So i recently purchased a 98 awd talon tsi, couldn't be happier and will share her with you guys soon enough. I have one problem though and that's the anti theft. Any time i open the door from inside, outside, you name it my lights start flashing on and off and I'm having trouble finding out how to delete it. The fuse was already missing when i checked for it, so that's definitely not the answer LOL. Anyone have any idea how to completely bypass it?

Did you check the door light switch thing on the frame of door. Also check the alarm switch thing it's inside the door panel and attached to the door lock cylinder. Those are the 2 most common issues with these alarms. Check those out before you try and delete things. Those are easy and cheap to fix. Door light switch looks like this.

Is it particularly hard to just delete? I'm missing the entire tumbler in the passenger side and the hatch tumbler is siezed.

Couldn't tell you bro. It's probably doing it cuz the passenger side missing. Maybe there's a way to trick it to thinking it's there. Just go to a junk yard and pull a lock cylinder off another eclipse and put it in and hook up the sensor. That's should stop the issue.

Would jumping the 2 wires that attach to the cylinder work?

There is a relay in the dash umder the radio you can jump and it will get rid of most of the security system issues. Bypassing it makes the car ignore the key switches and stuff. Search forums for security relay or something. Im on my phone or i would be more helpful.

To disable the alarm you would need to use your key in the passengers side door lock to unlock the door. Never failed that I would be washing the car, the crappy range key fob wouldn't work and I'd unlock the passengers side door and the alarm would go off if I did anything else to the car.

I would assume you would only want to momentarily jump the connector inside the passengers side door with the vehicles doors locked and closed to disable or reset the security alarm functions.

Under the dash is a four prong connector. It will have a thick blk/rd wire a couple other wires. One of the wires is green/blk. Is wire goes to the large blue plug in the same location. Pull the connector and de-pin it or cut it. This will disable the alarm's effect on your starter. I am placing this here because I had to deal with this before, solved the issue and came right back to it after I got a new harness. for the life of me I could not remember how I solved it and could not find the info again. So this is also for me. Ill post a pick of the connector later. Hope this helps.

Is this for a factory alarm? I have an old aftermarket Viper alarm that came on my car. I keep my battery unplugged to keep it from being drained as I dont drive the car regularly, so when I reconnect the battery of course the alarm goes off and the car wont start. It wouldnt be an issue but the remote is so old you have to play around with it to shut the alarm off. I would love to remove the crap but didn't want to end up keeping the car from ever starting again LOL.

Yes that response was for the factory alarm.
