right, they hear turbo and fell their pockets getting bigger.xhypno
I tried a Glass pack, just like used on the 5.0's. It gave me a great deep sound, not as deep as the 5.0, but very nice. But best of all they flow better than anything else you will find, and are very cheap. I mean between 30-60 dollars, installed. They come in all different sizes, I used a...
on a nt if you want more power all around, I suggest getting 2.25" all the way back, and stay with a smaller tip, no biger then 2.5". The smaller diamiter piping on a nt will increase the speed the gases flow out of the engine at, in turn giving you more power. Any bigger then that and you will...
I had mine dynoed after my headers were put on, it came in at 195hp and 199ft/lbs.My mods:
Ported Headers, freeflow cat, freeflow resinator, Glasspack Muffler, Port and Polished heads, 5 angle valve job, 320cc injectors, cam gears, underdrive crank pully, K&N, Ported intake Manifold, bored...
Yeah, me too, college has been kicking me and taking most of my time. Yeah lets get it going, then I will get luda to make it sticky so everyone can get easy access to it and work on what this fourm needs a good All-Motor thread.xhypno
hey honda,Yeah the clutch master aren't bad, they just wear very fast. They probally could hold 450hp, but not for that long. On my turbo project, the clutch lasted about 3 weeks (on an engine that was built, with a tdo6-18g pushing 18psi). The centerforce stage 3 had a very good write up...
I have been working on performance cars for a while, and just saying (even if you say it might last for a little bit, or maybe longer) that a nt block, with stock internals can run 14psi, with out any problems for 5 months, is pure BS.Clutch problems, I bet!!!! When I first built my friends...
It doesn't just come down to the driver, when 2 cars that close, it comes down to gearing, and the taller 1st, 2nd, 3rd and Final drive of the 1g nt gives it a hugh advantage, but an advantage that a bad driver will lose quick.
I am sorry, I am always against flamming, but this time I can't help my self. You are the biggest IDIOT I have seen on this bored yet. So how did you overcome the problem that about 15 people I know about have had, WOW and there pistons are no longer in one peice. You see the nt pistons ring...
LOL!!!!! lowridin2g, a proven fact, in my 1g nt project car, the only 2gs that have beaten me, are turbos and on the bottle (rs and gs with turbo kits included). Yeah the 2g nt is 5 more hp then the 1g, but the 1g has a taller and closer geared tranny. This allows the 1g nt to put more power to...
yeah 1998gst, I just shut up about it, to stop the fighting. A guy I work with just bought a 2002 GT-S. I have run the car, and there is no competition. yeah when the valve timming kicks in at high rpm, it pulls like crazy, when he shifts (anyone for that matter) the car falls out of the vvti...
NO the stage 1 won't, when I had my NA to turbo project, it ate clutchs left and right. I ended up with a clutch masters stage 3 (70% over stock) before it held. but I would suggest for the same money, going with the centerforce stage 3 (110% over stock).supergoat, ACT only makes a turbo...
