It has been a while since I have posted a build update. My friend at broken wrench performance completed the intercooler set up, 3inch piping, vibrant clamps and a huge CSF intercooler core. I’m waiting on the spark tech cop ignition to come in, with the M&W box.
Currently have the care...
Just been assembling miscellaneous pieces and ensuring proper fittment. I hope to have the long block installed tomorrow, begin working on wiring and a few failsafes for link g4+.
Picked up some additional parts this week. I will begin assembling the long block this weekend...hopefully. I got a pretty sweet deal on a barely used fp3794 and I couldn’t resist.
I cannot wait either. The motor should be done next week. I should be able to install the rear differential and subframe this weekend minus the correct length 300m axles from driveshaft shop.
When the head gasket went, there was some contamination that screwed up one of my cams and the cylinder head cam cap. The cams were very nice I just got a great deal on Black Friday on the gsc s3s.
This year feels like it has evaporated. I had my friend Dave at 4wheelcustoms paint my car. It turned out absolutely stunning! When we went to tune the car it was having a weird miss fire issue during the first dyno session. After shootout and finding out one of my fuel pumps was dead I took it...
It has been a long time since I updated this. My goals during the off season were to build a new block, bigger cams, obtain a new large runner T3 manifold and install the twin disc. As with any build I did more than the original plan... I got a deal from my buddy on a block that was already half...
Before I review how remarkably well built the T3 manifold, downpipe and dump tube are. Let me first give the Morrison's a shout out for the exceptional customer service that they deliver with any purchase of there products! I really like the feature that they utilize on there website, where you...
The new Garrett gtw 6465 setup was tuned two months ago. As you can see on the dyno sheet in my pictures after the first run we took some timing out of it (due to stock rods) and settled on 35psi on 110 Sunoco fuel.
You do not need an extended slave cylinder rod. If you have a properly functioning hydraulic system and the clutch fork/pivot ball are not worn out it'll work. Make sure the hydraulic system is completely free of air.
Stock rev limit is 7500 that loud "pop" is most likely the car running out of fuel at that level due to the 16g. I wouldn't recommend taking it to that rpm until you have more fuel and a way to log what is going on with the car.
Hi, My name is Zak and I'm from the Cleveland area in Ohio. I am not new to DSMs just new to using this site. I have two DSMs. One that is running (my 1990 tsi awd) and my newest edition a black cherry 1991 tsi awd. The 1990 is on an old school fp red and I will see how far that gets me. The...
Results after tuning today. Showed that at about 22 psi I ran out of injector (the 660s). The car is making 41lbs/min and making sure there was no knock. I will be switching the injectors to the 1600s and putting in the walbro 450lph fuel pump to see what the turbo's full potential is. I may...
I actually have a similar set up on my talon and the chip worked wonders. The car runs great you just let them know what modifications you have and they send a chip with your specifications. I just have my MAFT set to 0. Of course if you want to try and make more power you will have to do some...
I actually had a similar issue when i put in an ACT 2600. I replaced the slave and the master cylinder and it was properly adjusted. Still no disengagement. My friend told me to get an extended rod from my slave cylinder. I did just that and it came out the right way. It's been disengageing just...
