You can get custom rates through GC, go on there website to get there number and give them a call.
Same price for the custom rates, but they wont let you return used springs if they are the wrong rate.
I ended up buying the new Sumitomo HTR A/S P01s 225 50 16. First thing i noticed after putting them on the car was how much better the car drove on the street tires compared to the drag radials.Took my car to the track this past weekend, Import Wars at GLD WI.
Left my car on 25psi spring...
I bit the bullet and ordered some custom rates:Front- 8 inch 380lbs/inch
Rear- 10inch 450lbs/inchI will be installing these soon to see how they do on my car.
Looking into buying ground control coil overs for my 1g. I have AGXs already on the car. Would like to know what kind of spring rates people are running. My car weighs 3000 with me in it and i'm still taking some weight of out it. This car is mainly a drag car, but i do want to drive it on...
That would be the other Evo 2 we sponser... Mike has gone 9.3 on street tires, Yusuf, who is in the first video has gone 9.7 before on the same tires and also went 200.2mph at the Texas Mile. There are 2 Evo 2's!!! Yusuf's is the baddest street car you'll ever see, Mike's is a RACECAR.
Thanks Tim for the quick response! How much do these tires your talking about usually cost? And are they able to handle dry and wet roads when fully aired up while street driving? Tire life? Btw if you didn't know I'm Chris from Douglas AutoWorks, I believe you've helped Yusef out with some...
AWD
Best street tires for drag racing. Not drag radials or cheater slicks. Real street tires. I have 245 50 16 nittos 555R and I'm afraid of breaking something with the wheel hop they cause. I want to hear what people are doing on street tires. I don't know what is better, a ultra high...
I won a 20g so i did the move from evo3 16g to 20g. I personally think its not a big enough step for some who has to pay for it. if i were you i'd go with a green or 50 trim. About the same price for more turbo and more useable power being you are fwd.
Also there is no need for an plug cooler the bpr7's when running e85...please tell me why you think this because you have definetly never used e85 thene85 burns colder and is more dention resistant but also needs more timing
to burn efficientlywith the higher boost and more timing...
I won a 20g-6sl2 at shootout two years ago. Turbo has the fp cast center section and probably there cast turbine housing. Long story short, my little 20G here has seen more then a few 40+psi track passes and its still kicking strong!!! I think as long as you listen to fp about what kind of oil...
i agree with whats said above 2g or evo9 pistons are good enough with 1g rods with arp bolts for 400 to 450. pretty much anything youd want to do on pump gas with a street turbo. good luck
stay small 16g if this is purely a street car that you only want 300hp out ofyou will want and love the quick spool.stock cams would be fine, 264s would be nice if u got money burning a hole in your pocket...not needed tho
should be fine until u really want to push every last bit out of power out of that 16g but at that point it really isnt worth it because u need a 600+ core just to handle all the heat
bj clyinder heads are no longer aroundi would look at like dsmgrave yard or ffwdconnetion for other slightly built heads thoffwd had very good customer service when i used them for some extrude honing a few years back
maintenance
free mods
front mount
fuel pump
injectors
headstuds
evo 3 16g
boost controller
turbo back exhaust
dsm link with a good tuneyou will love your carand youll probably need a clutch with all the new power youll be making
all depends on the condtion this new head is in
if its brand new just machined and you know everything thats done to it
yes it might end up being the smarter cheaper way to go
it does tho
why spend money on a turbo that u cant run to its full potential
i don't understand why people put monster turbos on there car and then run 15-20psi its not even running in the sweet spot of its effency rangei understand larger displacement will aid in spooling up a bigger...
i was more so talking about Mike Reichen being im good friends with him and sponser and wrench on his car...but anyways Brents a cool guy too...more displacment i guess would be nice for a street car too but i wouldnt know, instead of putting a big turbo and needing extra displacment to help...
it sounds like everything is fine in boost maybe a tad rich but thats safe-er
going lean at idle kinda sounds like a exhaust leak of some sorthow does it run at idle when its reading lean? does it start to jerk like the engine is about to die?
pull the head and see how much is damaged
go from there
it's kinda hard to tell you what needs to be done without knowing everything thats wrong with it first
2.4l seem like a lot of work to me
you need a different block and other internals seem to be a head ack to find in my opinion600hp can easily be handled on a mild 2.0l build
with the right turbo and good tuningthe only reason I would go stroker is if your cars auto and in that case i...
im assuming your on 93 oct with the injectors your running? correct?
like said above, anymore boost has bad news written on it for many reasons
i'd get at least some headstuds if i were you
then i'd probably start adding timing like said abovethere no garantee with having a stock motor...
i work at Douglas Autoworks. We have a Nascar monti carlo windshield in our evo. no center support and the car has alrealy seen 150+ with no problems. cant tell you how thick it is off the top of my head, but atleast you have some info.Chris
