  1. (non-Ebay) Electric Turbocharger (Supercharger?)

After reading that long FRS thread on their electric version, plus dyno graphs, revisions and back orders I'm excited to see what you come up with. I'd like to try something like this one on my NA 3.7 Mustang , the engine is great in that thing but lacks torque (I feel the FRS version would be...
  2. Let's See Those Sleepers! (PIX)

He could always meet me at the shootout this year and we could find out. I'm only running a old school fp red setup (60-1/TD06H) on E85 at 26 psi. The only thing I can think of I really need is bigger cams 264/272 setup not cutting it above 6k rpms on the 2.4L.
  3. 1G exhaust leaks questions

I just recently fixed two leaks in those areas myself with the FFWD Connection copper crush gaskets made by SCE for FFWD.http://www.ffwdconnection.com/dsm.html?___store=english&cat=28
  4. Kinugawa turbo billet wheels Wallotext

I run the Kinugawa TD06 3" compressor cover with their billet 60-1 wheel, MHI center section and a TD06H 11 blade in a Mitsubishi 7cm housing, EWG. Guess this would be pretty close to the old fp red, except it had a clipped 12 blade TD06H turbine. I used the Kinugawa rebuild kit with upgraded...
  5. Bang for the buck valve train POLL

I bought my ss valves, bronze guides and Viton seals off engnbldr on ebay.
  6. ECMlink Critic my 3rd Gear WOT pull

I did and am. ThanksYes, please close it as I'm not looking for any more help or advice about my tune or tuning in general. Thanks
  7. ECMlink Critic my 3rd Gear WOT pull

That's just it, nobody critiqued the actual tune when I had the log file posted, they only said something about not having a wbo2 logging. Even after I told them my AFR's and I will do it all myself, I always do, always have.
  8. ECMlink Critic my 3rd Gear WOT pull

It's not a necessity to log the wbo2. The necessity is having a WBO2 period! I do agree though that if you have a wbo2, might as well hook it up. I got a pretty damn safe tune without logging my wbo2 at 25+ psi 93 octane in 100 degree heat. The ONLY advantage of logging my wideband has been...
  9. ECMlink Critic my 3rd Gear WOT pull

You won't see it. I have nothing to prove to you or anyone else. believe it if you want. I guess you missed it when I said I was done with help in this thread. The biggest help I got in this thread was the link Gofer provided me to tuning the WOT MAFcomp sliders. Thanks man I do appreciate...
  10. ECMlink Critic my 3rd Gear WOT pull

4G61T.org has a forum specifically called wagons. There's info there and some builds of vistas/expos/summits. One of the better known wagon (technically what the vans are classified as) builds by Leon is on there. He's the guy who has all the video's on you tube drag racing, shootout and oval...
  11. Water to Air Intercooler High IAT's Help?

I'd try the pump first, I also use a 03/04 bosch pump on a smaller dual pass heat exchanger then you are using (the one from cxracing). This intercooler http://www.frozenboost.com/air_water-ic/long-flow-style-water-to-air-intercooler-p-219.html My intercooler is mounted where a side mount IC...
  12. ECMlink Critic my 3rd Gear WOT pull

Which build would that be on this vehicle, forged 4G64 SOHC turbo, 4G64/4G63 DOHC head w/ custom distributor or the current full blown wire harness/ecu swap? If you search the web the first 2 are well documented, the last one I still have to update. The easiest way to go if you want to stay...
  13. ECMlink Critic my 3rd Gear WOT pull

Apparently you are the idiot if you think I'm tuning wot pulls on the street by myself and would endanger other people trying to read everything by myself while trying to drive. I actually have a person ride with me when I tune, they data log, and make changes, while I concentrate on the rpm...
  14. ECMlink Critic my 3rd Gear WOT pull

Decided I've got about as much help as I want from this forum. Thanks to the people that actually shared some insightful info. See you a the shootout next year.
  15. 2G Tach jumps around

Pin 58 on the small plug should be tach signal
  16. 2G Tach jumps around

    Coil pack>PTU>ECU>Dash
  17. holy crap never replace your oil pan

Ha, try changing a oil pan gasket in a mid 90's t-bird with a v8. You have to lift the engine up high enough so the oil pan can drop down on the cross member (welded in) for clearance. If you plan on taking the oil pan off or changing the pick up tube/strainer, plan on pulling the engine.
  18. Has anyone tried this intake manifold?

An easy fix for the 2g MDP sensor mounted directly to the manifold is a 97 Sonata MDP sensor. Its not mounted on the manifold and it only needs a vacuum line. Its Mitsu made and its plug and play. Got this tip from someone when I wanted to run a cyclone intake with no provision for MDP sensor on...
  19. Bad head gasket?

Just put your current T-stat in a pan along with water and a candy/liquid thermometer (or watch the whole process carefully), bring water to boil and see if the thermostat opens. FYI, water boils at 212 degrees F.If it works you can rule out the thermostat.I had the same thing happen...
  20. Is the 4g63 still the baddest 4 cylinder there is?

I think the Ecotec is the new bad boy on the block as far as 4 cyl turbo motors go. I owned a modified HHR SS with the 2.0 ecotec turbo (same as Cobalt SS turbo). There are people with stock turbo, bolt ons, and tune making 360-380 whp (I made 340 whp on a mild tune). Slap a upgraded turbo and...
  21. turbo a 4g63 16valve SOHC

Actually RPW does make a cam for the 4G64 SOHC head, actually they make 3 different turbo cams for it. A 4G64 SOHC head should swap on, I think 94-95 Galants had a distributor, so did the 2.4 4G64 SOHC Eagle Summit wagon and Mistubishi Expo/LRV. All those were 16v SOHC heads and distributor...
  22. Billet compressor wheels

Your right, I see my mistake now and can see where the arguement came from. I was off 1 decimal point from what I meant to post. I meant to put to put .15mm instead of 1.5mm which would basically make it pretty much stock replacement. Trying to surf the forums and watch the bowl game for the...
  23. Billet compressor wheels

1.5mm is a little less then a 1/16 of an inch (yes I know thats a lot of material as far as machined parts go, I use to be a machinist after all). Any how I never said it was drop in or any other info on how it performed. Its kind of hard to give that info when my 20g is bolted on my car. What I...
  24. Billet compressor wheels

So your saying that the seller is lying that he's selling a billet 20g with a 68mm exducer and a 52.65mm inducer? Its the same exact specs as a snail turbo billet wheel. Lol, I never remember saying it was similar to a KTS/Kawasaki compressor wheel, I believe I said snail turbo billet...
  25. Billet compressor wheels

No markings what so ever, just a balance mark on the back of the wheel. Its from that new ebay seller I put above. The billet wheel is ball milled, similar to snail turbo billet wheels (same spec to :hmm:). I'd almost be willing to bet that all these billet wheels on the market are manufactured...
  26. Billet compressor wheels

This weighs 62g also, but it is not lighter then the ebay cast lightweight wheel. At least not the ebay cast lightweight version 20g wheel I have with the thin blades and center.
  27. Billet compressor wheels

Just wanted to update you guys in this thread on this seller in case anyone was on the fence about the seller.20g Billet Compressor Wheel with Point Milled "Big Sale US$100 00 Only" | eBayI recieved mine today, it shipped quick, the seller provided good communication, a tracking number...
  28. 2.4 or 6 bolt?

Some early Expo's and Summit wagons had 6 bolt motors. :thumb:
  29. EF1 vs 68hta vs S256 vs HX35 so many choices

So you bought the last 3. I'm not to worried about it, I've never lost a paypal dispute and always got my money back if a deal fell through. Isn't Thailand 12-13 hrs difference from USA central time? Maybe he was sleeping :idontknow:
  30. EF1 vs 68hta vs S256 vs HX35 so many choices

Thanks for the link :thumb: I almost bought one of the billet 18g wheels on sale but decided to hold out to see if the 20g wheel would go on sale. Sure glad I did. Now to decide if I want to mate it with the TD06H I have sitting around or a 10 degree clipped TD05H.
  31. Billet compressor wheels

If you notice each wheel has a different part number under it.The first $70 wheel is td05618gbSecond $70 wheel is td05618gb2The $80 wheel is td05618gb3The $100 wheel is td05618gxI think its fair to say that $100 wheel is the bad boy extended tip version.
  32. 2.3l mod help

Well if your worried about gas your going to want a mid pump turbo or bigger like what was stated by others, 20g-TD06H, 50 trim, etc. etc. The smaller the turbo the faster the spool and the more fuel you will be using. Anything 16g or smaller is going to spool extremely fast on a 2.3, probably...
  33. Tigershark Motor

I'm not sure on the Tigershark version (I read they were re-enginered also) but I never saw what engines they were based on. I do know the 1.4 multi-air turbo engine is a Fiat "Fire" engine.
  34. Is the CXRacing o2 downpipe

I use a CXRacing 3" 1g AWD downpipe (only) on my build. I havent had no problems thus far with welds, rusting or anything really, I've had it since 2009.As far as the O2 housing/downpipe version I have no idea, I use a punishment racing EWG recirculated SS version.Wouldn't you rather...
  35. Re-using timing belt

If you would have personally put the belt on 10k miles ago, I would say inspect it and re-use it. But since I don't trust mechanics or most the parts they put on cars (they usually go for the cheapest they can find) I would put a new timing belt on. For all you know the auto shop could have put...
  36. Alternator belt squealing? Read this

I know you are trying to help others, but please for the love of god use paragraphs. Sometimes a squeeling alt belt just means you need to inspect it and tighten it if in good condition. DSM alternator belts (and other cars like mine, galants, etc. that use same engine/alt configuration) are bad...
  37. BOV not working correctly

As the jimmy said, there should be a beaded lip on there to stop that hose with the bov from popping off. If there isn't one you could have a bead put on it. Without a bead on that pipe you are going to have nothing but problems with that thing popping off all the time.I would just get...
  38. issue closing doors...

Unless the door is catching on the fender when you open and close it, I would say no.
  39. where to get wire for batt relocation?

I used 4 gauge welding wire also, I ran my positive through the cab in protective sheathing. I ran a ground (4 gauge also) wire under the car from the rear to the front along the frame away from heat sources, then multiple grounds under the hood and I also grounded the battery in the rear. Make...
  40. 1G Rubber oil and coolant line replacement

If it were me and I had the choice of running regular rubber vacuum hose or rubber fuel line hose for liquids, I would choose the rubber fuel line hose for liquids passing through it as fuel line hose is reinforced. Helps to prevent collapsing of the line and has a higher burst pressure.
  41. How to lower my car? What struts/springs to buy?

I'd go with these shocks with what ever springs you select, if it were me. My little van has KYB AGX adjustables on the front and you can definetly tell a difference in dampening between the settings. Are the Koni's adjustable like the KYB AGX's?
  42. Valve cover difference

I think u have to ge t the OEM stuff through Hyundai.
  43. Valve cover difference

The ignition module, coil, cam sensor signal, everything is inside the distributor (even the crank sensor signal) on this model distributor, but I bypassed the crank sensor since mine is at the crank pulley. If you know how to machine and have access to a lathe, you could probably have the...
  44. Valve cover difference

Off topic reply; My 4G64 runs a distributor from the factory. All I did was custom machine a 4G15 distributor end exactly like a DSM 1G CAS end. I changed out the firing ring from the 4G15 (with 2 triggers on the ring crank/cam) to my 4G64 firing ring (1 trigger for cam signal). The 4G15...
  45. Valve cover difference

Here's one without Hyundai, where the Eagle badge is its normally blank there. I just added a badge for my own flavor since its in a Eagle Summit Wagon. FYI, I installed my own baffle off a 4G63T valve cover onto the powder coated Hyundai unit using rivets since it did not have a baffle...
  46. Valve cover difference

There is also the Hyundai 4G63 valve cover that will work on DSM's. All they say is DOHC 16 valve across the bottom (no Hyundai font on cover), with the 16 valve portion font almost as big as the DOHC portion. But be aware if you use the Hyundai 4G63 valve cover you will have to use longer bolts...
  47. Engine swap plausibility question

If you like Vans, you would probably be better off finding you the 4 door Mitsubishi Expo (full size), or a 3 door version (with sliding passenger door) Mitsubishi Expo LRV, Eagle Summit Wagon or Colt Vista Wagon to put that Evo motor in. Mine is 1996 Expo Wagon with the the 4G64 2.4L (I...
  48. Question about the Punishment Racing 02

My Punishment racing O2 housing I bought 2 years ago has the step also, dremeled the step smooth the last turbo swap I did. Other then the step (which I thought was crappy for the money spent), the O2 housing has been perfect.
  49. FP RED 20g vs Holset turbo

Well how comparable would a TD06H-25g be to a FP Red then?
