A 1g DSM with a 2nd gear grind? UNPOSSIBLE!!In all seriousness though, it's most likely you're syncros. Every stock 1g in the world will eventually have problems with those damn 2nd gear syncros. Just something about them. Send it to Sheps!
I don't mind taking a picture, but my brother's two years into electrical engineering so if he wired a diode backwards he will never live it down. While I dig up my camera and the like, is it common for 1990s to not accept these kinds of cables?EDIT: I JUST took it apart to find a broken...
I made the cable myself, it's perfect, quadruple checked. The hotsync cable is new too, and worked fine with my computer. And I have one of the recommended palms, can't remember the name off the top of my head. And I don't mind building a cable so long as it WORKS.
Sorry I'm being a HUGE jerk and bringing a 5 year old post back from the dead, but there's relevant information to my question here.I have a 1990 TSI and the simple cable doesn't work. Should I try making the harder one? And will it work with my palm pilot?
Yeah I checked everywhere pretty thoroughly. It torques down fine, and even if i torque the hell out of it it still leaks out of the bottom of the fitting
I just installed SS lines up front on my car to swap to big brakes up front, and after tightening them down, on both sides I have a leak on the first SS line. It's coming out right after the lines connect to the hard lines. Bad flare? This is literally the last thing keeping my car on blocks...
Yeah the end links that attach to the axles. They desperately need to be replaced due to the pickle fork that didn't work SHREDDING the boot. Shreeeeeedding it. :(
So I'm having a HELLUVA time getting my outer tie rod end off the knuckle. I tried the hit the knuckle and pry bar the tie rod trick, the pickle fork, and the ever popular curse incessantly.Any other thoughts? I don't have a gear puller otherwise I would've already done it the easy way...
Thanks for the thorough explanation of the issue. I JUST bought a UEGO too. Oh well, I can always switch when DSMlink rolls around. Any idea what the resistance IS at the ECU? Because I'm POSITIVE there's a way to modify the signal sent to the ECU to prevent me from buying another wideband...
I'm not even going to say anything on that jeep:rolleyes:I don't know if it's worth buying, but there's no reason for a 200 watt amp to NOT work with a 200 watt sub. Good luck getting things bumping!
Just mind the gaskets - simple green and RTV don't like to get along, I usually use it to clean gasket mating surfaces.I always like superclean. Dilute it like 6 water - 1 superclean in a spray bottle for the best cleaning solution ever.
Well it has popped out of first after an upshift a few times before. Maybe sitting dry for a month while I waited on parts (ugh) finally killed my shift fork somehow? Sounds like a 1-2 shift fork. But I have an awful whine coming from a fully filled transmission - not sure what to make of...
But I can go into any other gear. I can start the car in 2nd and it shifts through all the others fine.Clutch pedal is adjusted
How do you adjust the shift cable at the transmission? I was unaware that was possible. Even so, i put the car in first manually at the transmission and it popped...
Title says it all. I JUST put a new clutch in and changed the fluids and that's the only change I've made at all. First gear worked before this.I can't put it into gear when it's rolling either.I also tried putting it into gear manually (with the cable detached from the shifter, under...
I've done some digging and I haven't been able to find this.I saw a guy who got a brake line from napa or something to fit banjo bolt brakes on a 1g without getting the RRE kit. I'm getting the RRE kit later but right now I need my car going forward. Anyone know what brake lines will work...
Damn. Have to pull the tranny to replace what the previous idiot never installed. Standard height bolts or are the stubby heads to prevent hitting the flywheel?
Can someone tell me how the starter plate bolts on? I know there are two bolts on either side of the transmission, two bolts on top, and two bolts from the starter. But there are two additional holes. Do those bolt to the block behind the flywheel? Thanks
Does anyone have the part number for the clutch back plate? Or can get it off of CAPS? I just got off the phone with my Chrysler parts department and they gave me a (MD008862) - is that right?
Tried the hammer to no avail. I guess I'll have to take it to my moms house where I have access to a vice to take some harder hits.So just a piece of wood and a good size hammer?
So on the top of my transmission is a hole and a rubber vent next on the opposite side. Just for verification I need one of those vents on either side right? And where can I get one? Also, I am missing the rear lower transmission to engine bolt (along with the inspection plate :( and I was...
Kalisko: exactly. The outer CV boot on the drivers side.VanIsleDSM: That's all well and good except it's not a split boot. The end of the CV joint HAS TO come off for the new boot to go on.
So here's the deal. I got the boot off and took a look. This is the OUTER DRIVER'S SIDE, the one with the intermediate shaft that bolts onto the block.I looked in and I see the steel balls and all that, but I don't see a clip or any way for it to come off.
So my driver's (left) side front CV joint decided to blow the outer boot. It's a recent tear and there's VERY little debris in there so I was planning on just replacing the boot. The problem is, I don't have the foggiest how to take off the outer CV. anyone have any ideas (preferably with...
I have a 90 eagle talon TSI AWD and I'm about to install the clutch and I noticed before I removed the transmission that I'm missing the back plate (the one that covers the back part of the flywheel. Is there a difference between 6 bolt and 7 bolt back plates? I don't want to end up with one...
Indeed it does. I have to get a new O2 sensor now since the idiot who owned the car before me overtorqued it and raped the threads. Need to get a tap and a wideband I guess. C'est la vie.
3 1/2 in cat back system? Jeeesus. The mods alone validate the pricetag but expect to spend a cool 1k on a good transmissionAnd there's got to be something else wrong at that price.6/4?
