Prepping for a paint job again :cry:Update... Timing belt was done again with OEM parts.
Poly mounts have been ordered.Just waiting for the poly mounts to get here to weld up the bracket and paint the bay again.
I went with the 3g trans just because it would be less expenisve. Remember a working evo 8/9 trans range from $600-2,000 dollars plus the transfer case which is another $1k. Maybe if i run into another evo 8 trans that is cracked at a different point i'll save it and swap it in. In the mean...
Thanks man! i appreciate the positive input. There shall be big update in a week or two. I just ordered some more parts that i wasn't going to until next month.
I haven't been here in a while so here goes nothing. Talon is in the garage, thanks to another dsm buddy who helped get her inside. Engine will be going in soon, maybe in a week or two. I want to finish up the engine bay with new ss brake lines. Remember I'm not made of money so this takes time.
Pretty much what mitsubishikid said. it's not my daily so I'm good. only thing I'm worried is getting pulled over in my city. They are a pain to deal with. Especially bike cops. they stare at me a lot whenever I'm driving that car. I should be okay as long as I'm not doing stupid stuff
Update on my build. pretty much have boxes of new parts sitting I'm my garage. I hardly have time. only thing left is to buy the transmission and I'm pretty much done.
Yea trying to get everything together so i don't have to worry about it when its inside the engine bay. I should have some more updates this weekend. I will be installing my STM fuel line kit this weekend. Just waiting on some little parts since the hard line on the fuel tank broke. Dam cars are...
Forgot to upload this last night on here. I uploaded it on DSMTUNERS on FB. Here you guys go! Almost there. Keep in mind that my summer is over and its back to school. So I'm doing my best on balancing both work and school.
dam this escalated quickly lol.I have spent around the same price you would pay to buy a complete short block except i have a new rebuilt turbo and built head with a stock short block. I will be on a conservative tune for the time being and switch over to E85 later on.on a side note does...
It wasn't a mivec evo 9. I know who you're talking about. It was an evo 8. I've been in touch with him. I probably won't post for a while until I'm done with the engine.
Since i know you guys like pictures. My rebuilt evo 9 turbo just came in. Thanks a lot to Justin Goad for the turbo and Justin Whitesell for rebuilding my turbo.Journal Bearing Turbocharger Rebuild Service - DSM ClassifiedsLink^^^^^ if you guys need a turbo rebuild.
Im hoping i could finish this by July 12 which is MOD in Cypress, Ca. I got lucky and was able to sell some more parts so i put the money towards the new turbo.Whats left
-3g trans
-evo 8 ecu
-evo 8 harness
-shifter assembly and pedals
-just small stuff i guess like exhaust manifold and...
